Can I ask why she has that name ? Does she promote holidays to Jacobs Creek ? Is she from Jacobs Creek ? Is it the name of her house ? In fact does she have any reason whatsoever other than trying to get money out of the wine company to register that name ? I don't mean to sound harsh so please don't jump on me but in my experience the courts take a very dim view of what they consider a form of extorsion. IIRC there have been several instances of this nature and they all go in favour of the original owner of the trademark/name/logo etc. Be careful you don't get involved in a potentially very expensive court fight. Definitely in my experience the big boys use big expensive lawyers and will pursue you for costs if you lose.......... Having said all that......good luck !

As I've now got a very small front number plate I'm hoping that I can use that 'get out of jail' card :)

I have one fitted on the rear (J-Spec) bumper and got pulled for it as they said that the numbers/letters were too small.....£60 fine ! Basically if you have 'proper' size characters these trims cover the outer edges apparently......and I hereby quote the policeman who gave me the ticket....."If you had a little girl who was run over by a car with a number plate like this who didn't stop and any witnesses couldn't read the number properly you wouldn't be very happy would you....sonny ? " So now its hidden behind a normal plate..... HTH Mark

My mate, who's considerably wealthier than me, has been seriously thinking about joining a club where for about £12k a year you get to drive a whole range of exotic machinery. Anyway we were chatting about what they've got in the stable and he was telling me that in the last two years their Murcielago has had FIVE new clutches at £11K A TIME !!! Holy sh*t !!! And I thought the Z was expensive to look after !!!! Mark

I once repo'd a Merc 560SEC with the number F1GHT on it. Every where it went people were like 'You want some or what.....ha ha ha' like they were the first person to think of it ! It got VERY tiring after a while.

I saw 'The Beast' at an American car meet in Guildford about two years ago in the Halfords car park. Sounded like Beelzebub himself !

There is a piece of legislation somewhere (don't ask me where) that says you can fit an OEM sized plate ie: whatever it had in Japan you can fit here. I used to carry the printed extract in the car in case I was ever stopped but I fear it's been thrown out with the rubbish long ago. HTH Mark

My son and his mate won two entries into FHM's search for a sports car driver 2006 round at Kings Cross in London yesterday. When he started telling me all about the high-street-honeys that were going to be there and other trackside totty I thought it might be a good idea if I went along to *cough* give him some tips on go-kart driving :) It was brilliant to be honest......although he only got 15 minutes on track to set a fast lap and go through to the finals in Barcelona. Fastest lap of the day was set by some bloke who looked about 40 who had his own outfit and helmet with proper shoes the lot ! Not really in the spirit of it I didn't think. My son commented....."He's only still racing karts so he can beat all the kids and say 'aren't I good' ". My sentiments exactly. And he was about 4'8" tall too - needed a cushion to reach the pedals. Maybe that's why he's still racing karts :) Still.....good day had by all. Mark (now wishing I was 18 again :headvswal )

Just wondered........ As some Cobras and now the McLaren SLR both have side exit exhausts would I be breaking any kind of regulation if I were to have the same on my car ? Oh and not forgetting the Viper ! Something like the SLR's as opposed to a couple of drainpipes like a Cobra ? Cheers Mark
