  1. That's a great tip ! Never thought of anything like that. Have been so worried....you know when you can see the glass bending !
  2. Oops meant doors :-)
  3. Today is the first day for about a week that my coors haven't been frozen shut !! I thought the glass was gonna go everytime I tried to get in it !! Design fault or just VERY cold ? I see so many people pouring kettles on their cars round here.....my dad always said NEVER do that !!
  4. Indeed and I think all round it's a much nicer set-up than the IPT one. Has anyone actually got one fitted ?
  5. Something I've been thinking about doing next year as a project and a way of understanding how autos work. Anyway Jeff at Zedworld gave me a link to these people who do rebuild kits but also while I was looking noticed they do something similar to ESS with a shift-at-will kit.........I seem to remember a few people were looking at this sort of thing. http://www.importperformancetrans.com/inventory.cgi?action=description&item_id=s4Vk0lRiUcRbyFYCwsp7WnXWHjvJK4
  6. I never understand why Nissan would go to all the trouble of manufacturing an air box as complicated as it is if a replacement such as the Apexi or similar is better since it would clearly be cheaper and easier to fit/manufacture etc such a filter than the oem part  So are they really better ? Is it all a big con ? If it was all about engine strangulation to control power output/emissions surely that would be more than easy enough through the engine management system/electronics ?
  7. They must be like chucking an anchor out the back compared to stock !! I've been looking for a while at all the options and I kinda like the idea of OEM-ish brakes....was just hoping someone might have bought some.
  8. Happy b/day Dave. Do you still own my old car ?
  9. These are the same brakes just for a different model - there are some pics to show relative sizes. The cool thing is that it's all Nissan products...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180400636948&viewitem=&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2&category=33563
  10. I do yes - sorry about that. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=3219&Car_Type=300&UID=2009112315081190.192.64.248
  11. I'm sure everyone has either seen these on ConceptZ or eBay but has anyone bought any ? They seem truly great value ! I think Nend mentioned a while back that he was getting some - if you see this did you get them ? If so what impressions ? Mark
  12. HKS did a 6 speed box for the 300ZX - I gave Luke at Z-Centre a catalogue someone got me from Japan that had one in it. IIRC it was about £4,500 ! Don't know if he still has the catalogue though as it was a long time ago..... Mark
  13. My autobox works fine but I was thinking about buying another one and rebuilding it. Jeff at Zedworld mentioned that for about £200 there is a kit available that all the gearbox rebuilders use regardless of price/spec etc. Does anyone know where/if one of these kits is available ? Jeff if you're reading this I dont know why I didn't ask you when I was there ! Cheers for any thoughts....... Mark
  14. Rich I agree that the insurance might be a bit iffy but I'm hoping that as I'm replacing it with a Nissan part - simply from an earlier year - and that apparently the airbag wheel was an option so could argue on that front too. If not I may have a Series 1 non-cruise button wheel for sale :-)
  15. I did - it's very nice indeed ! Paintwork was stunning ! There's a bronze one there too that looks amazing although the front is not my taste but you can for sure appreciate the work that's gone into it ! I also managed to get a Series 1 steering wheel without the cruise control buttons to swap out my air-bag wheel. I think it looks too American market if that makes sense......ooh and they fitted a replacement arial too ! The jam on toast was sooooo nice :D
  16. Jut spent a long morning at Zedworld with my car getting a service. It's so nice meeting people who care about the car and customer at least as much if not more than the bottom line as is so often the case in most places. I had fully expected to have to fork out for a cambelt/waterpump etc but Jeff and Jamie reassured me that the existing parts were fine. How many garages would turn away an opportunity like that. For that very reason I'll be taking the car back when it is time to do it. Some interesting cars in the workshop too - including the mint original red UK car. It looks like it just rolled out of the showroom ! Anyway just wanted to say a public thankyou (for the service AND the jam on toast !) and look forward to seeing you in the spring for the next round of maintenance work :-) Mark
  17. That's cool ! As soon as I get the car registered (all in the hands of DVLA at this moment) I'll pm you to sort out a date ! Would you need any prep work on my part prior to arrival ? Cheers Mark
  18. Hi Graham Would you entertain the idea of a visit and a while-you-wait conversion ? Basically I'm thinking about the whole lot (dash/pods/window switches/auto gearbox panel/ignition/etc) in blue and I'm thinking that postage and my lack of skill in removing/refitting it all might in fact justify Wight-Link's or Red Funnel's extortionate ferry prices. And my parents used to live in East Cowes so it would be a nice trip down memory lane too :-) Possibility or bad idea ? Cheers Mark
  19. Bored at home waiting for the roofers to fix a leak so surfing the net....... http://www.modifiedcars-export-japan.jp/inventory/nissan.html Sorry if it's a repost Mark
  20. Thanks guys - much appreciated.
  21. Thanks guys - my thoughts too to be honest. Si was yours a one-off or still available ? ALternatively can anyone recommend a head unit with a motorised screen other than the Kenwood which seems a bit steep to me at about £1200 inc GPS ?
  22. Hi all Any recommendations on the best discs and pads to replace the originals ? Funds dont really permit the ConceptZ Akebono brake kit at the moment which is what I really want. Until then I think new discs and pads will have to do. Thanks Mark
  23. Hi all Can anyone post any pics of double din units fitted in a zed ? My local ICE store said 'oh yes we'll just chop out the dividing bar dont worry it'll look great' so.....need to see if he's right..... Thanks Mark
