  1. To be fair only 3000 miles. It was £274 for 5000 miles.
  2. Hi everyone I know it's probably an often-covered topic but I've just re-newed my insurance with Lynbrook on a classic policy for a premium of only £216 !!! That's fully comp. with a £250 excess. I appreciate I'm getting on in life and so perhaps less of a risk, but I think that's fantastic value - especially with the inexorable rise in everything - especially insurance - it seems these days. Very pleased !!! And the people you have to deal with there are very courteous, pleasant and professional too so I would recommend them very highly. Mark Ps just need to tax it and back on the road !!
  3. Hi Jeff Just to say that I had the Scorpion exhaust fitted today as part of my MOT and I just wanted to let you know that it sounds FANTASTIC !!!!! The guy who fitted it commented that it was an exceptional system and reckoned it would last the life of the car and then some ! So thanks for spotting my 'wanted' post. I am a very happy chappy  To anyone thinking of getting a 2nd hand system I would recommend Scorpion all day.....if you can find one. Mark
  4. Probably a re-post but interesting wheel arch extensions.......oh and the engine of course !!! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2254430.htm
  5. Hi guys yes indeed I did mean a new body shell. Sorry for the vague post.
  6. I was just pondering what is still available from NIssan. I dont mean consummables and similar small bits and pieces like service items. Just looking at some posts on here a new shell seems to be quite often sought after......can you get a NEW one ? Mark
  7. I'm 47 and that was like reading my own thoughts !!!! In a similar vein I despair at the quality of today's music - well most of it at least ! I listen to what my kids are listening to and it's either rubbish or just reworkings (sampling) of music I grew up listening to. I think without doubt I lived through the best times for music - originality in so many different genres. Of course I recognise that I may have turned into my own Dad in so many ways - traffic, cost of living etc etc but on music I'm pretty sure I'm right ! Mark
  8. Lol yes - thankfully she's never been interested in rich guys or their money otherwise I'd have been given a P45 years ago !
  9. Just reading the post about riding in a Ferrari 360 and thought I'd share a horror moment I had in one..... My son's best friend's dad had one and he came round one day to pick him up from my house. While chatting to him and generally shooting the breeze he offered the car saying 'go on take it for a spin'. I declined but he persisted until I thought 'probably wont get many opportunities to drive one so what the hell'. So off I go in it - F1 gear box and LHD. Great fun until I get back to mine where he is waiting outside my house chatting to my Mrs. As I pull up outside my place I KERB BOTH offside alloys REALLY BADLY !!!!! F*CK F*CK F*CK !!!!! Possibly the worst moment behind the wheel in my life !!! He was really cool about it and wouldn't hear of me sorting out a refurb or anything. Top bloke ! Does anyone else have similar stories ?
  10. Car looks great !! Where in Surrey are you ? I'm in Surbiton.
  11. Had one on my previous car which I really liked. Does anyone know where I might be able to get one as my original exhaust is starting to let go ? To be fair it's 15 years old :-) Thanks Mark
  12. It's interesting in an anorack kind of way to see how long the 'Fairlady' name has been in use with Datsun/Nissan. I cant think of many other manufacturers that have retained a model name for so long....... Ford and 'Mustang' being one I guess....I'm not going to include Camaro/Charger/Challenger etc as they are resurrections. Thinking about it Mustang might also be a resurrection :-(
  13. Something I would definitely buy if it were here in the UK...... http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/100791
  14. IIRC they end up like ponds when it rains ! I remember seeing one on a Z at a workshop in Horsham, Sussex and it didn't look good - as well as being full of water !!!
  15. Never been a big fan of race cars for the road but I like th elook of this one...... http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C127077/
  16. That'll be great. I think it looks so much better than the factory support.
  17. That's brilliant thanks Paul !
  18. I recently bought my wife an Alfa Romeo 147 that has gas struts to lift and support the bonnet. At the Japfest show I saw numerous examples of vehicles with the same application - although I dont recall ever seeing a 300 with them. Has anyone ever done this mod ? Any pics ? Any guesses on the required push pressure that would be required ?
  19. Ps get some lovely stuff on that site ! There was a 928 police car up for grabs recently !!!
  20. Not sure I prefer it over the original design........ http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4100_results.asp?sorderby=tblManufacturers%2EsName+ASC%2C+tblModels%2EsModel+ASC%2C+bOfficial+DESC%2C+tblCars%2EsType+ASC&action=simple%5Fsearch&coopid=0&lmanufacturer=10106&lcurrency=2&next=4100%5Fresults%2Easp&whatbutton.x=0&dealerid=0&bsubmit=true&lmodelflag=10497&bclicked=false&bshowstock=True&page=0&lCarID=1803426
  21. Can someone post up the phone number I should ring to buy a ticket that will let me park with other 300's please ? I rang the Japfest number and they just said 'Oh we're only selling general parking tickets' Thanks
  22. If I get there mid-morning-ish will I have to park in a general area or can I park wherever I want ? ie with all the other 300's ? Sorry to sound so vague :-( I wont know if I can get time off till the night before so not gonna risk paying up front........ Mark
