April Fools
My road tax ran out on 31st and I parked outside my office meaning to go to the PO shortly to get new tax. So I'm at my desk and this woman comes in and says 'oh you've got a ticket' I'm thinking 'F*CK the Nazis got me already!!!'. So I finish with her and go out to my car to find a ticket in a bag stuck over the tax disc. So I'm swearing and grumbling as I peel it off and go back into the office. Sit down at my desk and get it out of the bag. Now at this point I should say that it looked 100% GENUINE !!!!! I flipped it open to see what I'd been found guilty of only to see the followng categories ticked...... Parking in my space Driving a piece of crap I'm thinking WTF !?!?!?!?!? Turn to the woman I work with who is almost pi**ing herself laughing !!!!! B*TCH !!!!!

Rims for a silver zed.
I bought some 19" wheels off DP a couple of years ago for my 350Z in gunmetal with a deep polished lip - they were great value including tyres and looked great on the car and the service from DP was excellent ! If I can find some pics I'll post up. Mark

Want!
Mate I've re-read this thread over and over and I fear you may be right ! He was keen to pick them up and I did make it conditional on also taking 4 j-spec wheels with Yokohama tyres that were filling up my garage at the time and he didnt seem to object !!! Mark if you read this make me feel better and tell me they were scrap and you had to throw them away.......

I just saw this thread and am feeling a little silly about GIVING a set of these wheels to Mark (Topless) They were free to anyone who would collect. They needed a refurb but even so !!!!! DOH !!!!!:ohmy::ohmy:

A call out to all with Bayside blue body
Hey Murt Do you think he'd part with it ? It's good to know he's still got it - I'm glad it went to someone who has kept it and continues to appreciate it. What's he doing to it ? I sold it cos I'd bought a 350Z and the Mrs wouldn't let me keep both - a mistake really as I now own another 300ZX and could have saved myself so much hassle and money

doh! 85 in a 50
I sincerely hope you never kill someone or yourself or indeed just write off your Zed.......but I suspect you'll only realise having any sense made any sense when it's too late with an attitude like that........

doh! 85 in a 50
I know this is going to sound like my Dad but generally the speed limits we have in place are mostly sensible and tuned to road layout/conditions etc etc. 85 miles an hour is FAST and things can go wrong very quickly at that speed - someone pulls out or moves into your lane, tyre lets go (rare I know but does happen), child runs into the street.....so many horrible possibilities. And the chances of holding things together at that speed or dealing with unexpected occurences are vastly reduced compared to travelling at the speed limit. I'm not saying I never break the speed limit - I do - but 85 in a 50 or 60 in a 30 is not sensible....... Just my 2p worth.

Front brake upgrade - unbalanced ?
Thanks guys. Was looking at the Akebono set-up on ConceptZ but will probably wait till someone else has taken the plunge and can offer some feedback on them. I do like the whole keep-it-Nissan thing. Mark

Front brake upgrade - unbalanced ?
Hi all Just considering upgrading my front brakes as being an auto I obviously rely on them hugely in normal driving let alone anything spirited, however wanted to know what people's experiences are with regard to possibly unbalancing the braking of the car and therefore making it unstable under heavy braking. Does a front-only upgrade have that effect ? Should it really be a front AND rear upgrade to maintain balance and stability ? Any thoughts most welcome....... Mark

Payback, what have you done?
Some of these are brilliant - very funny and definitely 'wish I'd thought of that' stuff ! My mate over the road eventually got fed up with his very old aunt and uncle coming round to his for tea EVERY day for literally months so he started putting a few bits of gravel in the exhaust of their old Escort. Kwik Fit eventually persuading them it wasnt the exhaust at fault. Undeterred they carried on visiting until one day he put dog-sh*t under the drivers door handle......you can imagine the rest !

Rear arch repair panel on eBay
Hi guys Can anyone offer any feedback on quality of these ? My offside rear arch is bubbling and the bodyshop starting coughing at the possible price of panels from Nissan until I mentioned the availability of these repair panels but he expressed some doubt about the quality of non-factory parts....... Any reports much appreciated. Mark

Removing an airbag steering wheel
Hi Daz I do - I managed to get one from Zedworld. My car is a Series 4 without cruise control and they had a Series 1 wheel without the cruise control buttons - perfect !! In fact I've never seen another like it :-) I want to keep the airbag wheel as if I ever sell the car someone can return it to factory spec if they want to - although at this stage I have no plans to sell having just bought it after having regretted selling my old one !

Removing an airbag steering wheel

Z model identification
I wonder if there are any sitting un-used effectively brand new in de-humidified cacoons as part of collections ? Maybe someone who was collecting the whole Z range as and when they came out ? Maybe a full page 'wanted' ad in the national press :-)

Z model identification
Hey Philip can I ask how you managed to acquire your car ?

Z model identification

Z model identification
Hi all Just wondered if anyone can identify the following models: 300ZX BM7890 HZ32000178 300ZX KE8888 GCZ32516695 300ZX BF5555 H231300003 300ZX KE9999 GCZ3516782 300ZX KE8575 JN10RGZ32U0001939 300ZX BM700 HZ32-000085 300ZX KC1953 JN10RGZ32U0002036 I think the one with chassis starting GCZ32 is a TT like ours but the others ? GCZ35 ? HZ32 ? Are those starting JN10R something to do with the Japanese tuner Jun ? In case of doubt this was extracted from the Brunei listing - was dreaming of finding oil under my garden !! Cheers Mark
