  1. I agree Dave the Clearcorners.com lights are fantastic ! But how much ??? If I had the budget I would order the whole set - front, rear and sides.....and for sure the full clear spec on the rear :)
  2. Very tempting....think I even prefer them to 99 spec lights. I've seen them on US Ebay too. IMO about the best alternative rear lights I've seen :) Mark
  3. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b98354134
  4. Crap I dont think that worked......will try again.....
  5. I really like these rear lights but would they be legal here without a reflector as per oem lights ? Could this be got round with stick-on reflectors on the bumber for example ? (I know that sounds horrid !) http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/&ei=2agdSqirHtm4-QbAjY3OBQ&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dyahoo%2Bauctions%2Bjapan%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4HPEB_en-GBGB255GB255
  6. If you look in Rides for Markyb300 or Dcarey.....that's Bayside Blue and everyone who saw it loved it ! It's gorgeous in the sunlight. It is a Nissan colour but apparently the paint itself is expensive....twice the cost of most others as apparently it has to be sourced from Nissan - that's what I was told when they painted mine.
  7. I just dont want to leave a paper/electronic trail anywhere........for obvious reasons :)
  8. Just out of interest - and in a purely hypothetical attempt to resolve my own experience at the hands/feet of three pond scum - if I had a reg number is it possible to get an address without it coming back to me ?
  9. I had Yokohamas on at the time which were quite soft and they were RAGGED afterwards :) They were like Blu-tac by the end - you could literally pinch the rubber off ! I'm not sure how many miles I took off them but a good few thousand !! If I ever do it again I think it might be worth investing in some spare alloys and slicks or at least cut slicks that would get me there and home again - Surbiton is a reasonably short distance to make it drivable.
  10. IIRC Belfast sinks sit under the worktop so a jigsaw wont be good enough as the edge is exposed. I dont care how good you are with one you'll never make a good enough cut that way. Also I think they cut upwards through the material so the laminate is prone to chipping and also the blades tend to flex giving an imperfect cut too. Gotta be a router. My only tip is take your time......measure three times at least before you cut anything !! HTH Mark
  11. I did this at Brands a few years ago in my first 300 ! I can tell you without a doubt it is the BEST way to really discover what these cars are all about !! I booked the driver instruction too and honestly thought the guy was going to kill us ! In my car he was braking SOOOO late and yet the car did what he asked of it !! IIRC I managed about 100-110 before braking for the first corner.....and that corner is like falling off a cliff !! And then the compression that follows through the dip is amazing.......... Only bad bit of the day was when I broke the bolt on the bottom of the gearstick as I snatched fourth through the dip.......had to cruise back to the pits in thrid with a flapping gearstick......but they have a workshops there and the guy had a bolt that he gave me and use of all the tools I needed ! Top bloke !! I remember sitting in the pits on several occassions after a few quick laps listening to my car ticking loudly and watching the heat rise of it.......BUT the best time I ever had in it !!!
  12. .....is the shared appreciation of a truly great car ! I know that sounds like stating the bleeding obvious but what I mean is that the appreciation is generally across the spectrum of models and the owners personal preferences in terms of mods/originality. Can you imagine how awful it would be to be a part of a club like.....oh lets say the Aston DB5 club where everyone was obsessed with originality or something like that (Not that I'll ever be a part of that club :) ) I think its fair to say that we all own great cars !!! I'm not entirely sure I've put that too well but I'm sure you know what I mean..... Mark
  13. That was pivotal in my decision to buy it......kind of taken with the smooth look this time around. My last one had a Wings West spoiler on it after the original blistered and cracked (see DCarey's car - that was mine) Just as a thought was it a factory option to NOT have a spoiler or has the previous owner removed it ? And as a late series car I dont like the spoiler it would have had if fitted........ Mostly I like the colour and the fact that its a one-owner low miles mint un-molested car.....according to the dealer anyway :)
  14. Here's the link to the dealer I bought it off........lots of pics :) http://www.bestjapancar.com/nissan31112.htm Mark
  15. WHITE !!! This is mine........currently on a boat to Southampton :-)
  16. I dont know in terms of performance but they are HUGE !! There's a pic on the eBay link that shows them side by side. The rear caliper is larger than the Brembo gold front cailper !!
  17. Just had a reply from CZP to the effect that they hope to be able to offer the Akebono kit for 300's in about a month !!!
  18. $1,425 for the complete kit !!!
  19. Hi Eric I see what you mean about the price - if you factor in the excchange rate etc it starts to seem like a lot of kit for the money - 4 calipers, 4 rotors, 4 x brake lines etc. So do the rotors in their kit not fit out hubs ? I imagined that if they are a bolt on for the 350Z they would fit the 300Z too ? (I think the stud patterns for the wheels are all the same - so the mounting criteria too?) I appreciate that one would need to have mounting brackets for the calipers made up but I have read other threads on here where people mention such engineering being very possible...... Mark ps just looking at the size of the calipers - they are HUGE !!!
  20. I realise they are expensive but I think they look soooooooo cool !!! As a 'Nissan' part are they a straight swap for the 300ZX using the same brakets that one might use for a Skyline setup for example ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INFINITI-NISSAN-SPORT-BIG-BRAKE-KIT-FOR-G35-G37-2007-UP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a2096Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem29fdaf3681QQitemZ180349777537QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ebayphotohosting Mark
  21. Since the my Z is more than 10 years old I'm guessing it can be insured as a classic ? Does anyone here insure theirs as a classic ? Can you recommend a provider ? Any help much appreciated...... Mark
  22. Ooops sorry. Just getting over-excited about rejoining Z ownership :-)
