:nono: :slap: WRONG !!!!!! BLUE !!!!!!!!
  2. Hi Russ Same as yours I believe. Think I'll take them based on all your feedback.......... Mark
  3. And you can buy one these days for about the price of a packet of fags and a pint !!! HOW UNDERVALUED IS THE Z !!!!!
  4. Thanks guys. I've been quoted £1700 which I think is a lot but then like you say nothing is cheap is it ! I am considering them as a result of my experiences at Brands where I was being outbraked by everything out there - especially the skylines :( Any other suggestions for alternatives ? "which I have no plans to ever sell considering what they fetch" DITTO !!!!
  5. For sure - although I don't think it'll be as fast :( When is the next event ? Any ideas ? I was checking out 'easytrack' and they do a Spa Francorchamps day. Now that would be brilliant I reckon. Mark
  6. Yep it was me. What a fantastic day that was !! Dry and bright - couldn't have asked for more - except maybe another 300 horses :D What were you driving ? Mark
  7. Guys Anyone got them ? Any reviews ? Mark
  8. Not me I'm afraid. My logo is green.
  9. Hi Stuart Yeah when you drop over Paddock Hill bend it's like falling off the side of a mountain ! The compression through the dip is amazing ! I'm sure I was on the bumpstops through there. What was surprising was how much the car understeered. I was expecting it to be very tail happy but in reality it was very difficult to push the tail out. Only managed it once - a bit of lift-off oversteer (at 100mph !!). Just shows how well engineered these Z's are. There were quite a few Skylines there. Some very fast ones too. I managed to more than hold my own with a brand new Boxster S. I don't know what they kick out but aren't they a 3.2 ? And of course much lighter than my Z no doubt. So much fun !!!! I'm DEFINITELY up for the next Z track day. Mark
  10. Was it blue ? Could have been me............ Mark
  11. Sorry James..... I will shortly have a disc of 30 pics that the track photographer took. Mark
  12. It cost £189 for the day but I added £20 for a helmet and £20 for instruction as I wanted to get the most out of it. I had just put new discs and pads on so that should be ok and the tyres were 5 years old anyway and I want to get some alloys and tyres anyway so it was not really a consideration. To be honest I too was worried about my car as it is also a very clean example although not original anymore after a Wings West spoiler and colour change - albeit to Nissan Bayside Blue. But in reality I don't think it ever came close to an incident - everyone was very aware of everyone else on the track. Really I can't think of a better way to enjoy the true potential that our cars have to offer, in a safer environment. What's the point of owning a real performance car if you never actually try it out ? Mark
  13. OK I'm still suffering from massive adrenaline rush but here goes....... Brands Hatch track day yesterday - OH MY GOD !!!!!!! It was fan-frigging-tastic. To drive my car, without thought for cameras, pedestrians etc etc was absolutely brilliant. It's standard J-spec with a Scorpion exhaust and a manual gearbox, courtesy of Luke, but even so it was awesomely fast. And it gripped and turned like I couldn't believe. I managed to get 120 along the start/finish straight ! The only downside to the day was that the car dropped the bolt holding the gearstick to the selector rod - I found the bold and it has simply sheared under load. It was a bit hairy through Paddock Hill to suddenly have no gears ! Luke was on hand on the phone - top bloke, thanks - and an instructor at Brands lent me the necessary tools and I managed to scrounge a bolt from Race Engineering. A bit of road-side mechanics later and I was back out on track. I quit at about 4.00 when my tyres finally called 'enough' and pulled into the pits. The brakes managed to last pretty well but they too were starting to fade. Thanks to all the guys that helped me out yesterday - I don't suppose any of them wil ever read this but never mind. To anyone who's thinking about tracking their car I can only say 'DO IT !!!' You can't believe what you're missing out on. Now all I need is some bigger rubber, better suspension and about another 300 horses........where's that credit card ? Mark
  14. Geoff Were they a 'bolt straight on' deal ? No messing about with geometry ? Any obvious uneven tyre wear ? Mark
  15. Just wondering if our European cousins got Z's when Nissan was actually selling them over here ? I can't ever remember seeing a left hooker in the UK. Surely someone would have brought one in. Did they all get US spec left hookers ? Or wouldn't that work in Europe with various emmissions and other regs ? Mark
  16. I'll be there.
  17. Yeah I'll be at Reading, provided I don't spank it at Brands Hatch next week  Steve I think I did about £180. I just seemed to be driving from station to station :) Mark
  18. Guys Can I just bolt them straight on ? Will I need to mess with suspension geometry or lower the suspension etc ? Advice appreciated as always...... Mark
  19. Over the last week or so I've done about a 1000 miles in my Z and I didn't see ONE OTHER Z !!! Not one !!!! I would have thought that with all the imports arriving there might be the odd one to make up for the dwindling numbers of UK cars about but sadly no............. :( Is Reading the next meet in the Surrey/Hants/Berks/Sussex area ? Mark
  20. I would like to see statistics published - undoctored - showing ALL the factors in road deaths. The ad on TV at the moment where a kid gets knocked over by a skidding car is ghastly but why doesn't anyone ask what the kid was doing in the road in the first place ? He's not on a crossing ! He's run out from between parked cars ! Roads are for vehicles ! There are enough places for crossing where a child is not going to get run over ! Have we abandoned basic education of our children on this ? What ever happened to the Green Cross Code ? Have people - including children - been excused the responsibility for this ? It ALWAYS seems to be placed at the fault if the driver !! A girl was killed outside a school near me last year by a motorbike. She ran out behind a bus. The rider didn't stand a chance. He wasn't speeding but now has to live with that event for the rest of his life. It wasn't his fault. And what was the reaction of the council ? Speed humps ! Cameras ! And on and on.........really f**ks me off.......there were already THREE crossing points that she should have used !!! Ok.........stepping down off my soapbox......
  21. Stuart Is this true ? :D Actually I was going to ask you about video editing after I've done the day as I think you did the video of the Brighton bash last year. Mark
  22. :D I want to mount one on the rear spoiler to get a 'down the flanks of the car' look. I'm a bit worried about the camcorder falling off !
  23. Anybody got one or used one ? Recommendations ? Sources of such kit ? As always much appreciated.... :D Mark
  24. Yes I do ! Cheque's gone 1st class today. Mark
