"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
I'm in a bit of a quandary, to be honest... I want to jazz it up a little as I was never 100% happy with last year's retrim. But then, I don't want to change it too much as I don't want it to be too fussy. But then again, I'm a little "concerned" about it being boring (well, as boring as a red interior can be!) as, realistically, it should be a bit of a mobile showcase for what I do! Aaaaaargh!!!

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
Well, I'm in the prelim stages of redesigning my cabin this afternoon. I've done a few little testers for ideas and a lot of them don't work nearly as well in real life as they do in my head! The scheme I'm working with at the moment seems to be playing out ok, but I won't know for sure until I get a couple of complete parts mocked up. There won't (shouldn't, at this point anyway) be any huge changes to the overall appearance... more an updating and embellishing of things. But I'm all too aware of how easy it can be to go too far.... Fun and games....

Considering Evo or Auto
I imagine that your criteria are very different from mine, as I love the power my Zed has but, ultimately, it's the looks that got me hooked initially. I can respect the power, tuneability and engineering of an Evo, but I'd never consider getting one over a Zed because I think they're quite an ugly car...

Glad you've got one now, Steve :thumbup1: Saved me from having to offer mine up for sale!

Prices going up slightly
Just been having a look at this ad.... Yes, it looks an incredibly clean car. Like, eat your dinner off the chassis clean! Yes, it's (apparently) super-low mileage, on both the shell and the components. Yes, it has all-singing and all-dancing front mounted turbos on carbon manifolds and God knows what other trick bits. BUT! It is (subjectively) a bit unsightly on the styling front. It's a Q-plate. It's not a road car. The whole thing reads to me like the owner hasn't the first idea about how to "value" it and so they're relying on questions being asked to gauge the value. It's going to end up one of two ways: either some mental drift weapon, or an outright showcar (a la The Beast) where show visitors can peruse a big file showing the car's history. Question is... would either of those type of prospective buyers pay really big money for it...?

SWB legroom
The front seats in both variants have the same legroom as each other so, if you're ok in the family estate model, you'll be ok in the sports version. ;)

Make my zed look better
You know he's looking for a new shell after he crashed it, right Scott? Don't think he's had any luck finding one so far though....

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
I've taken some positive action today. :) After months of trying to live with the tailpipes that Infinity put on my new exhaust system (at my insistence), I've given up and decided to have them changed for something a little less... lairy... It's prohibitively expensive to travel to Bristol and back for them to do the work, so a specialist in Middlesbrough will be doing them a week today. Can't wait to get these enormous cannons changed for something more subtle! :thumbup1:

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
A new paintjob's gonna make all the difference to this car, Andy :thumbup1:

Hi everyone from new member.
This one, yeah?

Hi everyone from new member.
Well, I find that your "flip" paintjob doesn't actually look anywhere near as bad as I imagined it would do! It actually looks better on your Zed than on all the Rovers and suchlike that all got painted like that years ago... nice looking example, that one :thumbup1:

NEC 2016 - we need exhibitors!
I honestly thought there'd have been more people wanting to pounce on an opportunity like this... My ideal stand at something like this would be one example of each body style: so a LWB, a SWB T-Top, a Slicktop and a Vert. I think that'd be seriously eye-catching for visitors to the show! :thumbup1:

What did you do to your zed today?
Go on... tell me... I'm looking for the scarring, but I just can't see it....

What did you do to your zed today?
Had a read. All sounds very familiar... except for pulling the dash. The guide I read at the time recommended removing the clocks, not the entire dash. And my clutch pedal went in nice and easy once the clocks were out of the way.

You've two options here: you can either live or die by what you've read online... or you can listen to someone who's physically done the conversion... Your choice. There's a top bolt on the clutch pedal assembly that I simply could not get into position, or started on it's thread. I tried for a couple of hours, but no joy. So I removed the clocks and, lo and behold, I could both see and reach the top bolt with absolute ease. Job jobbed. Clocks removed, dash in situ.

You know you only have to remove the clocks to fit the clutch pedal right? Not the entire dash assembly...?

Few upgrades for next year. Thoughts?
I thought he had a forged rebuild as well..... As myself and AndrewG will cheerfully tell you, Si: the Selin setup makes a very noticeable difference to the driveability. For me, it's probably the most worthwhile modification (engine-wise) that I've made. :thumbup1:

NEC 2016 - we need exhibitors!
Well, thank you. :) I'd personally like to see Dougal's car there. It knocks complete spots off mine (as much as it pains me to say that, it's simply an unarguable fact) and is just a superb example of what these cars can be! It's got a nice interior too... ;) And it's a shame Gaz can't get across for this as his SWB is another striking example.

Jimmer loves fitting 3" downpipes, y'know.... ;)

Hi everyone from new member.
I have a hunch that Gibster's widearch sold for considerably more than £12k...
