  1. Welcome along. :) The flip paint may limit your sphere of potential buyers (a very acquired taste) but, if it's as good an example of a UK Zed underneath that, then you should be onto a winner at some point in the future. :thumbup1:
  2. S2 heater controls are different. You need the pod fascia and the heater ECU for them to work correctly.
  3. Why don't you do what Dougal did: effectively strip the car to an absolute bare shell and make it as brand new as it can be? It's about the only way I can think of that you're going to have a tip-top shell, mate.
  4. It's sooo bloody tempting to order that Type III lip........
  5. As I said to you when you were round here the other week: just make one absolute monster out of the black one and your blue wide-arched one! As I also said, I'm happy to help out transferring parts across from wherever to wherever, and I'm sure Paul and Kev would pitch in too. Chin up, buddy!
  6. I saw your reply before you edited it, so.... :thumbup1:
  7. Photo links not working when I convert that to IMG tags for you....
  8. I did warn you... ;) The Alcantara will fade over time, and it'll be much more noticeable on the black than it would be on a lighter shade. But as long as it's genuine stuff, it should last a good few years before you start to see any sort of real difference. :thumbup1: It's all a learning curve though and finding what things work within a car environment (aside from automotive-specific leather, of course) can be trial and error. And expensive!
  9. I spoke to him very briefly last night via Facebook. :) And by "very briefly" I mean he replied once....
  10. It's not like you've got 2 to choose from or anything.... :xxx:
  11. Famous last words there... ;) Good luck! :thumbup1:
  12. You might want to sign yourself up in this Group Buy, Andy... unless you fancy paying top dollar, of course... ;) Your "stripped for respray" pictures remind me so much of when mine was done last year!
  13. I'm simply basing my opinion on those I've seen with my own eyes and the build threads on this forum and elsewhere. What you seem to be saying is similar to one of dan300zx's old hobby-horses, which is that we (as collective owners) shouldn't even consider that our cars may be worth good money one day, because they just won't be. Your rationalisation for this is that they've been overshadowed by the likes of Supras and whatnot - basically, later cars. But how many old Escort owners would've imagined that their cars would be worth big money in the future...? I used to own Opel Mantas all the time when I was younger and I regularly paid £200 a time for a car that I'd run into the ground and then scrap. Nowadays, even the scrappers are selling for thousands! I'd have never predicted that. Long and short of it is this: as these cars become more rare, the price will increase for the examples that remain. This is basic supply and demand. The dealer who wants £20k is undoubtedly dreaming at the moment, but I don't think it'll be too many years before we see good Z32s changing hands for 5-figure sums.
  14. I've spent time under a number of Zeds, thanks. And surprisingly, they weren't rusty rotboxes. So I speak from direct experience as well! But as we can probably assume that the "majority" of cars are present on this very forum then you saying that the majority are crap is disrespectful, as I said previously.
  15. With respect, you're talking absolute rubbish in the part I've highlighted! There are plenty of examples on this forum alone that are having serious amounts of money and workmanship put into them, so to classify the "majority" as being rusty and knackered is simply hugely disrespectful...
  16. I was digging deep and still coming up well short of what I'd need to replace it...! Hopefully it's back up and running for the long term...
  17. Lazarus lives!!
  18. I've got a few new parts coming as it started playing up a few days ago, but still worked and did it's job for the most part. Yesterday morning, however, it decided that the only functions it was prepared to perform were snapping the top thread and breaking every single needle that was fitted! Of course, it decided to do this as I was almost at the end of a big job... if the new parts don't fix it (even temporarily) then I'm in a proper situation... For the cost of servicing and repairs, I'd probably be better just replacing it outright. Especially seeing as I can't afford to be without a working machine for more than a day or two at absolute most!
  19. As the title suggests, I'm about to have to shell out a substantial amount of money. Why? Because my sewing machine has finally died a death!! :( Very close to the end of a job as well, which means I can't finish at the moment... talk about lousy timing... :( Four figure expenditure looms large at Castle Mondo!! :(
  20. Would you not need the reg number for them...? It's probably your best shot at the moment, to be honest - nothing to be lost by ringing them and asking. The very worst that can happen is they refuse to provide the information!
  21. According to Facebook, the owner was going to pull the auction due to him picking another SWB up shortly... ...or something along those lines!
  22. Honestly, you couldn't script this sort of thing...!!
  23. It doesn't help that you've blanked the reg out, y'know... Have you no old documents or anything with the reg on? At least that way, you'd be able to find out it's current status. I don't recall seeing it on here since you sold it.
  24. I know you can buy them brand new from Z1, but I'm assuming that they'd only supply LHD versions... The ones Gaz has spotted are seriously expensive!! :pinch:
