  1. Ive removed the aircon condensor from mine (along with all the other a/c gubbins) and have had no cooling issues with mine, even over the last few days. The uprated Mocal engine oilcooler may be helping, as a large proportion of engine cooling is actually done by the the engine oil drawing away heat. The one thing i am going to fit (next week all being well) is a cooling fan on the oilcooler.
  2. A lot cheaper than getting vauxhall dealer to plug it into a tech1 or tech2!!!.......:).
  3. Does the engine management light come on?.i think on 2001 models you can still do the 'paperclip' test.check out http://www.topbuzz.co.uk, loads of useful vauxhall diagnosis stuff on there.the paperclip test involves bridging two terminals on the diagnostics plug which causes ecu faultcodes to flash up on the eml in a series of flashes that correspond to fault code numbers.
  4. Of course!, my mistake :).........other option is if you have an aftermarket alloy rad is to drill a suitable sized hole in it and get an aluminium boss welded to it, tap it out and then screw in a rad fan switch, wire it all up and job done :) On the subject of electric fans.........has anyone mounted one to intercoolers to pull air through them, was thinking along the lines of the small, but powerful, fans like you find on motorcycle radiators.
  5. Could be throttle position sensor........or a dirty throttle body, lets of vauxhalls prone to that.
  6. Would you could do is get a fan switch from a breakers......say off a v6 vauxhall vectra, calibra or omega and make up an adaptor to mount it in the bottom hose of the zed and then just wire it in.iirc the fan on those kicks in at around 80° ( iirc all vauxhall rad switches have the temp stamped on them).........but you could use the rad fan switch off most cars. One interesting point is that v6 vauxhall/gm engines run hot......and have an auxillary electric waterpump that continues to pump coolant around the radiator,in conjunction with an electric fan, to reduce heatsink after the ignition is turned off.this is to draw off heat and can run up to 5mins or so after switching the engine off.i am surprised that with the heat a zed produces there isnt a similar setup fitted.
  7. Just dont mention the war! :)........or get stubbs's in to do the building work!
  8. there may well be two holes on one side (same side as the starter motor) where the banjo bolts for the transmission cooler would be, these can be plugged with a blanking plug (most engineering/bolt suppliers should have them) or if the banjos, washers and pipes off the side of the box are in amongst the conversion he has bought the pipework can be left on and and the two ends of the pipe can be linked with a short piece of suitable hose and a couple of clips. Someone will correct me if im wrong....but i think uk manual boxes have a oilcooler with an external pump, hence why they get blanked of on a jdm as they dont have a cooler for the manual box.
  9. could be a number of things......might be worth checking all the connectors (ptu, maf, coolant temp sensor etc etc) under the bonnet and cleaning them up as they are prone to going green and furry!, could be something as simple as that.then check you have got a spark and go from there :)
  10. With so many zeds having their rear lights modifed or swapped for 99 spec, crystal or led's etc........will it one day become fashionable to refit standard red/orange units again????.might have to start snapping up standard units and hoard them! :)
  11. to be honest i find my zeds headlights to be good at night, not hid's or anything just standard :) For crap headlights you should try a Calibra at night!!! :(......very bad!
  12. No mate, was going to rip the n/a out, strip out the interior and shove a small block chevy v8 in it :)
  13. i had a go, was highest bidder for ages and forgot it was finishing as had stuck in a kia engine bay.
  14. she does look a lot safer without the booster, have you tried googling it to see if there are any exemptions to the law regarding booster seats?.How tall is she mate, as if she is over 140cm tall she doesnt need a booster.........also have you tried one of those booster cushions (no backrest) that older children can use, as opposed to a full booster seat (base and backrest)??? This might sound daft.....but would an adult dwarf need a booster seat? (thats a genuine question :) )
  15. As title, anyone buy the silver n/a from telford off ebay?.
  16. I got one with the F1 Racing clutch I bought, you can borrow it as long as I get it back :)

  21. i had a sierra 2.3ghia years ago and had just had it resprayed.i was stood in the queue at the local bank when there was a crash from the carpark........i knew it had to be mine (sods law and all that) and as i went out a woman in a shogun was driving off the front end!!!!!!!!...........she had reversed and pushed the sierra into the space behind it (a full car lenght, good job nothing was in the space behind) and the back end of the shogun had gone up the bonnet etc.......anyway, she started to drive off the carpark and im there shouting my head off and a guy at the end of the carpark stops her and she comes back.As she pulls up to me she says "im sorry...did i bump your car?"......i said "bumped it!!!!, you've nearly fu*king flattened it!!!.
  22. looks very nice mate.......love the UFO plate :)
  23. My nan lived in the sticks and her water was from a borehole and was the best tasting softest water every. The water here in telford, shropshire is really hard and leaves horrible water marks when you wash cars and dont dry them off.
  24. Cheers for the encouragement guys :).......have signed up to the hybridz forum, seems to be a wealth of v8 zed info on there as well as here so will be picking some brains :)
