  1. Nearly always due to the 'warped' disc syndrome. If your running standard setup, it really isn't expensive to swap out the discs for some cheapies if nothing else just to prove it. I would certainly look there especially if you're unsure of the last time they were changed and make sure the caliper pistons are working correctly as this can cause the warping along with over indulgent use. First off though have a quick peek at the tension rod bushes, the OEM ones are silicon filled bushes that can split and leak a gooey mess, I have heard these can cause the wheel to shake under braking as well.
  2. Just to be sure, how do you know its pants? If you've had a suspect MAF and you've changed it out, have the symptoms now changed or is it possible the fault is else where?
  3. Here's mine Funkysi... The flash has revealed some nasty dirt I need to sort out though! Same with the rest of all my switch gear, all as it should be.
  4. IMO these engines are really strong, but they now have a good age of them and mileage, some much more miles than is shown on the odometer! Factor in the varying levels of maintenance and abuse over all these years and some might not tolerate too much more!
  5. Well done! Seems you've got yourself a lovely Zed. Very much like the colour to. :)
  6. £3850 - that's a good strong price for an eBay sale. That's assuming its not relisted next week for some reason. Prices certainly seem to be climbing a little. :)
  7. That's a harsh MOT tester, failing it on just one number plate bulb. I know technically correct, but still harsh!
  8. I haven't, wouldn't and couldn't!, but I have definitely read on this forum that it can be done with the engine in. By all accounts it is easier to remove the engine.

  10. ^^^Well at least that's cleared up that little myth. Targas from LWB and SWB cars NOT interchangeable!

  12. These should come in at around £290. Cheap, but not cheap for what they are really. I may get a set.

  14. Did you go and view the yellow car after all? What's the verdict?
  15. I am the winning bidder. Assuming all is as it seems then I have indeed got it for an excellent price! Lets hope! I am paying cash on collection though, don't live too far away. Fingers crossed. :)
  16. What about these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Uncut-Blank-key-set-for-1990-1991-1992-1993-1994-1995-1996-Nissan-280ZX-300ZX-/271882322999?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f4d730437 This is what I used. Personally what matters to me is that all locks on the car use the same key. The ones I've linked to at least have the original key shape, they are a cheap replica. As for the Titanium ones, they are still replicas so what's the point in the extra cost? Ultimately though, each to their own...:)
  17. Pass! After spending lots of time, money and effort on all the boring stuff - cam belt, full service, all fluids, bushes, track rods, ball joints, water hoses, radiator, heater matrix, O2 sensors and even a new loom! I've been rewarded with a straight pass, no advisories! :balloon: A nice solid platform to now build on and piece of mind :) Visually though, looking at the car you'd never know how much money as been spent recently. Looking forward to spending some money on the cosmetics, trim and paint. :)
  18. Nice looking 95 Slicktop on the bay, shame its missing the tubs, but reckons to be a fresh import so should be clean! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX-Targa-5-speed-Manual-2-seater-Low-Low-Miles-/171802524073?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item28003a79a9
  19. I recently fitted a new BMC. I installed it dry then filled it up and bled it through the ABS unit. Job done, no air in the system, didn't need to touch the calipers and brake performance very good.
  20. So you've just completed an auto manual conversion, along with upgraded intercoolers and larger injectors? If so and you have not had the ECU mapped for the bigger injectors then there is your problem. It will be fuelling all wrong.
  21. Certainly reads pretty well and looks good in the photos! Proof is in the pudding though. Be interested to hear your feedback, as we all know many sellers bend the truth rather a bit too much and often they are selling a lemon! I wonder what colour the engine bay is?
  22. I think they might be old JECS 555cc injectors and were probably yellow when new, but have oranged with heat. Maybe an older version of these... https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=682 Why don't you remove one of the injectors securing caps to reveal the full view of the top. You don't have to disturb the seals and I wonder if the brand is etched out of sight under the cap.
  23. Yes, I feel your pain here! This should definitely be a consideration to anyone looking for a 300zx and debating the LWB/SWB. Having had a LWB, sourcing second hand parts from the UK is very easy. The SWB not so, however the likes of CZP and Z1 are your friend for all the new OEM stuff and it seems the SWB car is more common over there. :)
  24. Obviously not. I am also striving for perfection with Zed, replacing all sorts of OEM trim that have worn with brand new OEM trim right down to little things like the arrows ( ) on the window switches . Some folk on here would think very anal, maybe their right! Its costing me a lot and will continue to do so. The glass how ever is in very good, excellent nick so that's certainly not on my job sheet, money truly no object it might be a different story!
