In Need OF Pipe Help!!
That might be a heater matrix pipe - are there 2 of them criss crossing over each other - attatching to a metal pipe at the top and going into the bulkhead below? If so the part numbers have been mentioned on here a few times..... I think they are - 92400-30P00 inlet 92410-30P00 outlet try a search on these part numbers for further verification

I've just done mine with Houghtons - £340 for 5000 miles fully comp. Bargain. And mines an import - I checked specifically and was told its no problem.

Serious back end problems (!!!)
Can be the shock absorbers as well. Quite cheap to replace.

Simple auto question
Depends on how long you expect to be stopped there - if its just a short time then its fine but longer than a few minutes consider sticking into 'N' and use the handbrake.

Steering prob
It can do , but sometimes it can seem OK.

Steering prob
Check the fluid first, then suspect the speed sensor

Slick 50
Dont do it mate - I think it uses teflon - which Dupont owns the patent, they tried to ban people using Teflon for engine treatment but failed. Try checking Google for stories aplenty on why not use this stuff.

Decent insurance at last!
Just got a quote from Houghtons - £395 for the new Zafira and £343 for the 300! I'm paying less for 2 cars than I was on the one.....bargain. Oh - and if anyone is wondering why I've bought a Zafira its for my baby girl to ride in with her entire bedroom. A lovely 2 litre Turbo Diesel - 45 to the gallon. Nice.

Autogearbox level check ?
Reading should be taken in N while the box is warm and the engine is running.

Blown Water hose!
Unless you can pressurise the system without running the engine. Yes.
-
Tyre Rubbing/melting
Its either too low, tyre too wide, or suspension sagged or damaged. It wont be HICAS - check your power steering fluid level for that one.

Plenum water hose removal
I'm having one of mine bypassed at the moment - Phil at C&S Wood is doing it but its fiddly I think there is one pipe that runs under the plenum - I think its metal, then to a rubber hose, then into another metal pipe - I'm ahving the length changed into a rubber hose. I dont kow if you can bypass that as Phil hasnt menthioned it as an option and I reckon he would have done if only to say its not a good idea....

Gaming, where it all began!
I've still got my Atari console with games - loved Defender on it. Got 2 Atari St's at home - with all my games and demos - cant bear to part with the nostalgia of when games had playability and werent rated just on graphics!

What brake fluid?
Either DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 as Craig says - dont use DOT 5, its silicone based and not compatible with our system. DOT 4 is probly plenty if you change it once a year to keep it fresh from water.

Engine Jap or UK?
Hmmm interesting....I'm the first owner of this car from when I had it imported over 5 years ago so I'm assuming thats how it came over from Japan.....It'll be interesting to see how other imports stack up on the fuse box cover!
-
Engine Jap or UK?
The fuse box cover in the engine bay is in UK...the one in the drivers footwell should be Japanese - but thats not to say the previous owner just changed it! I dont specifically know how to tell if an engine is off a UK or an import, as far as I know the engines are identical.

Idle Problem - Desperate Plea for help!
Does it sound rough when you use the accelerator to give it some revs - lumpy? This sounds like your'e not running on all 6 cylinders. Could be a coil problem, an injector problem, a spark plug problem, or a PTU problem. First - the 300zx doesnt have ht leads - the engine is Direct Ignition - each spark plug has its own personal coil that sits on top of the spark plug - which is why you cant see them. You will see in the engine bay from the top 6 metal brackets with 2 bolts each on them These are the coil packs - next to them sat lower down will be the injector connectors. Try wiggling all the wires you can see while the engine is running and see if it improves the idle - if it does you need to clean up all the connectors as they get full of corrosion over time. If none of that seems to help do a search for the PTU as this can go funny - start by cleaning the connectors on that as well. The PTU problem usually manifests itself when the engine gets warm - as it all cools down the problem can go away for a short while, and then come back. Good luck!

Saw the new BMW 6 series today!
I saw one the other day and thought it looked quite nice

Zed brakes poo when cold?
If they seem OK then stick with them, the Lucas ones I got from Halfords would fade very badly when enthusiastically braking from high speed for slow corners - was very disconcerting to say the least - I binned them after a couple of months!
