Unless you have the camber adjustment kit, alignment wont help as its non-adjustable.
  2. S13 for a few years before getting the Z
  3. I've had the binnacle and the clister out before so I'm OK with that - which pot did you adjust for the scale? All good info so far and we've managed to make this post quite long now!
  4. When you have drilled the holes post a pic so I can see where you did them - that swould be ideal so I dont have to dismantle the whole housing!!!! Which pot does what in the picture? Also - just to be cheeky - If I wanted to change the speedo to UK speeds by using the resistor method, where and how is that accomplished? Pictures speak a thousand words as they say, and not being an electrician, I love pictures!
  5. Its a TT but I'm buggered if I can see one!!! Much rather leave it to a garage to do!
  6. I dont think my auto box oil pan has a plug to undo to drain the fluid, short of undoing about 18 bolts I was thinking of flushing it by using the pipes that feed the oil cooler and fitting a tap to let me run the engine and flush new into it while letting the old drain out.....Does it sound feasible or is it likely to be to difficult to juggle the new oil into the system before it all drain out! Any comments appreciated.
  7. Sounds good Mark - post up how you get on.
  8. So - to clear up the confusion - can anyone supply a picture?
  9. Nelson Mandela is sitting at home watching TV and drinking a beer when he hears a knock at the door. When he opens it, he is confronted by a little Chinese man, clutching a clip board and yelling, 'You Sign! You sign!' Behind him is an enormous truck full of car exhausts. Nelson is standing there in complete amazement, when the Chinese man starts to yell louder. 'You Sign! You sign!' Nelson says to him, 'Look, you've obviously got the wrong man',and shuts the door in his face. The next day he hears a knock at the door again. When he opens it,the little Chinese man is back with a huge truck of brake pads. He thrusts his clipboard under Nelson's nose, yelling, 'You sign! You sign!' Mr Mandela is getting a bit hacked off by now, so he pushes the little Chinese man back, shouting: 'Look, go away! You've got the wrong man! I don't want them!' Then he slams the door in his face again. The following day, Nelson is resting, and late in the afternoon, he hears a knock on the door again. On opening the door, there is the same little Chinese man thrusting a clipboard under his nose, shouting, 'You sign! You sign!' Behind him are TWO very large trucks full of car parts. This time Nelson loses his temper completely, he picks up the little man by his shirt front and yells at him; 'Look, I don't want these! Do you understand? You must have the wrong name! Who do you want to give these to?' The little Chinese man looks at him very puzzled, consults his clipboard, and says: >(Get your best Chinese accent ready .....) 'You not Nissan Main Dealer?'
  10. Its way past its best, dont want to spend loads as there's some rust on the tailgate that needs sorting so the whole tail will need a respray. Thinking of going for the smooth option with no spoiler - what parts do I need from the Z centre to fill in all the gaps the spoiler leaves behind? Does this option still meet with general approval for looks after its done or has current thinking changed? :)
  11. Its deffo 5 miles out all over the range.
  12. If there is only the one pot will it let me calibrate a speedo that consistently shows 5mph too low on the dial? IE when showing 25 I'm actually doing 30.
  13. Does angone have any pictures of the back of the speedo which shows the calibration pots and which one does what - I need to adjust mine but I'm not touching it unless I know which one does what! Thanks in advance.
  14. its true, they do say it feels like they are doing the washing up in your tummy, sensation but no pain. The epidurals are good, my mrs said so, she's a midwife, and just had a baby....but only a 40 minute labour!
  15. Im sure she works for T mobile too! Bloody customer services!!
  16. How does the calibration of the speedo work and does anyone have any pics of the potentiometer - my speedo reads 5 mph too low!
  17. For everything else, theres Mastercard?
  18. It wouldnt be illegal to own one, have it fitted - but if you get caught using it, you will be in trouble for obstructing the police from doing their job. Which is robbing us of our hard earned money - Just fit it in a nice unobtrusive place so its not obvious. I think the Skylines could have them fitted as an option in the front bumpers.....So there you go!
  19. Pulling to the left - get a full 4 wheel alignment done - tracking is never enough on these cars and most places just fiddle about without fully understanding......Been there done that. Speedo going nuts is a bad conversion - probably got a loose connection in the wiring for the unit somewhere - Quite common in these conversions. Burning rubber - if its not the tyres, then could it be oil? Any smoke on idle?
  20. You may be able to do it from your pc if you have the software that came with it.
  21. They are the same as the Impreza turbo and the same as the R32 Skyline - but dont buy them, they arnt suited well to our car - its too heavy and they wont last long.....Dont get Red Stuff either - plenty of posts on here about the best pads to go for....

Start in the wet - you can do much lower speeds - easiest way is to turn in much too tightly into a corner and wait for the rear end to lose grip, then just steer it through the slide - you should find the whole car drifts nicely. Find a nice wide road leading off a roundabout and practice!
  23. Have used Phil at C&S Wood for a few years now and cant fault him for knowledge, friendliness and isnt too expensive either - I dont go anywhere else.
  24. I'll have owned mine for 6 years this September - not been off the road for anything much yet - normal wear and tear stuff - Paid 9K for it in Sept 1998
