Mate - I'd steer clear of this - too many parts missing....you have now idea what else is gone.
  2. Well theres 3 ways... One is to get the system tested with a meter that can detect combustion gasses in the radiator. Another is to take the rad cap off and look for :- air bubbles like fizzy pop appearing once its warm a creamy emulsion in the radiator water - usually by the filler neck. Anything like that and the head gasket has gone.
  3. It could be a broken or loose connection in the speedo cluster - I had this and I took the speedo apart and resoldered all the joints - bingo good as new.
  4. Fookin ell! That sounds like a load of people where ripped off big time! I remember Johnny when he was just selling parts....Supplied Phil at C&S Wood with a dented exhaust that fortunately I hadnt paid for so it got sent back - If I'd paid for it I bet he'd have blamed me for denting it!
  5. This is well known for the tension rods to cause it - Change them first if you've already bought them and take it from there.
  6. Actually - you could well claim you gave her your car registration and name etc and she is lying - her word against yours. After all - you got hers didnt you? If theres no witness then she cant prove a thing.
  7. Its up to you now anyway - you could go the whole hog and claim all sorts of things now - loss of car - loss of earnings due to illness etc - Make her claim much bigger than it would normally be. I'd remove the upgrades pronto just in case - you can put them back later. Plus if she has been to the police then go and see a solicitor as there will be a record of it she will use in her claim.....you need to get some advice quickly. If you reported it to your insurance co asap - before the cops came round then that should do to head that ine off as she cant claim you hit and ran as you did report it to the insurance - which you wouldnt do if you where hoping to avoid it - if you see what I'm getting at. She seems like a bad person so watch yourself
  8. Yeah, but you will have your version and she will have hers - but no witness - The insurance will go 50-50. To win this you need a witness to say she was behind your car when she hit you - That said - there must be damage to the back or rear side you your car - so dont know what the insurance co would make of that as it suggest she hit the back of you. Still marginal though.
  9. This will be a 50-50 as no witnesses.
  10. I'll just say 2 words 'Jacques Villeneuve' Thanks.
  11. If its the original suspension then it can sag a bit over the years and lower the ride height without you realising - you may need to buy new suspension to cure it - springs and shocks - I dont they are expensive though.
  12. I've got Denso Iridiums in my stock Auto TT and never ever had a problem - perhaps you just had a duff plug?
  13. I took my radiator cooler out of the loop and fitted a mocal cooler instead in front of the oil cooler. I'd recommend doing it. I've since fitted a manual radiator to it as my old one was getting a bit long in the tooth!
  14. They'll be due up for a change soon and as I'm not too keen on the pads in at the moment (Vauxhall) then I'd thought I'd ask for some suggestions to improve them - pads only though. Will EBC greenstuff work ok on that car - I wouldnt put them on the Z as its too heavy but would they suit the Zafira? Thanks all in advance!!!!
  15. Once you've done the mods - disconnect the battery to reset the ECU - This will then re-learn things and lose any 'adjusted' settings it has adopted.
  16. Might be worth checking the TPS connector as well then! Again - search will give you loads of info on this as well.
  17. Try checking the Mass AirFlow connector at the airfilter - It may need a clean as the MAF can affect the revving of the car. If its not reading it right you get this 'Limp Home' effect. Also check the connector to the Power Transistor Unit - Make sure this is nice and clean. THEN (!) Check the connector to the Crank Angle Sensor and make sure thats clean too. All of these can have an effect on misfires etc. If you do a search you will be able to find loads of stuff on these items bu they are all at the front of the engine bay and easy to get to to check and clean.
  18. I've got £300 from Houghtons on classic policy -
  19. If the steering wheel shakes WHEN braking it can be either brake discs or the brake tension rods being worn. If the steering wheel Shakes under normal driving at certain speeds its more likely to be a balance problem. If the seat of your pants vibrates then your prop shaft is likely worn or the bearing needs replacing. All of these are common Z problems at some time or other. Mine is shaking between 60-80 and I'm going to get the wheels balanced while still on the car. I agrre with an earlier post that our cars are mor prone to showing slight inbalances up and some fitters just do a quick job coz they cant be bothered.....

Steve - how did you get on with the radiator and if it fitted ok where did you get it from for that price?
  21. Danny, yep - put me down for one and let me know when they come in. my email is 'abiltcliffe 'at' tiscali.co.uk' Thanks.
  22. Danny - sent you an email from your website about details on the brace but havent had anything back from you except from the automated response. Shall I give you a ring? Basically I'm after a price including postage and also if you have them in stock! Thanks.
  23. Netgear sells good stuff - stick to one make for all the stuff you buy though. There may be a compatibility list on a web site somewhere of tried and tested makes
  24. If you can email me your details then at abiltcliffe'at'tiscali.co.uk then we can sort arrangements out.
