Dear reader,

I have now finally enquired about a '90 Auto 3000ZX TT that has been standing at a local garage for months. The car is in great condition but the salesman was quick to point out that slags had tried to steal some engine parts off the car a while ago. They tried to steal the turbos (luckily didn't), but the ECU and another part is missing. The problem is I don't know what the other part is called - or what it does. Here's a description and location?

looking at the enigine from the front there are two steel water inlet and outlet pipes.Following these pipes to the left - right behind where they connect to the rubber pipes there is a silver square unit with fins on it. This unit is fixed by 4x bolts. This psrt is missing. I can email a photo with more detail if needed.

This unit is missing and all that remains is the plugs that connect onto it. Can someone please tell me what this unit is called and what it does?

Thanks in advance

Jacques.

Sounds like the PTU unit

Mate - I'd steer clear of this - too many parts missing....you have now idea what else is gone.

PTU. Readily avaible for about £30 for a S1 PTU, or £130 for a more reliable S2 PTU.

ECU can be picked up for about £100 of one of the breakers.

Yeah deffo ptu

LMAO how the hell would they nick the turbos? Engine out job
