Project Dittohead Red
Someone has a proximity alarm I swear and on a recent daddy morning would wake up and cry if I moved more than five feet away. Meaning I was working in two minutes bursts. To the point I stuck her on my lap to do up the last screw. Anyway snapped this for future prosperity.

Garages
Had a bad experience a few years ago with a midlands based "Japanese specialist" more of a chop shop really. It wasn't this same person btw. I as you did assumed I had not a lot to stand on but after a chat with citizens advice I was quite surprised. Once I got my shit together (a few years had passed) the garage agreed to a "goodwill guesture" which was paid. Basically we settled out of court and they never accepted fault but I was happy enough with the outcome. Get your paper work in order, receipts, emails etc and send a letter explaining your complaint. That you've given fair chance for a repair to be made and that you seek compensation. Give them say 28 days to reply and offer a suitable solution to the issue for both parties. Do not mention legal action at this stage. If at that point a statisfactory solution has not been reached, then you can escalate to small claims court. Good luck. I hate poor service. Everyone makes mistakes it's how that's dealt with that separates companies. Sounds like you've had a mountain of failures. Keep us up to date.

Community CCTV
According to results found by Scotland Yard published in the Telegraph upto 80% of CCTV evidence is useless for prosecution, in fact for every 1000 cameras you solve one case. The camera can lie, very well actually but the real issue is it promptes a false sense of certainty. For example the accused may have been wearing a blue top and have brown hair, cctv shows a person in blue with dark hair, suddenly this is evidence. Or is it just a person in a blue top, you see my point. In fact the majority of witness testimonies are questionable as the vast majority of us are just too suggestible and will "remember" things all to readily. CCTV does have its uses but they aren't as far reaching as many think. I wouldn't advocate its abolition, far from it but I'd be a bit pissed off if my neighbors threw up a camera that overlooked my property etc.

Coolant leak.
It's just a point of failure and getting to those pipes is a nightmare if in some cases not possible without plenum removal. Why not link out the offending piece as temporary measure until another job that requires plenum removal comes about. Just a bit fiddly.

I have one of those sat here btw, someone on here wanted one and I never heard back so it's just been sat on my bench. I removed it because I could basically, it was redundant.

Project Dittohead Red
Been a bit busy recently with family stuff and the house, finally bit the bullet and brought a new kitchen so the house is all over the place. Our old 80s kitchen is being recycled into my utility area which will allow me to start a proper work shop at last, (sadly not big enough for a car to fit). Springs are all switched over and the struts rebuilt and installed. So that's 6kg front 4kg rear, should be much more compliant now and maybe faster on real roads. Some more components for the rear brakes arrived so watch this space on that. Slight cock up on the adapter piece to convert from flare to banjo, so there back to my mates shop for tweaking. It's a similar issue to this; Some shinny bits and sweets turned up from Driftworks, still got to assault the rear bumper tab though. Die grinder might be a good shout. I cleaned up the PS pump and went to fire up the engine to spot the leak. Sadly there wasn't enough juice to start her up. Checked back to see if I could see the drip and tbh it still isn't clear. Annoying but not a big issue.

Code 34 Knock Sensor - The adventure continues!
It's likely shorting on the main harness. That's what mine was doing, pain to repair as it's a screened cable and access is crap.

Looks like an option.

Mis-threaded spark plug - Panic!
This. You are more likely to just make a mess than anything else. Even if you recut the top two they will be duff threads that are more likely to allow the issue again. The only proper way to do it is to helicoil the thread. I would probably try to wind the plug in square very gingerly but that's got a fair chance to backfire on you so I wouldn't recommend that.

Coolant leak.
I'd advise you do it once and properly, doing the plenum water bypass. Pretty sure you can loop it out even as a temporary measure. Apparently it's to prevent an issue with the throttle bodies in very cold climates, i.e. not southern England. https://z32.wikispaces.com/Coolant+Line+Bypass

Nipple help#?
The fun bit is getting all the air out of the bloody thing. I found I had to seat the nipple so to speak, doing it up, loosen, repeat until the nipple marked and a seal was then achieved. I had to tighten it up to a point I didn't exactly have faith in either the first couple of goes. You may remember that I successfully buggered up my front caliper drilling out a snapped nipple and Gaz had to come to the rescue, helicoiling and cutting a new nipple seat for me. I hate brakes.

Too late now.
Indeed they are and I do not wish to be one of those people, however; sadly abstaining plays into thier hands. I will support anyone's right to vote or not to, power is in the choice, not the action. The feminist motivation doesn't fly with me either or history. If you feel strongly though I would recommend a spoilt ballot, whilst they hold little weight they are at least proof that the motivation (or lack of it) was not driven by apathy. Sadly they don't take abstinence into account, 2015 would of been rather different if they did. See below. I remember after the EU Ref a chap the next day said to me "it's disgusting, I'm ashamed." I said oh right. "What did you vote?" he asked, I replied I'd rather not say, I was at work and it's not very professional. I then asked him if he had voted. "Me personally?" He replied, yes I said "oh I didn't personally vote". I just shrugged and walked off. I was always told, it's fine to abstain but you cannot moan if you don't get what you want, suppose that applies to most things in life. Oh and btw I lost my bet, greed took over my initial prediction which was closer to the result of no overall majority. In fact I predicted a labour/Liberal coalition. Odds of 16-1 for a labour majority were too much of a temptation. NM hey.
