  1. So what's been going on over the last few weeks. Despite me doing some longer days at the moment at work, being half way through the kitchen refurb and sneaking off over the fields with the rods whenever I can some slow progress is being made. The rear brakes are now on, thank christ, it's taken a while and there's still some fettling of the caliper offset in relation to the disc to get it perfect. The caliper shifted toward the wheel arch when it was fully torqued down leaving the outside pad closer to the disc. Some going forward and back and discovering that Driftworks no longer stock the brake lines a call to Hel Performance directly revealed the only option was a trip the Exeter to get things done in time. That sounded a crap option and thankfully my local hydraulics shop came to the rescue. With a different option. The power steering leak was located, turned out to be from the redundant hicas feed banjo. Except it wasn't, it was in fact the block that bolts to. Closer inspection left me with a pile of bits as it sprung apart. Turns out it was the pressure regulator valve. I was under time pressure and rather than pull the pump and proceed with caution I reassembled it, you guessed it right, wrong. Breaking it in the process. So new pump o clock. So I actually ended up further behind where I started. :taz: alternator out and some other pipes etc. Thankfully another local afflicted person had a pump which I collected today, cheers again Gaz. Turns out my battery is shot, over a day or so it drops from 12v to 10v, useless. It should still be under its 4 year warranty so il be off over Halfords for that debate this weekend. Hopefully by the end of next week we will be on the floor again. Just depends on how distracted by life I get in the mean time.
  2. Now that's the positive update out the way I have a negative point to tell you all and a request. Just thought I'd explain and apologise, I am no longer able to attend this event this year. Gutted really, as it's the first time I've missed it and with me taking the role of organising it I'm pretty embarrassed as well. I'd of thought this was going to happen due to the car not being ready, whilst that's close to being true it's not the case. It's also not a proper reason like poor health. The truth is such. There were two work rotas, these are printed months ahead of each other and we approve them before they are concreted in. Sadly I missed an error where the two overlapped, with the result of me being scheduled to work on both weekends the 29-30/07 and 5-6/08 in error, these things happen. Sadly I saw the August date and thought, "oh well that's fine" forgetting about the July date. So the basic jist is I'm working and its a commitment I cannot rearrange. I only realised this this morning. I wont be abandoning things however and will continue to answer your PMs and help out sort everything upto the day, I just wont be attending personally. Now the show must go on, literally and will. So I am looking for someone to jump in last minute and firstly lead the convoy from the rally point to the show ground and to make sure the clubs get into the show ground properly. Anyone who is up for this please PM me and we can discuss it. Again massive apologies for this pretty basic over sight and I hope you all have a great time.
  3. I didn't mean Z specifically. Many cheap and old cars only display MPH.
  4. So even if it's a factory speedo stating MPH only they expect you to change it to read both?
  5. That's how I interpreted it to, feels wrong but yeah.
  6. So just on American versions then. You'd assume so, [re the relay] the ignition system is not switching the full load of the starter, not on those pissey cables. In fact you can see the starter wired separately. So logic says it must engauge a relay. The relay is there in the diagrams as you say however those diagrams are generic auto and manual, with both the relay and inhibitor labelled A for auto. It would appear its switched via a Blue/Yellow wire on A5, switched on the ground. Starter is provided with Permanent Live. If I read that correctly. There's an indication labelled M by the starter relay showing a link, I assume bypassing the Relay.

Lou9890 25. tandyn300 Please let me know so I can amend it and then update the front page. We won't be having a premeet the night before, lack of enthusiasm for it just makes it a non starter. So as per previous years will have two choices; Arrive casually and be parked up as it suits you before 9.30am in the show ground following the blue signs for Simply Japanese to the motor museum. or There is a Rally point to catch up and join the various convoys which will depart at 8.15am from The Applemore Tesco, the address for that is as follows; Sizer Way, Dibden, Southampton SO45 5JA If I could request those that do wish to be in this group are present for 8am as we will be leaving at 8.15am sharp, if your late and the convoy has left then I do apologise but we have alot of cars to get into the site, plese make your way to the showground. Im sure it doesnt need to be said but Tesco have never moaned at us using this as a collection point, the store is closed till 10 being a Sunday. They also however haven't given us permission to have a car meet in thier car park, so some small notes on this. This collection point is not a meet it is simply (no pun) a collection point akin to a lay by which we must respect the land owner and rules of the road. Any behaviour that is antisocial or would jeopardise this part of the process will not be tolerated. We should only be present here for 15 minutes to half an hour, there are no facilities and you attend this at your own risk. This week stand passes will be produced, this is a very basic piece of paper for you to print out and display on your dash. The purpose is to display your club to the marshals so we all get parked together. Tickets are available on the website and have on previous years (I will check this) been available on the gate. For participants (those in a Japanese car parked on show) the prices are; £10 for adults £5 for Children Normal ticket price applies for those turning up as spectators only. I hope that covers everything, please let me know if it doesn't. I am busy at present (hence why I was doing this at 5am) but it's a more immediate priority now than it has been.
  8. As I understand your right, UK manual cars do not have them. USDM cars have them activated by the clutch. Not sure about JDM cars.
  9. You on about the Starter/inhibitor relay?
  10. On this subject the way the ECU is wired should each and every ECU output be an earth aside from the power in? As in is everything wired to the same formula as the injectors, permanent live with switched earth.
  11. Sorry for the less intense management of this so far this year guys, a certain small person is a massive time hog. Will get on top of it all this weekend.
  12. What's happening with the Veilsides then?
  13. Registering a UK car isn't cheap or simple, you need a good grasp of the lingo and the process. Registration of a non EU car such as a JDM import is even more expensive and long winded.
  14. I thought you might be thinking along those lines.
  15. Why do you want to run 14" wheels?
  16. I'm sure I can help facilitate that.
  17. I suspect it will stay in France, however if anyone is seriously looking at it I may be able to offer storage of it in France.
  18. Well done Art, have you removed the rest of the AIV system?
  19. Replied to your PM.
  20. Totally agree. Cars painted flip paint crap and covered in half a super yaucht are just not popular anymore. Prices are rising out the rock bottom ones of recent years.
  21. Nope, get yourself on the list.
  22. Good to see you back mate.
  23. 32c here today, no wind. Even indoors it hit 26.7 and 65% humidity. Swear central.
  24. Worth looking on eBay etc as people buy them use once then sell on.
