  1. i take it the red one is yours?
  2. ok, il bear that in mind.
  3. is it laqourable like to make it nice and glossy like wet carbon panels?
  4. yeh but if you dont do it centyrally you will cause yourself a headache. its best done with a pillar drill off the engine. unless someonne whos good at it is local and willing to help your best bet to to pull the tub and get a local engineering firm to do it fopr you wont cost the earth.
  5. so i guess after its all run in the next thing is rolling road, see what shes hauling.
  6. better but im not a fan of the single exit route and that uk rear bumper, well lets say they arnt my favourite either.
  7. ha murt! in response to the south coast livers.... grrr. you think its bad coming down for a weekwnd and dealing with their crap, you wanna try living here. then you start to realise, some things firstly none of them are from here, secondly none of them actually live here full time, and thirdly they are all idoits! the more money the less common sense and the ruder they seem to become. its a lovely place to live down here in the winter when no holiday making holiday home owning puff puff dickheads are about. soon as it gets to about this time of year we dont dont bother going out and about cos you cant get anywhere. we cant afford a house because they are all owned by rich london commuters and second home owners. :( i work for these people alot doing their pools some are fine, most are awful. its just it takes some of them longer to throw their toys out the pram than others. wouldnt be so bad if they actually brought some work and money with them instead of just driving the prices up and meaning theres no real work round here. i love where i live and grew up i just cant stand the 10% of people who make it seriously annoying!
  8. pump is rebuilt the problem was one of the o rings that is sealing the resivoir feed, bit a fiddly job to take the thing apart, and put it back toghther so now all ive gotta do is put everything back and top up the fluid. :D if only it was as easy and quick to put back as it was to say.
  9. extra cables taht go no where are one thing a zed really doesnt need theres plently enough mandatory cable to go around. ugh eletrics i hate them!
  10. this would be part of the diagnostic procedure.
  11. agreed, however lets just check some silly obvious things. the over drive button is definatly engaged isnt it? your not mistaking 2 for third and your over drive is off? is there enough fluid in the box? i drove mine to work once got on a dual carraige way and it went very quickly upto 70 with the revs up and then continued with the revs up, i paniced a little before realising i had it locked into 2nd on the box. there is a diagnostics procedure for the box, worth trying. id say its probally on its way out, honestly do what everyones doing and convert to manual if you hav ethe cash as the auto is crud. and way too complicated, the service manual section for the auto box is about 5 times as much if not more than the manual.
  12. its not so much how muc air can be moved in one go but how smoothly this process occurs. this is where the difference between quality and cheap arises, how the bends are bent some are simply rolled this reduces the diametere in the corners causing restrictions. this is the sort of thing you are paying the money for. that and the material and welding quality. i would likly think the 2.5 inch system is good for about 600 hp. as a guess dont forget thats a 2.5" exit per 3 cyldenrs. the back box shape can also have a bearing on the process, single exits process gas easier than twin exit. (per back box) in reality you probally better off looking at your maifolds etc rather than fixating on the exhaust itself, another point worth noting is that without enough back pressure within the system it will effect your torque and affect spool up times just as equally as too restrictive.
  13. i dont think they are "fixable" there was a kit about that stifened to spring to prevent early losses. however most people opt to either replace with a known good working recirc or to input a wastegate that wastes to atmosphere. dump valve or what have you.
  14. well you know the solution then :D
  15. seems to be that everything has changed but the maf. i really think you should change that, or at least do a quick test on it.
  16. hellraiser has some fancy pdq thing taht displays loads of realtime reading from teh ecu. think thers about 6 different things it measures. based around the datascan program. you would have to ask him the specifics of it though.
  17. i wouldnt, bearing in mind the nature of these cars its a right pita if you get stuick some place in park and cant move it into neutral to tow it or whatever because you cant get power the car.
  18. yes and the black strip from the spoiler. looks nic ethough bud the standard alloys look quite pleasent in black.
  19. i cant believe its that simple lol. well gotta get the bolts undone yet before i get too ahead of myself here. lol. cheers guys. i removed the rears by, undoing to top mounting bolts unbolting the bolt closest to me on the camber arm and the furtherst away on the toe. then the hicas arm and the lowest bolt on the strut, then levered it back and it dropped out.
  20. you will need a photobucket or simular account then yopu simply take the image code from under your pictures youve loaded to it and post the link in the box.
  21. ive done the rears, took about 2 hours odd including stripoping all the boot out, the first side took about twic eas long as teh second side, because i knew the method. but looking at the fronts what? im a little confused, it looks like i can quiote simply undo the strut top and bottom undo the central bolt and lift out sideways. but that seems far too simples. any advise? other thing, how important ar ethe gaskets on the top i dont have new ones to hand atm, and didnt fit any on the rear. (prepared for an asking there.) also how tight should the bolts be done up, ive done the rear up pretty darn tight with a 1" socket and spanner. but they arnt torqued up. i suppose i should add at this pooint teh car is floating off the ground on axle stands, and no wheels
  22. done that afew times at work can get a bit er exciting.
  23. i would also say possibly maf. or a loose connection sum where. might be worth having jeff have a quick look at it he isnt too far from you.
  24. well im sure some people are rnning upto 16 psi but i suppose its worth bearing in mind the worn internals. i would say to be 100% sure you could run aftermarket ones.
