  1. ive got a snapped perspex strip that you could vynal wrap and know one would know the difference its yours if you want it.
  2. no lol mine is in bmth atm hiding till the weekend. spacesaver doesnt even live in my car. it was possibly the other red one in ringwood, its a series 2 non turbo. he isnt on here though. yours isnt white by any chance is it with a mid level spoiler?
  3. lol even closer than ypou think then i live half the week in winton, round the corner from hellraiser and the other half in poulner in ringwood :) you may have seen mine floating about its red
  4. drop us a line if your in bmth there are three others of us.
  5. probally oil blowing out the rocker covers on boost where the valve covers become positive pressure. buy a fire extungiser just incase, run your engine up to temp the blip the throttle on the cam cover, looking to the ear of the block you will probally see small plumes of smoke coming up. you may even see oil droplets forming under the car. its not uncommon it is highly annoying though. and in extreme circumstances dangerous. def needs investigation though.
  6. dont doo it the zed needs every mm of back end rubber to keep in firmly in a straight line. plus the aspects of over streched tyres popping off the rim, mid corner. its a fashion fad from the world of four pot engines and bonnet bras.
  7. its always been my understanding thats imply putting the cats back in doesnt cause it to stop gaain once they let loose they let loose it may mask it slightly better but they are still gone. certyainly teh back pressure ftrom the cat seems to ensure a longer life syptom wise but the issue can still occur. anyways i think this sub coversation is starting to turn into a debate a drag away from the threads purpose.
  8. shortys def get away with being spoilerless easier. but a spoilerless zed is like a castrated zed. somethings missing and it doesnt look quite right
  9. not sure but i think that belonged to a chap that had a tattoo studio on the highstreet round the corner its in the right sort of area. name was ricky, if it was that car it got ploughed into a bus stop and is in storage in the local area. he currently lives in the usa with his new wife.
  10. you dont hav eto go buying a brand new mig welder, renting one does work out expensive however. see if some sum 1 local will let you have a go with theres you will so see how much easier it is that you think.
  11. if you get really stuck kev looker from class of the 60s has the diagrams capri specific
  12. i think being totally honest you should learn to weld, its something you will always use its no whete near as bad as it seems i would teach you if i where closer. look at this way once upon a time you couldnt do mechanics. now your happily popping the engine in and out of a zed. we all have to start sum where. take your time get your weld on and take some brave pills. the engine and box are half done arnt they. the shell will take time, mig welding is quite easy to pick up most of it will be tacking up not running lines. honestly mate you will be laughing at it once you learn
  13. awesome and simple conversion only interesting bit is the wire modifactions, pop some pics up when done :D
  14. sorry mate if its tub seals caused my decatting putting them back will not reverse or halut the problem. from your previous stuff though when the issue started i would say its pcv related, its probally just whats left burning off could take a few 1000 miles for it to all burn off. so hopefully its just that. :D
  15. same i was told that they wont touch anyone at till there 25 on anything and for teh zed you have to be 30
  16. take it to zedworld, or jimmer. might be some extra travel but there are far too many places out there that know diddly squat about the zed and just cause you more hassele than its worth. too many horror stories of "jap specialist" garages about that have cocked up. take it to a zed specilist it will be cheaper in the long run possibles in the short run also. and the work will be done properly
  17. not worth buying in my opinion not unless its so cheap and for breaking
  18. it was my understanding taht the acid etch goes on first before the primer.
  19. seems a little low that ohming. anyways tcheck taht you definatly have a spark at the plug by grounding it to the plenum, dont touch the engine when you do this or use a spark detector only costa few quid. then check the injector is pulsing with the aid if a long screw driver, you should hear the same rhmum on each injector. i would likly say that its either a faulty connection or a faulty injector.
  20. have you primed it with acid etch primer? i know when i did my spoiler i was told this was essential for spraying ontop fibreglass.
  21. we really a great bunch of people. ha
  22. yeh it will do with teh flash on, hope you didnt take that all as critisisum, was only trying to be productive. make sure you laqour things when your happy with them else you will be repeating the process after 12 months.
  23. hopefully sky will quote me comfortably atm for renewal which i may renew if its suitable, then re quote myself once i hit the 25. although sky tried to tell me that 25 makes no differnce. however i dont see how that can be seeings as i have far far more options for comapnies once i hit the magic 25. lynbrook wont touch me till im 30 and heritage etc all want me to be 25
  24. you will probally struggle, to get those deeper scratches out now. yopu need to go back a few steps unfortunatly, get a scotch bright pad for and angle grinder this should take out those lighht scratches. then its back to sizle and compound. you can use a soft mop and some autosol for the final super mirror finish. be carefull though because it will go everywhere. its all to do with direction aswel, i can see how you have worked round the cas you should cut the whole thing at 45 degress then reverse the 45 cutting across the grain. dont add another direction though and for the final mopping just do one direction. :)
  25. well im due to renew in about a month now but my 25th birthday is round the corner in september. how much impact will turning 25 actually have on insurance prices??? and what should i do in the mean time?
