  1. sure its dribbling in? would have thought it would struggle to get past tbh. but certainly yes it would cause the smoking if oil was getting in there
  2. can take a few thousand miles for the crap from the pcvs to clear out. might be worth doing a leak down test, while your busy.
  3. wouldnt take my pint glass there to washed after that.
  4. mk1 and two escorts are loverly but this does nothing for me. its not even rwd. :(
  5. silly question and dont take it the wrong way, is this your first rwd car? often people who are new to them are suprised by the heat coming from the tunnel because they have never had a gearbox in there before. :D
  6. assuming that the pump was working and that you havent take it apart, it sounds like an air lock, if the pulley is rotating it should be working. ive just had the same issue, i had taken it apart and put the internals in 180 degrees out seriously easy to do.... i jacked the front up makes it easier then worked from lock to lock with the engine off, cap off and filter out of the pot. you will see loads of air come up when going from lock to lock. then once tahts stopped fire it up and carry on till no more comes out an assisant makes life easier. other than that you have the solenoid and the electrical system taht controls that. very frustraing isnt it. and youve def put in auto trans fluid not just normal powered steering fluid? probally teaching you to suck eggs. can take ages btw.
  7. any further info on this, how long is a standard sump plug? ive got one to fit but this has put me off slightly
  8. second on the battery polarity revrsal check it at least. i managed to do this a few months back. the charger i used was old and the leads had ben bodged they where revrse so i ended charging the batt reverse did exactly this.
  9. i hate people that dont control thier dogs, if you cant see it your not in control. winds me right up when a dog comes bouncing through the bushes and ambushes you no owner to be seen, these people really should think more like you said imagine if that was a nipper! my dog is a little shite, hence why he doesnt come off the lead. he wouldnt do much damage cos its only small but i dont trust him, so he doesnt get let off simples!
  10. my under cowling was there when i brought it then it just er disappeared....... whoops
  11. its pretty quiet tbh flights and displays carried on, he did a good job missing an amusment park fulla kiddies, one of the guys in my fishing club dragged him out the river by all accounts. i saw three firetrucks shooting through. didnt think too much of it. gonna go be nosey at the crash site in a few days once evrythings quitened down, just curious really. its only afew miles from my house literally about 3 maybe 4 miles
  12. thats an awesome discovery shame the tt wont just hold the gtr diff, make life a doddle. could the tt diff housing potentially hold the na gearing.
  13. hype and fashion. same as skylines, alot of them like the gts's etc arent worth what they are asked for.
  14. maybe you should explain what your intenions for use are etc, obviously if its just for road use some benifits or dissadvantages wont apply
  15. smoke or steam? keep a very close eye on your coolant levels buddy. could be a very expensive trip if you overheat
  16. hoffbrau is alright, and usually pretty reasonable. i know my where new 'local' will be lol.
  17. no they were degraged and falling apart, i replace them when i overhauled that powersteering fluid lines etc. sadly nissan no longer sell the resivoir feed pipe or the hicas return.
  18. right this is my maths. (rim width/half) to find the wheels centre. then plus or minus the offset to find out where the rear face of the wheel would sit. by that centre line so. (rim width/half)+? then measure the resulting number from the hub face out to the arch and see where it lies..... is that correct? ie a 245 rim with an offset of -33 would sit 89.9 mm away from the hub face. :detective: i think im right its just i cant spell very well and the maths isnt exactly top notch neither.
  19. probally best to speak to silver bullet he is the closet to you. cant remebr what his garage is called atm
  20. right internal diameters of the pipe i used are, 10mm and 19mm i also used a 21mm 90 degree joiner and the 19mm slides onto this without too much brute force.
  21. apprantly the works ones are 245 wide with an offset of 33. so by my maths i did (245/2)-33=89.9 i then measured from the hub face this much out giving me a a pretty damn nice stance. but then thats my first ever go at working it out.
  22. agreed with jaikai the heater matrix has probally been disconnected to stop heat coming in or because the matrix leaks.
  23. im looking at several wheels atm i do like the rays but im also looking at some works aswel. but the rears are offset 33 running 245 tyres on a 265 rim i believe. they are both about the same money. just cant decide atm
