  4. 250 miles now still got smoke on the overrun, possibly less though.
  5. how can you expect the fan to draw air efficiently at idle through the rad without the shroud to guide it, it will take the path of least resistance which is simply ulling it from all around not through the obstruction of the rad. get it fitted :)
  6. The boost gauge wont move from the far left much when stationary as the car doenst build boost in neutral, it might build like 2psi, if it wasn't working it would just stay at 0
  7. er...... gearbox wise, input and output shaft seals, the main gasket for front cover plate, gearstick bushes, trust bearing, pinion thing for the clutch fork, clutch plate, rubber boot for the gear stick and flywheel bolts. engine end, manual pilot bush, rear crank oil seal. You will also need a braided clutch line the long version this allows you to simplify the hydraulic lines a lot, and makes the process far easier. Gear box oil mt90 , it also might be worth checking the reverse light and neutral switches, as its far easier to sort it before you fit the box. not all of that is strictly necessary but there things to bear in mind/ do if you can. You only want to do it once.
  8. it is however worth while, doing a compression or leak down seeing's as its had a history of overheating and with the cast block and ali heads its easy to warp the heads or blow the hg.
  9. tbh if its been sat that long the exhaust is going to be saturated, probably rusted aswel with water in the rusted pitted metal, I wil take a good hard drive to blow all that crap out.
  10. This is something that happens when dump valves arnt set up right, so it could that.
  11. Have you still got the aivs attatched?
  12. Loves trans ams the bull nose ones are the ealier 7.4l block arnt they?
  13. Telling off for what it passed its mot with it on didnt it, I say jog on plod.
  14. I would help but I don't do London lol.
  15. mongoose is the common choice for those wanting a quieter system, I've got a full japspeed system including the decatt, its loud but its not mega loud. It doesn't set off car alarums like my capri used too.... hahahaha I had a pair of hks backboxes which I've now scrapped, they were quite quiet, I believe they were hks silence or something, looked meaty but were actually quite quiet.
  16. I think you would be well worth sending it upto to zedworld and getting them o cast an eye over it and assess what you've got and what sort of condition its in. The zed engine isn't that complex once you start getting used to what's where. The trouble is dirty connections and miles of shitty old rubber hose and cable that has got very hot in that compact engine bay and fractures cracks etc causing all manner of problems, this in turn leaves you open to mechanical problems. If well looked after the vg block is good for 300k+ miles, abuse sees them die prematurely. If its not running right it will run like dog poo and last bout as long as a mars bar on a tropical beach. If you've got the cash, a full engine rebuild and new loom will transform the car, that said a comprehensive freshen up and service will get it running so much better. Fortunately your in the right place and its worth asking if some of the local guys round you are willing/able to cast an eye over it for you, im sure if you supply the tea they will turn up and plague all over it leaving it in a far better position than now and youll meet some decent chaps.
  17. You wont be able to change the offset that way without runnning excessive negative camber, unless your prepared to strecth the tyres to get a better clearance or roll and pull the arch they wont fit without rubbing. Even with some strecth you will syill most likley need to roll the arch. The only reason they didnt rub before is at the higher ride height the travel was suffient for them not to touch.
  18. Um nope? Pretty average choice of width for aftermarkets. The wheels offset is wrong so it doesn t5 rise into the arch it hangs out the arch and catches.
  19. have you not got a list of previous owners on the v5?
  20. yeah thats the main two lol
