  2. Telling off for what it passed its mot with it on didnt it, I say jog on plod.
  3. I would help but I don't do London lol.
  4. mongoose is the common choice for those wanting a quieter system, I've got a full japspeed system including the decatt, its loud but its not mega loud. It doesn't set off car alarums like my capri used too.... hahahaha I had a pair of hks backboxes which I've now scrapped, they were quite quiet, I believe they were hks silence or something, looked meaty but were actually quite quiet.
  5. I think you would be well worth sending it upto to zedworld and getting them o cast an eye over it and assess what you've got and what sort of condition its in. The zed engine isn't that complex once you start getting used to what's where. The trouble is dirty connections and miles of shitty old rubber hose and cable that has got very hot in that compact engine bay and fractures cracks etc causing all manner of problems, this in turn leaves you open to mechanical problems. If well looked after the vg block is good for 300k+ miles, abuse sees them die prematurely. If its not running right it will run like dog poo and last bout as long as a mars bar on a tropical beach. If you've got the cash, a full engine rebuild and new loom will transform the car, that said a comprehensive freshen up and service will get it running so much better. Fortunately your in the right place and its worth asking if some of the local guys round you are willing/able to cast an eye over it for you, im sure if you supply the tea they will turn up and plague all over it leaving it in a far better position than now and youll meet some decent chaps.
  6. You wont be able to change the offset that way without runnning excessive negative camber, unless your prepared to strecth the tyres to get a better clearance or roll and pull the arch they wont fit without rubbing. Even with some strecth you will syill most likley need to roll the arch. The only reason they didnt rub before is at the higher ride height the travel was suffient for them not to touch.
  7. Um nope? Pretty average choice of width for aftermarkets. The wheels offset is wrong so it doesn t5 rise into the arch it hangs out the arch and catches.
  8. have you not got a list of previous owners on the v5?
  9. yeah thats the main two lol
  10. I suspect every damn connection on that cars engine bay is going to be corroded if its been sat outside for a few years without running.
  11. now you`re an offical owner! oh hell yes your not in the club till your clubs made you bleed.
  12. 0-60 6 seconds? What's that with 4 overweight people in it? most reviews vary from 5.2 to 5.5.... anyways great to see the car getting some praise for a change, and being viewed as a classic. One day they will be worth money honest.
  13. may be able to come along but im at the rolling road day in Bristol on the Saturday so It depends on a few factors.
  14. Probably assumed it was a 200sx, people are real bodge it barriers arn't they. The buzzing from the back is probably the fuel pump, and the belts and viscous fan can be squeaky if not quite right. The electric fan shouldn't run unless the air con is on or you overheating.
  15. Thinking about it they wont affect the ride height just the subframes height, as the shock and spring will dictate the ride height still....
  16. Where did you have to fit the packing rings?
  17. hrm didn't think about that, although really the ujs should correct that I spose. did yours come with a little metal washer like 3mm or something? or is that something they have added recently? I wondering wether I could bin that aswel giving a further body drop. - - - Updated - - - or are those for the bottom?
  18. I think if I understanf rightly the driftworks poly ones reduce the height by about 10mm, which would be great. I can see now after you explaining how they work, if the bush is shagged though, yhe collors wont help will they?
  19. have you fitted the poly ones before?
  20. I was looking at those collor things aswel, but to me if your wedging a 5mm flange in there your going to be raising your ride height... has anyone got solids?
  21. Do you need a spacer with the es style ones?
  22. Whats the deal? I've seen poly ones solid ones etc? some are saying with the solids you need spacer? confused! also do I need to fully remove the subframe to change them? or can I just drop it six inches sort thing? or is dropping it six inches the same as dropping it out completely?
