  1. I believe once your manual the neutral switch is responsible for telling the ecu to advance/retard the timing as and when the car is in gear. Could you take a timing measure with a volunteer knocking it into reverse and out, as it pops in and out the timing should change from 25 to 15 or the other way round not sure.
  2. yes that sounds broken. :(
  3. should be plug and play mate, its simply taller.
  4. would I not get blue smoke on idle at start up though? because i don't just normal condensate white clears after a few minutes of driving.
  5. Oh and the pvc's.... Im not 100% confident on them as they are not oem. However I do feel slightly more positive.
  6. Done some investigating today with the little free time I had. all of the intercooler piping is clear, or as clear as to be expected, certainly not over oily or dirty. The plenum itself has like a tidemark up the side but no visible pools of oil, the tide mark has ben there since I got the engine. Checked the oil level which is the same as it was 100 miles ago, but too few miles to tell hey but yeah. I also watched the oil pressure, at idle this stayed at the first notch, rising with the revs. The smoke on start up is pure white and I did a condensation collection by sticking some cold metal next to it, what was collected was pure water, with a little black dust, so I happy with that. I also had a look at the exhaust gaskets and joins theres no oil pooling round there or evidence of it. I also popped off the oil filler cap, the engine idle changed when this happened, I assume this is correct? I also pulled the dipstick whilst idling and placed my thumb over it, no pressure was felt, I take it this is also a good thing? I am as of yet to do a compression or leak down, however after even more reading today I would seem its not unusual to have traces of oil burning out the exhaust on overrun for upto 2000 miles! im confused as to why oil burns on the overrun, whether its simply more visible or whether theres something else to it :s
  7. There are two cables in the front near the power steering fluid pot, these are used to take the feed when you do a manual conversion. cant remember off the top of my head what colour but I could point them out if you get me. I recon you could take a spur from there.
  8. Is it possible for the pcvs to not seal properly so when your on vaccum on closed throttleitsucks oil out the valve cover?
  9. Lol neither me or hellraiser are little squirts but that is a heavy box lol
  10. Imagine the state of thier lungs! Heavy smoker huh.
  11. The box is fecking heavy for that, on an old ford id go that way everytime bug t5 he zed box is a lump. As above raise the front, to get a better angle then roll ot it in. you may find you need to manipulate the the box a degree or two to get it all to line up on the splines. Once its on use the longer bolts to pull it in.
  12. No in a ln underground balance tank fitting a level sensor, literally up to my eyes in it.
  13. Had to go for the evening straight from work. Grrr
  14. Cant atm mate ive gotta go underwater for a bit. You about later?
  15. Because the noise they make when full of water sounds like when kids suck the empty drink that gurgle noise and it comes from the footwells thought he might be hearing that.
  16. Your need an eye test.
  17. Is that 410 all in? They need to sort it out they would sell 4xs as many at half the cost, for a bit of molded plastic. Cant.imagin ws production cost is expensive.

  24. Recent smoke issues that my car has had, have come, gone and reappeared differently. Im now starting to gear myself into the reality that I will have to rebuild the block, due to the smoke. I believe that the whisp of blue on overrun is one of my oil rings on the way out. Being realistic I cannot afford to do an engine rebuild, ive thrown the best part of a months wages at it over the last six months, and with trying to get a deposit together it would beirresponsible and selfish to keep throwing money at this car. The problem is very slight the car still pulls like a train and recently got good compression, and has rebuilt tubs. I dont know if it will pass an emmission test nect year for mot, so I can and will continue to use the car till then. Next january. Nowits not 100% that there is anything wrong with it, it may just be the residual oil or something simole but I have a gut feeling it isnt. I really dont want to break/sell but ive had enough really. This isnt a for sale add, I will not sell it for ay least another 6 months, more of a public expression of frustration and face of reality. :(
