  1. I pulled the front apart to fit the bailey dump valves ive got and found out the bungs were the wrong size :) other than that its done bog all and until the right bung turns up will continue to do bog all :(
  2. dunno haven't done it myself, and without having them infront of me I couldn't possibly say. It may be that you can undo the top plate and swap them over, which would mean compressing the spring for safety reasons, it might involve cutting down the plate.
  3. oh you didn't mention that part.....the top mounts are round a believe instead of the oval shape used on the z32.
  4. Its manual mate, I'm not pulling it(I hope, I don't need to, ive only just put it back in!) we did mine by leaving the box in the car, I cant remember why.
  5. The chap that did it corrected himself later, saying that there was no need to remove the plenum etc. But yeah I agree, for the heartache its gotta be easier to just pull off the connectors and undo the box and subframe and pull the darn thing, you were there lol you know what a knob getting them off the manifold is out the car.
  6. Came across this, personally I wouldn't bother after doing it with the engine out as theres a few bolts that will be a dick after 20 years of not moving. Anyways a nice clear and simple guide. http://www.atri.se/nikoz/z/turbos.html
  7. $350 shipping!? **** me they sending it with a personal escort! Id be going for the smaller ones anyways the 535 are a bit big for me. All pie in the sky atm :( however you need to know your options to know what to save.
  8. I say take the money aswel, the Porsche could be a basket case. I like the caymen but there must be a reason you don't see many of them, boxsters I see millions 911s of all types I see dozens caymens very few.... does make you wonder.
  9. or that actually probably abetter package http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_343&products_id=1080
  10. hrm that's what I thought, I spose really then the choice sensibly would be building hybrids or getting hold of some of these from the states. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2429&Car_Type=300&UID=2013030913571482.10.116.65 which with the required 550cc injectors would end up costing about the same as the tubs alone here...
  11. Im assuming the list gets more expensive the further down you go?
  12. tbh I was looking at my dps an thinking if its the same placement and they are large enough.. it would be dead easy to just get a new flange waterjet cut, cut off the old one with a slitting disc and weld on the new one.
  13. :s if you simply mean replacing the damper as a complete assembly its piss easy on a zed and will take you about an hour with a cup of tea and casual approach.
  14. oh right proper ones are bb tubs? that's better journals are as you say a bit old school.
  15. Right, whats the drawback on the hybrids? And what sort of damage would you expect for 28s?
  16. Am I right to understand that essentially when you hybrid the t25 to make one of those t25/28 that a few people use, that essentially what you do is use the t25 core which is the same in the t25/28 etc range, with a t28 front compressor wheel, a bored out t25 front housing and a t25 rear housing? Because looking at the t25 exhaust housing I cannot see how you can bore it out any larger to fit the larger wheel. I understand they produce less power than a genuine gt28, I assume this is because your not using the exhaust housing and rear compressor so cannot achieve the same effect. If you switch over to true t28s the exhaust housing is 5 bolt? So that would require different downpipes, and relocation of the actuator as they aren't designed to be where they are on the t28 as the t25s are clocked for the zed.... anyone care to educate me?
  17. You want ngk, pfr6b-11 the 11c is for the twin turbo, but you can use the 11c in an na, gthere twice the price though.
  18. just go through them, systematically pulling off the coil pack lead off, it should drop in rpms and note, if not that ones not working. Obviously you do one at a time, and listen, id try not to drive it until your satisfied its running on 6. These cars are prone to poor connections, from the 20 year old connectors cracking apart too them being corroded with crap. Id advise new plugs anyways if you cant trace when they were last done, yes they are expensive but they will last and na plugs are half the price of tt plugs so its not such a problem. One of the first things you should do with any zed, is unplug and clean every last damn connection on the engine, and re-crimp the spades for a better fit, do an oil and filter change, and do a flush and fill of the coolant system.
  19. I had this a while ago it was genuine, you can phone paypal to double check though.
  20. I might have some time tomorrow if you want to swing it over here.
  21. Loads of ideas :) are you sure your running on all 6 cyldnders?
