  1. Great day. All that mooching about in the sun has left me all sleepy haha.
  2. Yeah, check all connections. If your connectors are old and crap the air speed and vibration can see them pop off.
  3. Sat behind funkisi in the boiling sun in the que... But it's working....
  4. Get yourself a 3D background like this Joel. It will transform the thing. http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/accessories-backgrounds-c-146_149_156.html
  5. Were aiming to be there at 9am buddy.
  6. See you all tomorrow.
  7. Apprently it's bad luck to remove yen from the car.
  8. Just to finalise this. It's all sorted. With a fair bit if swearing and cut knuckles the pan was swapped. On inspection it was definatly bent, off the engine is was obvious that it wasn't right, the square shape of the pick up jammed into the pan tells a tale. Anyway, it's all swapped over and I now have correct oil pressure a after a few laps of the block it's nice a quiet. Just got to burn the oil out the exhaust that came from the old engine.
  9. Fairly sure the air con sub fan kicking in on a cold start indicates ECU failure. If you've got a big enough leak to see a good amount of unforced smoke from a smoke pellet it's probably a fair leak. Didn't you have an issue last year where the top pipe from the turbo split? Maybe it's happened again...
  10. If your really keen on having it LOUD then why not fit an electric dump tube. That way you can flick it on for hooligan mode, and have it shut for when your bored of it/the police moan/mot time/track days. There's a whole goats if occasions when you don't want to be ultra noisey, esp once the novelety runs off.
  11. Yeah come on down.
  12. Mine has two choices right now. Work or be clean. I'm going to choose working lol.
  13. That's a shame but it's life eh. Maybe next time :)
  14. Ah good. Be good to finally meet you mate.
  15. I actually prefer the dark. It's simple and works well with your cars colour.
  16. As said, you've got that big old maf followed by a bottle neck. It's probably no more effecientcy than stock. Your only as strong as the weakest link etc, which you've retained. I recon you'd gain more from 2.5" intercooler piping than going 2.5" to 3" on the exhaust, that said that flat spot can't be helpful.
  17. Senders probably duff mate, they break very easily. Mine however was surging and low generally, confirmed by mechanical gauge. The culprit; If you look carefully you can see where the pick up tube has been crushed against the pan. The replacement pan, as it should be.
  18. This is what my gauge was doing..
  19. Depends if it's the right diagnosis...I'm just a hobbyist so by no means guaranteed to be right. I'm just thankful that I have enough knowledge and tools not to have to pay someone else to do this level of stuff. I'd still love and intend to have a professional rebuild of the engine. Still there's five days till Sunday, if I'm quick and things go well the car may still make it.
  20. Just to update this, I currently have naff all oil pressure. I believed this to be the sender but it was confirmed by a mechanical gauge. It looks like I've managed to dent the sump, probably during the hoofing about stage. So before Sunday, I've gotta pull the pan and replace which means front subframe removal. I'd currently assume it won't be ready and il be in my daily driver...
  21. Nope. I used to have insurance with them but it was half the price with sky and I'm now on a classic policy with footman James which is a token amount tbh. Less than £200 for the year.
  22. There's not much on that side. Turbo feed line, run from the front to the turbo. It's a pita to do the nut on the turbo up in situee. Sure it's not the rocker cover?
  23. Wow, bobs right up there. Considering the issues reported the other day he's really had a good day. That Granada seems to be a monster.
  24. What's going in then mate? You going to get it recovered home?
