  1. Yup. At least garret are common as muck. Those PE tubs aren't even cheaper really are they. Not many companies making turbos suitable for the z.
  2. Anything more than 500 is pretty useless in a Z32 on the road. There just isn't enough grip to use it. If the wheels are spinning your not speeding up as fast as you could. We've all punched it in second and it's lit up the rears even on the old chip and boost, stock on crap tyres. Infact mine did this morning, haven't used it on a few weeks, stone cold tyres, bit of boost and sideways. Whoops.
  3. Completely agree. Mines never going to be a monster, it's already unpractical and very harsh. Pot holes, drain covers, large chunks of gravel, ouch. It's very competent through the corners though. Responsive and reliable is key.
  4. I agree with what your saying there Jeff, however the cost of rebuilding stock isn't a large gap between those hybrids. Even a pair of gt2560s are about 1200. Admittedly they aren't a straight fit but they are a massive improvement over stock, even just the whole more modern reliable turbo side of the argument. I rebuilt my stockers with genuine Garrett rebuild kits and paid for A professional rebalance. It certainly wasn't cheap...
  5. They have built some serious turbos for different cars. Including that bright green 1200hp GTR that was all over the place few years back.
  6. Sequential turbos, worth $30k and modified heavily due to the F&F. Mate it's not a supra you know this yeh?
  7. That's the car yeah. Seen full sun pics and it's almost grey blue lol, weird colour.
  8. Me any Ollie that work there went to school together.
  9. In fact if it's the car I'm thinking of it's actually silver lol. Just a funny pucture.
  10. Why are you going for Matt then?
  11. Go for satin mate, it stays looking fresh longer.
  12. If it sounds like a tiny machine gun it's probably the battery has insufficient power. If it's an older battery, with the sudden drop in temperature over the last few days my monies on a failed battery.
  13. Overheating and black smoke. That's an interesting one. I recon you could have more than one fault there. Black smoke is most likely to be overfeuling. You say it's over heating, what's the indication of this? Stock gauge? When did this start? Have you changed anything? I think you need to get it hooked up to consult and do some old school diagnostics to check the basics. It doesn't sound great. Check the temp senders as well. A faulty ecu temp sender can cause all sorts of issues.
  14. It would likely be cheaper and easier through Mike but as you say...
  15. Shipping will be painful but you soul likely get it by the weekend through Z1.
  16. There's a pesky solenoid/valve on the heat exchanger itself that fails open or shut. Mine is open, so I get roasting heat non stop. There's other crap like a sensor in the roof that fails.
  17. Driftworks. Only thing is they don't have the locating bushes. If I was you I'd be ripping the interior out and getting it high in the air and cleaning and refreshing all the underside so it's future proofed and you know what needs fixing before going down the bolt on mods route. Then getting a major service sorted, cam belt etc. it's not like your in a hurry.
  18. Pretty sure gregs car is silver.
  19. From what I understand our cars suspension doesn't really make the best from a strut tower brace. The load isn't applied here like on a McPherson strut car. Those two tiny M8 bolts torqued to like 30ftlb are just a location device. The load is applied laterally to the upper and lower arm mounts. So I theory they won't do much. However, there's a fair bit of flex in the z32 shell, primarily because of how the monocote shell is produced. The front isn't very solid with the rear. The difference were feeling is likely an improvement in overall chassis regidgitity rather than the the effect of bracing the struts. There are some brackets that go in the inner wing and tie the front better to the shell. Reportedly these are a great addition in the fight against flex.
  20. You are loosing fluid right?
  21. Pull the carpet back. It's likely coming out the back and down the firewall. Rebuild is easy and cheap.
  22. It won't start with the fuel fuse disconnected :thumbup1:
  23. He's saying the new ones are great the older one not so much. If he's talking about the original boxster I can believe it,my zed on stock boost was faster... Now go drive that boxster looney.
  24. Well done buddy. They must be paying you well if your prepared to swap Lymington for London lol.
  25. It's a helpful place.... Welcome.
