  1. Finally someone else agrees with me. If I was given one I'd sell it, my least favourite car of the era.
  2. Good old Gaz, forever helpful. Glad you've resolved some issues.
  3. I used to have one. It got broken, despite a promise of il buy you another, she hasn't...
  4. For me it's the Rex or the Z. The rest don't appeal, the supra so boring, the mitsi is very fussy and the Honda screams 80s all those square angles.
  5. What turbos you having fitted dan?
  6. Stephen replied to ianl's topic in Events - UK
I will likely come. It's double the distance, however it's only about 10 minutes extra time wise. Just shows how bad the southwests road network is.
  7. I think the point is there both in the Midlands. Whilst the north goes a lot further than Birmingham the south goes along way further than Bristol. At least castle Combe serviced the West Country, M5 etc. Regardless having them both so near each other is pointless. If anything japfest 2 should have been moved further north.
  8. So japfest 1 will be at silverstone then japfest 2 at rockingham. Both in the East Midlands. Nice one. Was looking forward to getting out at castle Combe. Bad choice imo.
  9. Lets be fair, if the roads clear what's actually wrong with the old 100mph dash...the old style, on with congestion is fine. Bit silly really but hey that's the world these days. Everyone knows speeding kills more people each year than Ebola.
  10. With the right that's potentially a fair comment. Set up is key. It's kind of why I said road car, you can of corse provide enough grip to put it on all the floor but it's going to cost a few quid in tyres, esp if your doing a few miles. I'd love to go out in a zed at that sort of power level, ie 500+
  11. Yup. At least garret are common as muck. Those PE tubs aren't even cheaper really are they. Not many companies making turbos suitable for the z.
  12. Anything more than 500 is pretty useless in a Z32 on the road. There just isn't enough grip to use it. If the wheels are spinning your not speeding up as fast as you could. We've all punched it in second and it's lit up the rears even on the old chip and boost, stock on crap tyres. Infact mine did this morning, haven't used it on a few weeks, stone cold tyres, bit of boost and sideways. Whoops.
  13. Completely agree. Mines never going to be a monster, it's already unpractical and very harsh. Pot holes, drain covers, large chunks of gravel, ouch. It's very competent through the corners though. Responsive and reliable is key.
  14. I agree with what your saying there Jeff, however the cost of rebuilding stock isn't a large gap between those hybrids. Even a pair of gt2560s are about 1200. Admittedly they aren't a straight fit but they are a massive improvement over stock, even just the whole more modern reliable turbo side of the argument. I rebuilt my stockers with genuine Garrett rebuild kits and paid for A professional rebalance. It certainly wasn't cheap...
  15. They have built some serious turbos for different cars. Including that bright green 1200hp GTR that was all over the place few years back.
  16. Sequential turbos, worth $30k and modified heavily due to the F&F. Mate it's not a supra you know this yeh?
  17. That's the car yeah. Seen full sun pics and it's almost grey blue lol, weird colour.
  18. Me any Ollie that work there went to school together.
  19. In fact if it's the car I'm thinking of it's actually silver lol. Just a funny pucture.
  20. Why are you going for Matt then?
  21. Go for satin mate, it stays looking fresh longer.
  22. If it sounds like a tiny machine gun it's probably the battery has insufficient power. If it's an older battery, with the sudden drop in temperature over the last few days my monies on a failed battery.
  23. Overheating and black smoke. That's an interesting one. I recon you could have more than one fault there. Black smoke is most likely to be overfeuling. You say it's over heating, what's the indication of this? Stock gauge? When did this start? Have you changed anything? I think you need to get it hooked up to consult and do some old school diagnostics to check the basics. It doesn't sound great. Check the temp senders as well. A faulty ecu temp sender can cause all sorts of issues.
  24. It would likely be cheaper and easier through Mike but as you say...
