  1. Powerzed in Bristol ran by Jimmer (As Tony says above). Full set of conversion auto to manual parts range from £1000-1500. Then you'll need labour on top of that.
  2. 3/4 of the tribe decorating our tree. One of my boys absolutely loves Christmas. House looks like the tinsel fairy has barfed everywhere. Bit it's been a tough year for the little ones so I don't mind a bit of ott Christmas cheer.
  3. Enjoy what's left of the day Gary.
  4. Good to know. But too late for me as the subframe is already off and in bits!
  5. Subframe off job. I'm going to change all mine whilst I've got the frame off. Not a fun job on Acle stands!
  6. I'm driving my Chief Engineer nuts as half the boats engine room is covered in suspension bits!
  7. New fog lenses make such a difference to the front of the car. Mine are border line, but holding out on changing them as I have enough going on with the car already that is costing the Christmas bonus!
  8. Spent a couple of hours yesterday evening and a couple of hours today removing underseal from suspension components. Absolutely horrible job.
  9. To see how bad they are, you can strip out the rear seats and panels and get a camera phone to look down into the inside of the sill itself (or a boroscope if you have access to one - £30 from Amazon). Or at the more extreme end of the scale - drill a small hole into where there is already rust and then stick a boroscope through the hole. Though looking at the images you linked too a screwdriver might easily go through that and remove the need for drilling.
  10. Subframe and differential bracket has had first primer coat (Jotamastic 87). This will go matt when dry. Hopefully I'll get time tomorrow for a second coat. Then will leave to cure for 3 weeks and then 2 coats of Interthane 990. That'll give a gloss finish. Original bushes are in good condition so they are remaining. Feel like I'm making progress now. Just all the suspension arms to strip, paint, rebush. Then the diff. And the half shafts. And the chassis..... Jesus. Not as much progress as I thought!
  11. Just a little update. Rear subframe prepped and treated today. Will get first coat of Jotun 87 tomorrow on it. Hopefully get chance to put a second coat on before heading off to work. Decided to stick with the OEM subframe bushes. Have done a thorough inspection of them and they are still in usable condition. Especially considering the limited mileage the car will get going forward. All my new bushes for everything else should arrive whilst I'm away at work. I'll strip and paint the arms whilst I'm at work so I can throw it all back together when I get back. Also started to remove the scale from the differential.
  12. And this one in particular. I've not read through it further than first few posts skim read. Looks like you fitted Mustang discs

  14. Bit of a boring update. Subframe is out and almost fully stripped down. Diff looks bad, but it's just years of underseal on top of surface corrosion creating an onion effect. It should clean up fine. Bushes are in surprisingly OK shape for the most part. But I'll be replacing them all anyway.
  15. Are there any OEM style bushes available for the suspension? I hate polybushes with a passion (although I am aware I will need to get them for the subframe as there is no other option). So aside from Nismo bushes and ES/Whiteline/SuperPro polybushes are there any other options? (I'm prepared to go for Nismo, but want to look and explore all the alternatives before committing.
  16. This sums up my day. Huge thanks to Bird for answering my dumb questions and being on hand with his experience.
  17. I really dislike mild steel
  18. Made a start on dropping the subframe this morning. So far I'm about 3 hours behind schedule! 2 snapped bolts and a feck ton of swearing and I finally got the JapSpeed exhaust off after 3 hours of trying not to snap any bolts. Hopefully have the subframe down by this time tomorrow.
  19. I think the shadows created by my house have affected the images. There's no tint on the lenses at all. Thanks for info on the centre panel. I'll hopefully get around to it soon.
  20. Hmmmm. Think it would look odd on a dark coloured car. I like that they currently look the same or at least similar lense to the fog lights. Helps it all blend in and match. If you step back and don't take an up lose pic you can't see any hint of colour in the new bulbs (just a very faint orange tint if up close)
  21. Got rid of the blue look chrome indicators from the front of the car. It's a small thing but a big improvement in my eyes. Spotted rear centre panel reflectors have came loose in the housing. Not particularly looking forward to fixing that. Then spent a bit of time soaking all the exhaust bolts and rear subframe bolts in plus gas and then working out the absolute best way to have the car jacked up and on stands securely to get the rear subframe off. Left the front wheels on and put the front on a pair of 600mm high 2t load ramps. Rear has 2 x 3t stands on the FSM points and a 3t trolly jack sat under the diff (not quite touching). Tomorrow it'll be time to stop putting this job off and just get underneath and try and get the exhaust off and then the subframe down. Really wishing I had a transmission jack! (I should point out the bricks in the pictures aren't supporting anything! Car at this point had axle stands under the front FSM points too!)
  22. Haven't actually put it on yet. Car is up on stands and I'm under it most days so not bothered with it yet.
  23. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/car-covers-tarpaulins/halfords-all-seasons-car-cover-l-268814.html I've just bought one of these after reading recommendations on here.
  24. Visited a local GTR specialist who also happen to work on Z32s. Got it up on the ramps for the first time in my ownership and had a pike around and got quote for getting the sill work done. The garage confirmed my thoughts that it's no where near as bad as it could be. Going to book in for early next year to get the metal work done, brake and fuel lines replaced, and a 120k service and new clutch and release bearing. My new toy from SGS arrived this morning. Now got 4 months to strip off all suspension, scrape, clean, treat, paint both those bits and the entire underside.
  25. This old tech post of Jeff's might help
