Firstly welcome to the club, secondly wow a Z on Uist. Your first problem could be down to someone previously by-passing the the heater core due to a leak, a blocked core or even an air lock in the system. Is the engine warming up all right because if that dont neither will your heater. Cruise control ..... :o its that long since ive driven my Z I cant remember how to set the cruise, if it aint switching on it could be something as simple as a fuse. What are wanting cruise control on Uist for anyway :D And your right the last one is the biggy. Its possibly serious. Is it a heavy knock or more a tapping from the top end, if its the latter its possibly a sticky lifter and is quite common, my car does it until its warmed up. But to be honest if youve been running with a misfire chances are that theres a lot of fuel in the oil and may have damaged the bearings and untold other components. Check the dipstick find out what the oil is like and see if it smells of petrol, if it does try an oil change you may be lucky but i doubt it.

Got to disagree with you there, over the years alcohol has reliably given me a damn sight more headaches than the Z. The Z is parked in the garage and can easily be put to the back of my mind, a hangover cant be treated that easily.

Aint going out in this weather so I'll get you one from the fridge instead :D Couple of glasses of red wine with the takeaway and now working my way throught the remains of last weeks case of kronenbourg, that will give the Millars time to chill, and may even squeeze in a bottle or two of Bulmers in between.

Spent all day at an assessment interview for promotion at work, hours of interviews and report writing (think i did crap), got away at the back of five only to get stuck in traffic jams caused due to roadworks, bad weather and accidents. Finally got home to find the missus has cancelled our planned night out due to the weather. I can see my stock in the fridge is gonna be obliteraited tonight!

I had a no blame accident in the Z a couple of years back, there was no question as to whos fault it was and their insurance paid up without question. the next time i went to re-insure the car i noticed the premium had gone up, I then got some quotes of the net, some listing the bump and some not it made a difference to every quote the lowest quote was 280 without the bump and 370 with. :confused: Fookers why should you get blamed for others crap driving. ( and it was a woman, who most insurance companies seem to think are a lower risk :rant: )

Make them up out of sheet steel, or pay an arm and leg for Nissan panels if you want to save time!
