  1. Ive used it when doing the inside panels of the sills and to take out the surface rust inside some of the rear panels. It seems to do exactly as it says, but im only using it on surface rust and light pitting. it won't take out heavy scaling or repair corrosion. As Si says make sure the corrosion aint coming through from the inside before doing any of the work or it will just come back through, Ive replace a lot of metal on my car for that reason. I did a lot of reading on the classic car forums and mags for best paints etc to use, and have decided on http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=9126 to paint the inside of panels where possible after using the metal ready and am using https://www.bilthamber.com/dynaxs50.html in all the cavities.
  2. What were the readings, the garage should have given you a print out of the test and not just handed you the failure (VT30 certificate) Its possible they have tested to the wrong limits.
  3. A plumber... after seeing the pic of your back garden I'd have sworn you were a landscape designer! :smw:
  4. Yep they make the rules, and we cant do a thing about it, the insurance companies shaft us at every oppertunity. If you are over 25 you could put the Z on a classic policy, no no-claims needed but they will limit your yearly mileage. Then you can use your no claims on the other car. quite a few of us have our insurance set up this way
  5. Tried to race a 3ltr granada away from the lights in my first car (Escort MK2 1.3) and ripped half the first gear teeth of the cog and first motion shaft. I managed to drive slowly about a mile with the car clunking and banging and locking up every now and again, until it locked up solid. I ended up having to reverse the fooker another half mile home. Half the lights in my street came on as I made my way along it at a snails pace at quarter to one in the morning, the noise was fookin horrendous.
  6. Nice job on the arms.... would normally say accidents do happen, but after reading some of your previous posts I all I can say is it was just a matter of time!. Good to see that there isnt too much damage and its easily fixable, and more importantly no one got hurt.
  7. Nice offer, I'm sure someone will have these of you.
  8. Fook I cant even get the single player to work, time to upgrade the PC then.
  9. Firstly welcome to the forum. The 300ZX is a great car which at the moment you can get for not a lot of money, but beware, if you buy the wrong one it will cost you dearly to put right so do your homework before you buy. Theres plenty info on the forum of what to look out for http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm is a good start. Other thing is don't jump at the first one you see and be prepared to do a lot of travelling to find one. Regarding members local to you, I dont know of anyone in Edinburgh itself, but there are one or two of us not too far away (Im in Falkirk), unfortunately i think most of the local cars are under repair at the moment (mine has been of the road for a year now), so you might struggle to get someone to take you out in one, but if your looking for advice just ask away, we will help out if we can.
  10. Happy New Year all.
  11. Normally we just meet up with the cars, but hopefully we can have a few runs next year. the reason for just going for a few beers at xmas was mainly because most of our cars are off the road for one reason or another just now :)
  12. Welcome to the club, and more importantly enjoy the Z.
  13. After discussions with Berrica and Shrek this aint happening tonight , just to warn anyone whos planning on popping along. I will schedule something early in the new year!
  14. Are you gonna make it, if not I think it will be better to put it back a bit until we get a bit more interest, could be that its a bad time of the year for most of the guys and if we hold it in a months time we may get a few more bodies to come along. hows the car coming along did you get the injectors sorted
  15. I had planned on being off, but it didnt work out that way, Sorry about that. Dont think there is any point in going for a meal by the time we all manage to meet so I will grab something quick to eat on the way home and jump on the train. Suggest we meet at the top of the stairs at the stations north exit, Princess Street 19:00hrs
  16. Merry Xmas to all It's time to arrange a meeting place for the night out, I'm working on the day :( so wont manage into Edinburgh until around 19:00. where is everyone travelling from so I can arrange a suitable place? thats if anyone is still going
  17. Where Chip Foose when you need him :)
  18. Buy one from an auto spark or motor factor, far cheaper than Halfords!

  22. sorry bud... I should have used quotes, I was answering Andy's question
  23. ermmmm NOPE :p
  24. :D you had the answer before you even asked. Think Edinburgh is the most central location for the three of us, easy to get to and from, unless anybody else has any other suggestions.
