Shit thats bad, no doubt the wheels will be up for sale soon, but why only take the can off the bike, could be the fookers have a bike to fit it to! may be worth keeping an eye on the GXR forums for guys local to you.

7:30 lets us have the meeting and leaves plenty of time for you young whipper snappers to head up to the retail park for the cruise!. The retail park dosent normally start to get busy until about 9:00, depends whhether you want to go to the wheel first.

NP hope you get it sorted soon. shrek, Dick300, davidlyall258, Pablo good lads I'll see you there. Attendance of the cruise optional :D , may give it a miss as well. Its hard to pose in the Pug, plus I might get recognised

The first meet of 2008 will be on Thursday 7 February, this ties in with some of the members wanting to attend the Falkirk cruise. I plan on meeting at the Falkirk football stadium (again)at 19:30. This is relatively easy to find for those travelling from further afield. we can have a natter and those of you who want to nip up to the cruise have plenty of time to do so. All interested please say Aye!....... leave a reply at least!

To be honest its not until you start to cut out the rot that you find out the full extent of the damage,probably 10 times worse than you originally think. Anything is repairable given the time and money but does it really make sense to put a lot of effort into repairing a car that you can replace for 2 grand.. I'm rebuilding mine because I bought mine to work on and I enjoy doing it (when I get the time) I see it as a Challenge, I recon lots of these cars have been assigned to the scrap heap with far less corrosion due to the fact they they would cost an arm and a leg to have repaired proffesionally and also by the fact that they are worth far more in bits. I'd say that youv'e made the right descision at the moment, in ten years time you will be kicking yourself :D

Only difference is I plan on putting mine back together.

Sorry to hear your still having problems, I take it the garage couldnt fix the problem then ?..... If you want to bring it down to compare the piping with mine, might be able to spot something they are missing.

Havent planned any this year as yet, Ive been a bit busy with work. I do hope to organise something next month but I dont think that many will turn up at this time of the year (too cold to hang about), So it will likely be small gatherings, ie Shrek wants to head along to the Falkirk cruise. Once it warms up a bit (and hopefully my cars back on the road) I will arrange some more meets, hopefully a run or two and will try to get some involvement in some of the car shows and events.

Even more members North of the border, hopefully get a few more people at meetings this year then!

agree with Pete that would be the best solution, a brush attachment on an angle grinder and finishing of with metal prep will also work, you can work the metal prep in with a brush and repeat the process until the rust is gone.
