one hit wonders
lots there I would never class as one hit wonders....some of them are pure class. And on a related note I just bought the Ege of the Eighties. triple CD lots of great tracks and a few one hit wonders flung in...... oh the memories.

Waking her up!!
Probably dodgy electrical connections caused by damp while its been sat around rather than anything else.

Insurance sticky
Just re insured the Z again today, Carol Nash with declaired mods was going to be £300 but came down to £275 when I said I was a forum member. thats on a classic policy with a 5000ml limit, and being an old git helps:D

Seat belts flapping about with roof off
just borrow some kids to fill the seat belts, there will be no seatbelt slapping noises but sure as fook 45 minutes later you will wish there were. After that you will never ever complain about a little noise from the back again

brakes broke
Sorry thought you meant that you had a hard pedal as if the servo wasnt working If the pedal feels the same but you dont have the stopping power, it could be that you have seized front caliper pistons.... seems to be a common complaint with Z's

Fitting a steering rack.
Not sure about the shear bolts on the Z but Ive changed a lot of ignition barrels by using a centre punch to remove the bolts. If theres enough of a head on the bolt a couple of smacks with a hammer and punch usually frees it enough to unscrew them by hand..

brakes broke
Could be something like a leaking pipe or faulty servo unit, is the car idling ok ? pop the bonnet and see if you can hear any leak.

L.E.D Side Lights.
Sorry bud but I just dont like them, everyone to their own though. Its like the Audi ones the first couple I saw I quite liked, now the more I see the more chav looking they appear to be getting.
- sunny day for the z.

Engine Removal Help
Sorry, the next couple of weeks are gonna be pretty hectic for me. Work and trying to get the Z on the road for the Glencoe run ( not to mention the three hour round trip) but after that if your still struggling gimmie a shout. I havent taken an engine out a Z but I have a fair bit of experience on other vehicles :D.

Cooper-SWB, Top club member
 Gotta heap some praise on Darrell for sending me a set of piston for my front brake calipers. He sent them without me making any payment so that I could see if they were what I needed. Now thats what I call trust ......and club spirit.

leaking petrol tank
Forget the name, ive got some in the garage I'll check tomorrow and let you know. Its best if you have emptied the tank ( which if its leaking that bad will be :( ) you will need to remove the rear most bolt and drop the strap out the way then clean the rust away from the leaking section of tank. you just follow the instructions for mixing the repair paste, it goes on much the same way as body filler.

leaking petrol tank
There is repair paste available to carry out a repair (available at most good motor factors.....and halfrauds), how good it will be will depend on the state of the tank, I have used it in the past for pinholes in a tank and it lasted for years.

May meeting / road trip
Saturday 24 May (Glencoe & Ballachuish) Aint forgotten about this guys Thoughts at the moment are for all the Falkirk/Stirling/Edinburgh guys to meet at Stirling services Around 10:00, set of around 10:30 and head for Tyndrum where we can meet with anyone coming from Glasgow Perth etc. After that its a run up to Glencoe for some piccies (weather permitting) grab some nosh then head for Ballachulish, down the west coast towards Oban before turning back to Tyndrum and home. At the moment I think a bar meal in the Glencoe area would be best, would be around lunch time so I could still manage a curry when I get home . but if you guys preffer we could leave it till the last leg of the run ...........or then again we could just all bring rolls on cheese and flasks of soup and act just like an MG club outing (youd all need to bring tartan rugs as well though). Ive had a few bar meals in the area in the past but it was a few years ago and half the places seem to be turning into Bistros Some of the places for meals so far http://www.lochlevenhotel.co.uk/restaurant_bar/index.html http://www.cmc-management.co.uk/Laroch.html http://www.clachaig.com/ http://freespace.virgin.net/kings.house/ I will try and get some menu's emailed......before we decide If you want to wait till later to eat, this one wasnt to bad, pretty basic pub grub but the prices were good http://www.loch-awe.com/glenorchy/g3.htm

Front brake calipers
I'm overhauling the front calipers but need to replace some of the pistons and want to make sure I source the right ones. Can anyone tell me whether the pistons are the same for the alloy and cast iron calipers. My car is a 91 but somebody has fitted the later cast calpiers.
