  1. Engine is near enough stripped ready to be pulled. Just the oil line, pas lines and water at the back.
  2. And gearbox now off too.
  3. Exhaust and prop now off. Just unbolting the gearbox.
  4. Zed back on axle stands. Draining the fluids again, then will proceed with full removal of the engine
  5. Intercoolers were purchased from a member but were brand new as they were wrapped and ends were sealed. Plenum however came from the previous build that we know blew up back in 2015. Now i clearly remember hosing that thing down in and out before fitting to this build but its possable thats where the material came from. I'll have the engine stripped again tomorrow and hopefully i got lucky as the engine as is never started; it was only cranked over.
  6. Just a cheap scope we had, i would need to do a proper strip of the heads to see for sure.
  7. Nothing has been powder coated. The filings that were found were on the passenger side only. Not sure how they got there, but plan to take the plenum off tomorrow and give it a good look at. The tops of the cylinders looked ok and intact when using the borascope.
  8. Not to plan as such. Thought we had an issue with the starter or flywheel at first. We then proceeded to check everything over and removed the coil packs and plugs to inspect the heads. Chamber 5 was spotless so it was either no spark or no fuel; but seeing as it wouldn't start and locked up quickly we think we have a stuck injector as the first fault. Next which was the biggest unknown issue is we found metal filings in the plenum which I've been told could be turbo failure. At this point it's engine out to get the turbos off and inspect and clean everything again. We cranked her a few times before discovering the material so I doubt damage to the engine, but we won't know until its stripped again. Good news is we used a bora scope on the heads and they look fine.
  9. Zed has arrived safely at DynaTune.
  10. First start and mapping tomorrow so zed is out the garage and will spend a night on the trailer until the morning now.
  11. Yeh, in this day and age there not upto much. I have a Qashqai i use for my business which runs ok but the engine is a renault which have a tendancy to breakdown.
  12. I use SGS for everything, very good quality. The jack is very low profile, but my zed is so low i still need to scissor jack it an inch before it fits under and past the skirts because they make the stance more square.
  13. I know the one that was in the first auction actually came from the local nissan garage. Its less than 5 miles away from where i stay.
  14. Japspeed, before my time and I've been here for over 10 years now.
  15. We were fine previously. Just needs a bit of training to get back in the swing of things.
  16. OK, But then it looks like there is fresh content that people can see by looking at the thread titles. For the new members all they see is one big thread title. It may be all in there but much like Facebook you can't follow a particular part your interested in. One of the things I hate about Facebook is its linear format. I feel we are changing to that style of format which is bad for this club.
  17. No doubts if anyone posts separate threads people will comment. But I've always believed the big one thread is a new thread killer.
  18. We never had a first. It was just an unofficial count, lol
  19. It was closed not that long ago but reopened. If the majority like it then it stays, but personally I think it can distract members from opening new threads.
  20. Absolutely amazing Simon. I would love to do a trip like this one day. Keep the pictures and trip progress coming.
  21. I enabled the donation system purely as a few members asked for it. The position of the club currently does not require donations but a few members expressed that they wanted to donate to the club after others helped them out. The system was turned back on two weeks ago just as a means to process payments at the members chosen amount.
  22. I'm stuck with the cheap carpet in mine, but on the lookout for a older version to replace it.
