Calling it a day now, next job is to get all the springs out the new heads and replace them with the JWT versions. After that its just a case of building it back up.

Day one and we starting on the donor engine. God i've missed doing this blog. Cams out and now need to get the lifters out to access the springs, and cant find my bloody magnet.

What about the actual indicator stock ? Stick the hazards on and wiggle the stock, also check the plug to it.

When you cant find the bolt you need, spread out a bit, you'll get there eventually.

need to fit the oil tree prior to the turbos and just discovered i don't have a gasket.

Starting to build up the engine again, and can i find all the proper bolts - nope.

Turbos have arrived in the UK, delivery tomorrow.

Took a while but managed to get them fitted as they were tight to do up each bolt nearly at the same time to get them fitted.

Engine build has started again ! New manifold pipes arrived yesterday and spent a good hour pulling the old studs off for a slightly shorter version. These are AMS V2's, but they look near identical to the ones i have on a spare engine.

And 2nd parcel is now with Fedex, dont know why they couldnt ship both at the same time. Another huge fee for import, this time over £450

Well, Fedex parcel arrived, and we have 1 box with AMS manifolds and no Turbos. Never knew of a company to be so incompetent in there shipping process.

Another customs charge from Fedex this time, although a 5th of what i paid to UPS. At least the new kit will arrive in the next few days as its already at Standsted.

Just noted it's coming from FedEx this time rather than UPS. So I might call my credit card too and see where I stand.

Yeh, That are on route and so far not flagged for import fees. But I'm still claiming back off Ups for the first time it dispatched. Fingers crossed.

Update on this, Z1 have finally got back to me with updated tracking and its due to arrive next Thursday. Separately i have complained to UPS and they have started an investigation to get the import fees back.

Apparently they are going to dispatch it again on Monday; however they couldnt advise on whats to happen about the import taxes already paid.

No idea, UPS dont make it easy to contact them either, the website has is a very bad AI support tool. Its been 10 days nearly since last contact from Z1

Looks like Z1 have screwed me over on a set of Turbos. Ordered them 2 months ago and and i've been chasing them each week and they respond simply as we do not have an ETA. Finally got them to tell me that parts on on back order and no longer available so after a small refund the rest was dispatched via UPS last week. 1 Week on and UPS demanded the import fees upfront which i paid only to discover that Z1 never completed the Export license information to UPS. Now my new turbos have been returned to Z1 which i have tracking for and Z1 are ignoring all communications with me and i'm down the import fee too as if its shipped out again guarantee it will be a new tracking number and they will demand a new payment. I'm really at my tether with this zed and nearly had enough, everything i do to get it on the road goes wrong.

So apart from all things zed, My other hobby which I've invested a lot of time back into recently is Pool. After i replaced my old table with this, along with a full video recording studio which is getting fairly professional now. We records all our games and publish highlights on FB with our full games now available on Youtube. Many of you may recognise this as my old garage where i kept the zed but its since been converted to a proper Pool Hall.
