  1. After that we got the gasket lined up and put the plenum back on.
  2. Water pipes at the back were also replaced which made the connections with the jubilee clips very tight to get on.
  3. Getting very close to putting this engine in the zed now and its getting very exciting again. Had to order up a few new hoses which arrived yesterday as well as a set of spark plugs which was installed today. And had an issue last time with the water pipe kinking which i didnt trust so i ordered a 90 degree elbow which when fitted doesnt crush.
  4. Those top two don't look right 🤣
  5. Also start to attach all the auxiliary hoses like the water pipes and vac pipes. However thinking this would be simple would be wrong; things have been scattered over the years and a few of the pipes are missing. So thought i'll crack on to the plenum so i fitted the fuel rail down nice and snug. Next issue we have - Spark plugs - no-where to be found !! So looks like i'm building another list of parts thats needed.
  6. Back to work on the zed this morning and all was going well until i discovered that the stock intake turbo pipes wont fit with the oem heat sheilds. appears the clearance isnt there so i had to take them back off .
  7. So with the oil pipe sorted the other turbo is now fitted too. Also fitted my new downpipes, Not a bad days work on the engine.
  8. So i decided to skip trying to find an adaptor for the oil line and just relocated the oil sender to the other side instead. Much cleaner this way and all new pipes fitted now.
  9. Next issue is for the left bank, as the instructions and pipe work are designed for the USA market and such do not take into account the stock oil pressure sensor. I know need to work out how to adapt the pipe from the two different threads. below is part of the stock oil line that feeds the turbos, on the right is the new hose i need to adapt to. I had an idea to use this connection but the oil feed bolts thread is too long so it will never tighten.
  10. 3 hours to install the first turbo ☹️ After figuring out how to install the water and oil feed pipes i discovered (only after spending 30 minutes doing the bolts) that the actuator falls foul of the oil tree and the oil feed connector block. Back off they came and grinded some of the oil tree in hopes it clears it when its on. Very close But i think that will do.
  11. Nearly impossible to torque down the bolts for these AMS manifolds. You can only get into two of the bolts with a wrench, the others are on as tight as i can get without rounding the nuts.
  12. Had to wait a day or so for the new silicon gasket to show up. But now its arrived I've got the cam covers back on and sealed up.
  13. Starting to look like a long lost engine i own.
  14. Timing belt now done properly and tensioner set to 4mm.
  15. Engine Assembly time. Managed to get the heads back on, all the lifters and cams torqued down again, then fitted the cam gears and went to do the belt. Not as easy as i remember it a few years ago so had dificulty getting the marks to line up with the crank pulley at the bottom. I'm guessing the sprocket is slightly out so i'll try again tomorrow, but need to find some clamps to keep the top done.
  16. New thread for ideas and designs :
  17. Hi, This is something we havent looked at for a while but wondering how many people would like us to bring the store back. I would likely have to run this myself and will try to do it as cheaply as possible. Items that would be in it can be hoodies, caps, shirts, lanyards, pens, mugs and so on.
  18. Had enough of these aftermarket lifters. Now that I can't confirm the make I'll stick with the original oem ones.
  19. I had a receipt for both in the paperwork, but now I'm not so sure on the lifters. They are definitely aftermarket compared to what I have already.
  20. Yeh, Done that with standard oem lifters before. These are jwt and don't seem to come apart that easy.
  21. Still have an issue with my lifters. 2 days soaked in Diesel has fixed only a few of them and the rest seem to have the valve stuck open.
