  1. So just watched this posted on FB by Nick. I actually enjoyed it but as a seasoned zed owner i was cringing and shouting instructions at my screen First thing i thought about the engine noise was the lifters, as being sat for so long they likely have seized up with lack of oil. Buy hey, lets strip the whole front, no harm as they age of the car, i would have done all belts, oil and water pumps while i'm at it. Second cringe was the usage of a electric screwdriver on the tensioner, and just as i was shouting dont do that, snap - told you, lol. The mistakes they made actually made is a great video.
  2. Taken from a series 4 breaker, This engine was fully operational and running smooth when removed from the breaker, unfortunately I've no idea what the compression is. Likely has just over 100,000 miles on the clock according to the timing belt cover. Looking for 850 collected from Irvine, or add extra for on a pallet.
  3. Yeh, purchased a few parts from them in the past and not had any issues.
  4. Hi all, Not had an update for a while so where shall i start ? My engine is back and so far its stuck on a stand minus its turbos as the last ones had some issues. So my view is to get a set of GT525+ curtesy of Z1 https://www.z1motorsports.com/turbocharger-kits/z1-motorsports/z1-300zx-gt525-turbo-kit-p-43797.html Along with a set of AMS manifolds https://www.z1motorsports.com/headers-manifolds/ams/ams-max-flow-300zx-tt-exhaust-manifolds-v2-p-16305.html Not made the order yet as i just like peoples thoughts and does anyone have the newer design version of the 525's ?
  5. Which Stephen ? I'm sure there is a few, happy birthday all the same 😃
  6. Happy birthday Lee
  7. And your likely the wrong side of the Atlantic ocean. Everyone's welcome on this club but our member base is 90% UK based at the moment.
  8. yip she was. Originally bought this back in 2009 i think from Bigman for just over £5k I remember as i sold my VW Bora v6 for 5k in Crew then walked a mile to collect the zed.
  9. Hi, Welcome to the club, Where are you located ? Do you have engine building experience; as thats not something the average owner would do themselves unless you have a builder in mind and just need the part. Likely pick a crank up from ebay but unless you know the seller how do you know its a good healthy crank. Maybe best finding another engine to use as spares. Finding a good one also would be down to your location.
  10. My original 1991 NA has came home. Bit worse for wear so unfortunately it's a breaker now.
  11. Happy Birthday Ian
  12. Learn something knew every day on here 😃
  13. We had a small outage this morning as our parent server had a fairly bad DOS attack. Managed get most of it blocked but the site unfortunately did have dome downtime.
  14. Also, forgot to ask if you can hear the starter kick in trying to turn the engine over ?
  15. Is it a Manual or Automatic ?
  16. Is this an Auto or manual ? My own car was a auto to manual conversion and on the autos there is a start relay under the drivers wing that broke which needs bypassed. Might not be that but good to check it.
  17. I have a spare forged engine build that paperwork says has Jim Wolf Cams and Springs. Does anyone know if these markings confirms this or not. the only thing i can see is the yellow paint which seems to match. As i'm building up my primary engine again i'm thinking about transplanting these to the main build too.
  18. Are you looking for a project or a fully working zed ?
  19. Its not insulation as such, its a fire blanket ! If a fire starts in the engine bay the plastic grommets melt and the shield drops down and give the occupants a little longer to get out.
  20. Whos supplying the shell ? Only interested as i have one too which will be ready by next month.
  21. Repair or rebuild your wiring loom with the kit, £60 ono posted.
  22. No, I had another breaker which was all parted out, few things on it left but the rest was just scrapped as I needed the room at my unit. Not sure what to do with this other one yet.
  23. shame, i just scrapped a zed and left the belts in it.☹️
