  1. I've never understood comparing a modified cars against stock cars. What's the point in arguing if a "well sorted" zed can keep pace with a GTR. Spend enough money on something and anythings possible. There's a 200mph Toyota Corolla out there - does that mean we should all be driving Corolla's - i think not.
  2. He was either humouring you or he can't drive properly
  3. Given the choice between a GTR or a 300zx I know what i'd choose and it wouldn't be a 20yr old car. Having driven both cars there have to be a significant investment for a zed to even come close to the performance of a GTR on the track. Not only is the GTR blessed with excellent performance, it excels at cornering and carrying speed that put its modern rivals to shame. A recent EVO magazine review put it ahead of the latest recently released Porsche 911 S. Wrong. All the RRR's off does not equate to the quickest 0-60 time. Nissan quote 3.8 secs for the pre 2011 cars. It's widely recommended puting the suspension in comfort for launching as the softens the rear suspension allowing better traction off the line.
  4. Here's mine. Nice, clean and uncluttered.
  5. Not good. I wonder whats caused that - expansion? As you know mine has been outside for a while and (touch wood) no problems.
  6. I would say about £4K would be about right. The 99spec part is worth a premium, but not much. In this guise it doesn't offer much (in terms of equipment) over an older model. The turbo models did have extras such as HID's, skirts that may bump the desirability and price up. Looking at the basics its an 80,000 mile car, 3litre, NA, Auto and in these difficult times and with ever increasing petrol prices the cars arent worth that much.
  7. Make sure Nissan are quoting on the 99spec part. They are easily confused especially when the 99spec bumper was never sold here and the UK cars did have these smoked as standard.
  8. Looks great Richard. Just need to replace the window trim on the drivers door to finish it off.

  10. 1) The layout maybe hasn't changed but it seems more difficult to navigate (to the eye) perhaps because the seperation between posts is less defined 2) Rides has gone 3) Looks more modern but overly bright and wishy washy 4) Rides has gone 5) Sometime the headings at the top (New Posts, Private Messages) along the top banner disappear when navigating to page 2 6) Rides has gone 7) When viewing on my iphone earlier the person who posted the message was larger than the subject in the results page making navigation tricky 8) Rides has gone 9) What benefits does the upgrade bring Unless i've missed it (although i'm on here a lot) there was no mention that this upgrade was planned. Perhaps a notice that the upgrade was planned in a weeks time with the following benefits and detriments would have been nice. This would have given me the opportunity to preserve the info in my rides. At the moment it's a case of if it ain't broken leave well alone. As a side note this does not take away from the people who put their time into maintaining the forum and indeed carrying out the upgrade. Your continued work is much appreciated.
  11. Have to say i'm not a fan at the moment. Can't really see what benefits it brings.
  12. All leather series 2 cars were. Was yours cloth trim?
  13. Only Series 2 UK cars were fitted with heated seats
  14. No the GTR uses a completely different 3.8 engine
  15. No the GTR uses a completely different 3.8 engine
  16. As soon as you increase the rim size, and therefore reduce the tyre sidewall height it is going to impact the ride and comfort of the car for the worse.
  17. Makes the GTR look cheap A set of OE Dunlop tyres from dealer is £2200 Discs and pads £2K+ Soembody lost one of their keys - to replace - a bargain £800

Agreed. If the finished colour is black or similar to original it won't be nearly as obvious. It looks fantastic.
  19. I doubt many people would be willing to splash out £100 for a 1 in 50 chance of winning to be honest.
  20. I can understand the purchase of GAP for a new car where there is an initial hit in depreciation (although I have never bothered myself). It is harder to justify for a used car where the standard car insurance should cover a like for like replacement anyway. So personally I wouldn't bother and save the £300 for running costs.
  21. Was it purple or black?? Probably was the one owned by "Bob" in Southport. It appeared in max power and on their video. I almost bought that very car, had a drive of it etc. It looked awesome with the wide kit on it - i'd never seen anything like it. My interest came from my parents owning Nissans and therefore seeing them in the dealerships in 1990. I remember thinking they looked amazing and so hi-tech.
  22. That's great news. Have a great christmas. No presents for me, the wife and I don't bother with each other and concentrate on the kids instead.
  23. A possibility below: http://www.formby.gb.com/southport/news_photo/Mystery_Key_Fob_SOLVED_for_New_Cut_Lane_resident-50777392.htm Look for anything, transmitters, etc that might interfere
  24. As i've two black UK 300's - one is called "The Sultan car" (for obvious reasons) and the other is "The Modified 300". Nice and simple  ;)
