You would have to: Pull the old one off - can be difficult and leave the tailgate in a bit of a mess. Buy a perspex panel to cover the rear holes - Zcentre have these. Have the existing top holes welded up Respray the tailgate Fit the new 99spec spoiler

All UK cars had the seat belts on the pillars.

My car is currently in many bits awaiting a respray with no battery installed. Is there any way of manually lowering the drivers and passenger windows using e.g. an allen key? or will i have to rig up power.

I'm having my car repsrayed in a couple of weeks and have been striping it ready. I've found some rust in the drivers rear wheelarch shown in the pic below. Does anyone know the best way of fixing this? Is it simply a case of shaping some metal and welding it in or would I need to buy a panel to cut up? There was a nut there that the bumper attached to.

Thanks for yor reply. I have spoken to the bodyshop who have recommended if possible to remove the rear window for the best quality job. If the rear window is removed do all the rear seals and trim automatically need replacing or can they be reused? Do any non-nissan seals fit as well as OEM?

Did you remove the window or manage to change the seals with the window in place? Did you replace with Nissan seals or a generic one?

Do RAC offer a removal/fitting service seperate from supplying glass? Any ideas how much they charge?

I'm having my car resprayed within the next month - colour change. My preference is to have the front and rear glass removed for a quality job. What have other people done? My windscreen is chipped - so i'll get it replaced under insurance. But, if I have the rear window removed are the (expensive) seals re-usable or will they need replacing?

Are any of the traders suppliers of these shocks and springs?

The threads and tips were wet with a black fluid on all but one plug. It's hard to tell if its oil or just fuel on a dirty plug. I reckon its oil - the plugs are very black.

Whilst I remember I changed the spark plugs today in the hope if may help the problems. I noticed that one of the spark plugs was a completely different type and all but one were wet. Don't know if this helps with a diagnosis.

My 91 UK is running like a bag of s**t. Very hesitent, smoking from idle (cold), smoking under acceleration. Anyway I'm taking it to a garage tommorow for a general look over and was hoping to shed some light from the Datascan log i've just run. Unfortunately it is meaningless to me. Would anyone be so kind to cast their eye over it to see if anything is obviously wrong. The file is 1.6MB, i could email it. Or I have a smaller file whilst the car was idling if 1.6MB is too big. Surely they'll just bill the registered keeper - and it's for him/her to say who was driving at the time. They don't have to have a picture of the driver - if so rear facing gatso cameras could never work.

Sounds similar to mine - soon to be going into hospital! Presumbably I could take a feed from the cig socket (if its perm live). It must be sufficiently fused?

Hi, I have a 91 UK car with standard cloth/tweed manual seats that i am replacing with retrimmed jap seats - the drivers has electric adjustment. I have taken my old seats out and was hoping to find an unused connector underneath for the new elec seats - does this exist. I can't believe Nissan put two different wiring looms in depending if elec seats was specified or not. or will I have to wire it up myself? Thanks Phil

Hi, Just joined the site yesterday and have spent far to much work time clicking through the wealth of info. I am looking to purchase a UK Z shortly and just wanted to know how you identify a series 1/2 etc and what the differencies are between them. Also is there a way of telling the year of manufacture of the car from chassis number etc. I noticed this info on another site but it only apparently applied to Jap cars. Great site - hopefully have my own Zed soon to get properly involved. Phil
