MOT Fail
Might have to do this as a quick and dirty way through the MOT as I only had 10 working days to get it retested. I have been on to the guys at Blazt who supplied the cable used with Datascan. They have been very helpful and have agreed to send me a new replacement cable very cheaply.

MOT Fail
My other Zed is a manual. Does a manual ecu work in an Auto? I'd prefer not to have to cannibalise my other one. Might make more problems for myself. Could do this - but it's only a short term fix, not identifying the real problem. I wouldn't know if it had brought it down sufficiently before the re-test. 6.84% is pretty high.

MOT Fail
My 94 UK Auto went for it's MOT yesterday and failed on emissions. At fast idle it was putting out 6.84% Now normally i'd stick it on Datascan (which i have) to diagnose, but, datascan refuses to work with this particuar car - it works fine with my other zed. So how can I diagnose what's causing the problem without computer diagnostics. I've done the basic ECU code check and get an all clear 55

triple matrix heart bypass lol!! (pics)
Don't fill it that way. Fill it directly into the radiator

should i?
i'd be surprised if it works with the full version of Conzult as it states. The full version uses a different type of cable than the freeware version.

Home CCTV
£80 - £100 ones. I bought this one http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/dvr_avermedia_1304net.htm and fitted my own 500GB HDD. It also connects to a network so you can remotely view the cameras from any computer or over the Internet.

Home CCTV
Just a quick point to make when I was in the market for CCTV. Some of the cheaper DVR's (recorders) display the live image at a good resolution but record it at a lower resolution making the playback image poor. Worth checking Mine displays and records at 720 x 576

Bigger Brakes and ABS
If you want to retain the ABS am I right to presume the best braking system would be to install larger discs and relocation brackets ?? This would then have no detrimetal effect on the ABS balance ?? There seems loads of info on brake setups that don't work too well but not much on what does.

Windscreen wiper problem
From reading other forums I think it may be related to the wiper amplifier. Apparently it can get water logged. I'll check it tomorrow. Still interested if anyone else has had the prob though.

Windscreen wiper problem
A problem has started with my windscreen wipers over the past couple of weeks. They won't turn off no matter what postion the switch is in. I have read this can be caused by the switch within the motor mechanism that detects the rest postion becoming dislodged. However i'm not sure this applies to mine as the intermittent swith postion no longer works intermittently. It is parked outside and i'm wondering if damp may be causing it? This is what happens in the various switch postions: Switch postion - Wipers Off - Low Speed Intermittent - Low Speed Low Speed - Low Speed High Speed - High Speed Anybody had this problem? I can only stop them by pulling the fuse

Rear Lights
Uncool

rear fog lights
The reason i suggest tapping into the relay is that the switch circuitry isn't designed to handle the current hence the relay
-
rear fog lights
If you want your front fog light swtich to turn on both front and rear fog lights (don't know what mot will think) then you would need to take the feed from the front fogs relay under the bonnet.

Power for aftermarket gauges
There's definately no wire at the stereo that becomes live when ignition switched "ON". There's a perm live and a switched live when ign at "ACC"
-
Power for aftermarket gauges
Like I say if you wanted to sit in the car engine off listening to the stereo the guages would be on and beeping as there would be no oil pressure.
-
Power for aftermarket gauges
I've sorted it now. There's a green wire (M11/2D - if interested) that feeds the stock gauges with power and is live at ON postion. Perfect for aftermarket gauges.

Power for aftermarket gauges
Stereo loom just has perm live and switched (ACC) live
