  1. Just a continuation of the "Who is the Stig game". There are 30 FXX Ferrari's - orginally they were making 29 until Schumacher wanted one and they decided to make one more. It might of been his on Top Gear! Never mind all that I drive a Fiat 500 and Fiat Croma - yeah and the rest ;)
  2. What's the going rate to get a plenum done?
  3. You can tow it on a trailer. If doing it via tow rope it has to be road legal - so mot etc required
  4. I'll take their advice on the day - they know a lot more about it than me :)
  5. Took my car their today for wheel allignment. He reckons it will take an 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to get it spot on - so its booked back in for monday afternoon. Seemed to know what he was talking about and was very complimentary about the car and the suspension parts installed.
  6. No we don't Not expensive enough, exotic enough, quick enough, and without the prestigious badge. A very good GT of its time and market.
  7. See http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=126616 for some pics.
  8. Agreed Yours is a weekend car, not a daily run about. No style purpose only practical. For your car don't bother.
  9. Will do as soon as I can throw a bucket of water over it - it's a little fly splatted after the drive home. Got to have it looking its best :)
  10. Thanks guys - i'm chuffed with it. Oh Yes - as soon as it got home :D
  11. Following on the this thread. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=125813 Time for me to raise my hand and say it was me - i bought it. Wanted to wait until I had the car and everything was sorted before letting everyone know. So rest assured it's within the club. Picked it up on Friday after getting 3 trains & tube taking 5 1/2 hours. Then drove it the 250 miles home for which I almost felt guilty for putting the mileage on it. Thanks to Richard for his assesment of the car. I live too far away to have looked at it personally so Richard's post was very useful. The car is pretty much as Richard described - very orginal and befitting the 11,600 miles. There is some damage from the intense heat of Brunei e.g. some of the fabric is peeling on the door cards, fading on the front bumper - but nothing that's not easily sorted. All the important things are in great condition - bodywork (definately no rust) & very clean underneath, engine is very smooth, brakes very responsive. Just a couple of jobs and it'll be immaculate. Rest assured I bought this car for its orginallity and it will not be modified at all. A no rust, unmodified, uk, low mileage car is so rare these days - that's how its staying. It was part of the Sultan of Brunei's collection. Click the following link (posted in 2006) to see the type and number of cars the Sultan owns. This Nissan appears in the list. http://www.germancarzone.com/pit-general-discussion/5703-list-sultan-bruneis-complete-car-collection.html It came back to the UK with an Aston Martin Virage of similar age with 290 miles on the clock. Neither this car or the Aston have been used since being back in the UK. I've now got 3 x 300zx's so one will have to go - but that'll be another thread ;)
  12. Who's got a lower mileage one??
  13. Did the seller suggest what the reserve might be?
  14. Just make sure its fused.
  15. Dan, Does this mean that you would not recommend larger discs with standard calipers? I thought you used to sell this upgrade (discs and relocation brackets)??
  16. 94 officially. There may be the odd car registered later that had been sitting around a dealers - but i've never seen newer than an "M" plate UK car
  17. I've got this job to do on my UK car. Looking forward to it even less now. Keep us updated.
  18. Ordered some parts yesterday afternoon and they were delivered today. Great service from Dan (as always). Many Thanks
  19. Well it passed the MOT but not because of removing the pipe. Because they tested it properly this time as a non-cat car it only has to acheive under 3.5% at idle which it did :D At a fast idle it was still hitting 6% So its passed, but not running as should. I'm going to run more diags on it over the weekend, but will prob have to replace the o2 sensors as a minimum.
  20. It's running stock. It's gone in for its re-test today and i've removed a pipe of the balance bar so hopefully that will (temporarily) do the trick.
  21. I think if mine had been tested correctly it still would of failed with emissions of 6.84%. The non cat test limit is 3.5% ish i think Would failed o2 sensors cause the emissions to go this high?
  22. Checked the car today using Datascan. One o2 sensor reports a value of 6 the other a value of 1. This doesn't change when the engine is revved above 2K. It also doesn't change if they are unplugged. Is it normal for them both to fail? Is there anything else to check before buying two new ones?
  23. For future info there's a shop in Southport (near southport college) called Spectrum that deals in all car body supplies. Good for all sorts of stuff and getting paint mixed.
  24. Not particularly. £20 - £30
