Make some of you smile
easy putting it back in to be honest, and i too know all too well about the gear box oil lol, hardest part is realising you forgot to mark some of the pipe work and have to figure out what goes where lol

11 seconds of smooth idle...
This might sound odd, and im not sure if its the same as on a 300zx as it is for the pug 406, but when you idle a pug with A/C every now and then it cuts the A/C compressor in, this drops the revs slightly and then the ECU compensates and corrects the idle. Do you hear a click just prior to the revs dropping? could be a stiff A/C compressor clutch problem. although this is just a ball park guess, but might be worth a look with the bonnet open, to see if you can spot what is happening when the revs drop.

pilot bushing removal
What would be the danger involved if i just put the manual gear box bushing in, with the autogear box bushing still in, would i even be able to mount the clutch / gear box with both present? As from what i understand, the bushing is just there as a guide. or would that just totally screw things up, i need to get this gear box mounted.

pilot bushing removal
aaarrggghhh!!!!!, god this thing is p'ssing me off, tried a slide hammer today, still wouldn't budge, tried the hammer and chisel, might have to try again with that once I've sharpened the chisel. Even tried tissue that had been used to soak up gear box oil spill, with a bolt and washer, all that did was cover me in slime and tissue lol This thing is stuck in solid, hasn't even moved a micrometre

pilot bushing removal
Ok I've tried the grease in the hole and a hammer with a tight fitting metal bar, no go. Tried the hacksaw blade technique, and it wont even bite into it. how the hell do you get this damn thing to shift, btw its the auto bushing im on about here, not that tiny little coppery thing for the manual. JEFFFFFTTTTT HEEEELLLPPP MEEEE lol Does anyone do a tool for the removal and if so where can one purchase it as google has come up blank? this is the only thing stopping me from completing the engine swap as im not sure i can even put the gear box back on with the auto one in place, and even if i did put the gear box back on, im not even sure what role this bushing plays in the running of the gear box.... Anyone got any hints and tips, please bare in mind, my tools got stolen so im now limited to what i can use.

Or it didn't like you clogging up its orifice with a windows device, thought better off it, and decided it just wasnt worth the hassle of having such a device plugged into its privates anymore.

Nissan dealer service
yeah tell me about it, went over nissan in Kettering yesterday to get my Pilot bushing (service manual name) and came away with a spigot bearing (dealer name? but still the same part) noticed they had a brand spanking new 370Z just arrived (was that new it still had the protective sheets of plastic draped all over the exterior and interior of it, the sales man looked at me and said "yes its a prestigious sports car that is" i replied "i know, i own one of your older prestigious cars" he said "really? what one?" I told him it was a 300zx and he looked at me as if he hadn't the foggiest idea what i was on about. Lol i have to say though the 370z has to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated, i didn't like it from the pictures i have seen, but up close and personal its a definite stunner. PS, it was the GT ultimate as well, with the Nismo wheels, typical i forgot my camera

push button start
where do you get them from? (yes im being lazy lol) i might do that, wire it into the top of the gear stick, as I've got one of them crappy after market, blue LED lit ones (the ones with the ring of LED's around the edge and the push button on top)

zx headgasket common
I think you might find its called forum syndrome. if you look at a lot of posts, seems that the Zed is quite unreliable, but if you look at the situation properly. You are on a forum, and looking in the various sections, so a lot of people will be posting their problems. this inturn makes it seem like things are a bit unreliable. But in reality only a few of us have these problems. (although it could also be put down to the age of our vehicles as already mentioned lol)
