kk, well im going to have a spare plenum / rocker head / well engine once my engine change is done lol so thinking of sprucing things up on the old one, and putting them on the new one once done, post some pictures of before and after, would be interesting to see the progress.

Just a question but what are you using to polish it?

YAY, some good news, was on fleabay earla and managed to secure me an engine, 50k miles on the car it came out of, will be picking it up in Wednesday next week. Right anyone got a engine hoist i can borrow? and a spare few hands, as although i want to do it my self, this will be the first time Ive changed an engine, i know i said to Jeff that i wanted to take it to Zed world to do, but to be honest i want my car on the road and i think it will be a good learning experience, as long as i have some one there who's competent in doing it with me and can watch out so i don't f anything up. tea meal and biscuits are available. Also, what fluids am i going to need, obviously the main ones are fresh engine oil + filter, coolant, ill be changing the cam belt as well before the new engine goes in. What would be the idea height to get the car up to, to do the job, i got a 2 ton hydraulic jack with Axel stands and wheel chocks, so that should give us a bit of height. but not sure how much im going to need as the gear box needs to come out with it apparently. I want to make sure im properly prapared before attempting this. other wise ill just have to wait until the end of November before i can pay for Jeff's talents to tackle it.

Hmm 1 an a half year old seems to of played hide the memory card from daddy's camera, i would be out taking photos around about an hour ago, Bulbs are fine, i can even change them over to the passenger side an they work flawlessly. SYSTOMS - dull beam - Unplugging the square light, kills both (doesn't do this on the passenger side, full beam light stays lit) - Full beam doesn't work on drivers side - Spots still work on both sides - Unplugging main beam light doesn't kill square light Im thinking its a bad earth but only on the drivers side, have checked fuses in the bay, but they are fine, cant seem to get the relays out to check (i have rubber coated ones), is there a specific clip i need to get to: to remove them? or am i just going blind in my old age?

we should all get together an do a days of thunder remake with zeds

Sorry guys going to get a lot of questions from me for the next for weeks, as I've now started on my 300zx now its arrived home yesterday, Right i have a problem with my drivers side front light cluster, both lights turn on, but the front drivers side is very dim, both seem to be working just doesn't seem like enough power is getting to them, passenger side is working as it should.....ho you know what ill go get some photos and post them to show you what i mean..

AArrrgghh! damn you DTM lol, looks like ill be placing an order for somethings now ive seen your website, just wanna make sure my replacement engine is in first so i know ive defo got a working car to put things on lol

Thats my Zed, dunno who's the lambo is though, but i was wondering what a sliver Zed would look like with the smoked tail lights... i did mention it back on page 1 i do believe.

DVLA state that you can drive to the MOT and from the MOT but must use the quickest and shortest route possible TO the MOT station, it makes no mention of whether you pass or not, it also makes no mention of distance to the MOT station and back, it just needs to be the quickest and shorted journey, You also need to be able to prove that the MOT is booked for the day of travel. This is up to interpretation i know, but theoretically you can drive from john o'groats to lands end, as long as you can prove you have a MOT booked for that day. Oh you need to be insured on the vehicle in question as well. But as your MOT cert is only valid for the day you obtain it, in practise everyone drives for 364 days of the year with out one anyway lol

looks fine to me, You might want to try getting hold of a DSLR though, they take stunning photos, get a Cannon EOS 3xx (anything really in the 300 range) they pretty much do all the work for you and still look very professional. Also, as i take it your using a digital camera, have you tried changing the lighting on it to landscape, i find on the non SLR camera's this tends to bring out the color better.

Right just had a look at that, and its £280 for the single camera just over 500 for the double front and back, and you don't need to subscribe, it records all the data and the GPS data strait onto a memory card. Yeah think ill be investing in one of them sounds like an awesome bit of kit, will also prove if anyone hits you, or more importantly if you go into the back of someone due to there breaks not working. friend had that happen on our local dual carriageway, where the guy not only cut in front of her, he then break hard and his break lights weren't working, but because they couldn't prove weather or not his lights were working before the accident, she was in the wrong.
