  1. This is our second, we have a little girl already who just loves sitting in the Zed drivers seat with steering wheel in handing making vroooom noises lol, yeah might have to change the S to a Z, do you think the misses would notice? :)
  2. Arrgh lol, Took the misses to the hospital today to have a presentation scan due to the local midwife thinking our baby was in a breach position (ass down, head up for those not in the know) as shes 37 weeks and 5 days. Baby was indeed upside down, so we are booked in on Thursday to see if they can turn the baby, if it all goes tits up, shes looking at a cesarean section the same day. how bloody inconvenient, was hoping to get the car fixed before then lol (im joking i cant wait till little one is here, but did want to get the car sorted out before then) scan shows the baby to be a boy, so will be naming him 300zx fairlady........ naa be naming him Wesley :D if she does drop on thursday ill get some pictures of him for all your women to ooh and arr over. (or say "Gowd what a ugly bugger" lol)
  3. thank you for the confirmation.
  4. Thanks for that, reason i asked was for some reason (only on the rears) the dust boots seem to have gone very hard and brittle??? and basically just shattered, like they had been heated to the point they dried out if that makes any sense? Anyway, back to this problem of groovers MOT. does seem odd that the guy didn't know a 350z
  5. Is it a free retest? if not then id be complaining that the vehicle was tested as a different car completely, id question his ability to do the job and ask for the manager. not to be an ass, but at the moment you have basically been robbed, he has tested your car as something it is clearly not. You might want to take your car back with some pictures of what a 350Z looks like and ask him to point out where he thinks your car resembles it. Also, it wouldn't be a valid fail due to this, so even if it did affect the old MOT, it wouldn't this time. and that would even stand up in a court of law, a good solicitor would pick that point up strait away and win the case based on that info. As for side lights, take a copy of where it clearly states the sidelights, and ask him to point out exactly what it failed on. clearly sounds to me like he hasn't got a clue what he is doing, cert or not. I personally wouldn't be a very happy bunny. PS, not to hijack the thread or anything, but a question to the MOT peeps, can you fail on shock dust boots that have disintegrated? as i cant find anything in the MOT hand book that states they need to be OK. the only ones i know of are the tie rod gaiters.
  6. it should say on the V5 the year of manufacture, mine did think its on the front or near the center line when opened, it should still clearly state the date of manufacture. would check for you but its currently still at DVLA getting its owner changed over to me.
  7. I got charge £28 then another £35 for going 0.16p over drawn, due to the system not updating properly and i thought i still had some cash in my account, this was last year while waiting for a pay check that the bank magically lost... this is a well known high street bank, charges like that can not be justified, and to be honest, although i payed it, im not too happy about it, thats a very high mark up. 0.16p and getting charged £62. I can see how people end up in debt with bank charges. its horrendous. needless to say, i try and maintain my account always in the black now. id like to get them charges back tbh as that would definitely be a case of overcharging. yes it was in the small print. but when you go to the cash machine and its saying you still have such and such available, only to spend it, then get a letter saying your over drawn, and when you look, its because the damn thing didn't update from a previous card use. thats a bit *****cks to me. In this day and age with the technology we have, it should update almost instantly. not over a period of 3 to 4 days for something as simple as a chip and pin transaction that the banks forced on us in the first place. as for people being in debt and then being offered more cash, personally i think thats the banks fault. yes there is also some responsibility from the customer, but ultimately a bank should not be offering anymore cash until the debt outstanding is paid off. thats more irresponsible than the person accepting it.
  8. wouldn't that of helped the fuel leak? id imagin the vibrations from that accelerates the fuel tank leak problem
  9. same here, I've used one of the wd40 directional spray plastic tubes (small red tube you get for sticking in the nozzle) under the rubber, hasn't fixed the problem, but has made it less of a leak.
  10. I have a car seat from the makers JEEP (the buggy not the car manufacturer) and it fits snugly in the rear seats behind the misses. though my misses can have her car seat well forward because shes a short ass lol (shes going to kill me when she reads this haha)
  11. If they are hard to make out, then there not 300zx.co.uk stickers. mine stick out a mile on my car as they pretty much cover the first 1inch and a half of the lower end of the side windows. as i said, they are not small stickers lol That smoke looks like normal cold weather mist coming from the exhausts. but saying that, i still wouldn't want to by a car based on that video.
  12. I cant see the stickers, they are quite a bit bigger than the ones visible in the side windows. check my ride for how the stickers look.
  13. the only problem i have is, due to one engine going on me already, i get nervous over every little sound, hard to explain but the other thing is I've still yet to hear a Zed if you know what i mean, it might be my paranoia but my Zed just doesnt sound right. i think i should reword that. what i mean is, too me as I've yet to hear a zed in the flesh that has nothing wrong with it. i cant tell if mine is sounding like it should or not... does that make sense?
  14. ouch, just rang Nissan about the gaiter, wheel nut and wheel stud gaiter = competitive @ £21 (good price) wheel stud £1.89 (what i expected) Wheel nut.......... for 1.........£6 ??? what the...is it made of gold or something?
  15. Good job i have a garage just down the road from me on a industrial estate, its rather empty as well so could put my foot down. i think i was hanging on rather than driving. Be up to see you for a cuppa Baz soon as its sorted out properly, just got about 4 items i need to do. 1. tighten the hand brake 2. Still need to sort out this headlight problem 3. Front track rod gaiter needs replacing due to being split down the middle. 4. Replace a broken wheel stud on the front hub and get a wheel nut from somewhere. Horn is now working, found out what the problem was when i tried to take the relay out, top popped off and there was a bit of paper wedged in between the contacts??? New tires are grippe as hell. Exhaust is now tightened up in the middle so she now idles a lot better, and doesnt smell so rich. did the new brake pads on the fronts yesterday. Annoyingly every time i fix one thing, i find something else i need to fix lol. but its getting done slowly but surly. i have just over 2 weeks to sort the car out fully, ready for the new arrival.
  16. Finally got the chance to take the car for a proper test drive today as had to get the new tires on the rear..... Im still shaking lol, its frigging scary to drive, even for a N/A the acceleration is jaw dropping, after parking it up i got out a nervous wreck lol. I LOVE MY 300 :D
  17. Just be positive, keep your chin up and dont absorb the negativity
  18. the only positive thing that can come from a thread that's so negative. is actually finding out that it is indeed negative. im positively sure on that!
  19. zx-eyes, dont fall for the high mega pixel stuff. unless your planning on blowing up the image to poster size proportions. a 5 to 8 mega pixel camera is fine for normal everyday pictures. if your planning on making posters. then go for a high mega pixel camera. best camera is the one with the correct lighting settings on it. a good auto focus. and mainly one that fits your needs. So with this in mind, what do you plan to do with the camera? normal family / car use? or astrophotography / paparazzi / poster maker / natural world correspondent? then it would be easier to point you in the right direction
  20. she starts fine, then a few seconds later shes all over the place, sometimes she sits at 2000rpm, others she drops to around 500rpm and wants to just die. found a nice air leak on the intake pipe to throttle body due to the plastic getting bent over and under the jubilee clip. sorted that out, now she just wants to sit around 700rpm idling, still need to sort out the idle valve control now. as i adjusted it when it was revving so low last time.
  21. I fix LCD and plasma screens on the side, and i can tell you now, the difference in quality in picture between the two is astonishing when put side by side. 9/10 times you get some kind of screen fuzz around the outside edges of sharp lines on a large LCD, where as this doesnt happen on a plasma. LCD screen life is just the same as a plasma, (around 60k hours) plasma gas does not deteriorate as everyone thinks, i have a 42" JVC plasma monitor in the living room from 2001 and the picture is just as sharp as when it was brand spankers back in the in July of 2001 (and no screen burn) Also the plasma doesnt suffer pixelization of the screen when fast moving images are on them. If going for a small flat screen TV go for a LCD, it can be crisper at lower screen sizes, soon as you hit anything above 28" id be opting for a plasma screen, the blacks are black. the picture quality is far superior (just check out any LCD of the same size next to a plasma it is clearly visible even on today's screens) As for screen burn, this is tested but might vary slightly depending on screen make, but took well over 4 weeks of constant use of the same image to show signs of screen burn. this was on NEC 42" plasma screen from 2002 as well. So for short bursts of gaming, unless your going to be glued to the screen, screen burn shouldn't be a problem.
  22. Pm sent matey. shame about the Zed could of helped you with the water leak, although now have 3 weeks to get the Zed on the road. if your still having problems by then, ill return the favor and pop over and give you a hand :D
