nelly can you make it over to wellingborough tomorrow? bring your Zed and i can compare lol , if not no bother, zedwiz, I've looked at that till im blue in the face, before i even posted, i tried to match up the vacuum pipes, but its too unclear on some of the pipes so cant be 100% sure im doing it correctly. I also tried following the write up on ROBO's website about all the deletes, but hes just too vague about it.

1 = actuator (pressure gets too high, it opens the waste gate inside the turbo, that by passes the impeller, effectively cutting the turbo out of the equation) 2 = Impeller side (sucks air in from intercooler) 3 = Exhaust impeller (revolves once the flow of air from the exhaust gasses gets high enough, thus driving the impeller side, to suck and compress air into the chamber giving more air per fuel mix) 4 = cant be too sure on this one, looks like oil inlet pipe 5 = intercooler pipe (bit that air travels down once its come from the intercooler, into the impeller side of the turbo, ready to be compressed) 6 = water inlet or outlet pipe (though this and number 4 might be the other way around)

With all the N/A Zeds on here, surely someone must know the lay out of these vacuum pipes?

Bit of an update. Been out to the car, changed the TBS over and it still did it, i then adjusted the throttle idler, to bring the car up to around 1k RPM as if i try and get it to idle any lower, it just wants to die. Sat it there idling away, and the revs started creeping back up, then i heard a very strange pooosh sound in time with the engine rotating. and the revs climbed slightly to around 1.2k rpm, and sat there until i went and tapped the idler. The exhuast isn't blowing any kind of smoke, but someone said it smelled like it was running rich. Car comes up to temperature and stays there. so fans and coolant are working ok. might change the temp sensor over tomorrow for the one on my old engine and see if that has anything to do with it. might also try known working spark plugs from my old engine as it does sound like its miss firing every now and then. so id say its definitely det'ing (unless im well wrong lol) Update on the lights. wired the left hand side light to the right hand side light too see if that fixes anything, but all that did was create the problem of only having one high beam (passenger side) and no side lights ??? So reversed the wiring, and have the old problem of the drivers side just not lighting up very well. Arrrggghhh lol, but ill get there. Just really need to sort this idle problem now.

Does a N/A have boost hoses? i have a spare TPS ill try that, MAF was the same one that was on the car to start with before the engine blew and it was working fine then, but ill test it anyway. might be the idle speed. the oil pressure gauge on the dash shows its losing pressure as its trying to idle, could this be something to do with it? or is that just a symptom of it dieing at such low revs? All bolts on balance bar accounted for and present :D also nice and tightly done up. Could it be the exhaust back pressure causing the problem due to it not being done up in the middle? (need new bolts and gasket)

As title, my car just wants to die, not sure if its to do with these vacuum pipes or not. any hints as to where to start looking?

Right ive connected up the vacuum leads, trying to follow this best i can, but now my engine is back firing so its obviously wrong. anyone know?

its simple really, all you have to do is pay attention to how the fan and cowling work RAD-> COWLING --> FAN, thus no effect on directing airflow. now if it was RAD-> FAN --> COWLING, then that shows that the cowling is directing airflow. So as smithy quite rightly put, the cowling is just there to stop you making SAW 7

Don't forget the pilot bushing and just dont damage the crank :) Hope your auto bushing comes out easier than mine did. and good luck

Right I've done a search, all over this site and the Internet. i can find plenty of literature and diagrams on the vacuum pipe work for the TT but nothing for N/A. I asked in a different thread that was already crated, but didn't get anything, so thought it might generate more interest and i might get the answer i need from this one. So Does anyone have a diagram like this (or can modify this one) for the vacuum piping that goes around the N/A, i know its almost the same, but i need to be 100% sure. i haven't eliminated anything just yet. and want to make sure that my rich running (from the smell of it) isn't to do with the vacuum lines.

Last time i checked cats dont eat your Zed :) wonder if anyone rents cats out lol

check first. but with me they couldn't get it below £1300, with garage, thatcham 2 approved immobie. and not a daily driver. but also remember i have a import (for some reason still higher on insurance) 2 years no claims. age 31 married.
