Finally can what it,ll look like
It,s a bit awkward to see in a garage ( well a tent actually , lol ) but got the car on the street today and Mantav8 helped me drop the bits on her to see if it all lines up ok and just too see it in one piece . Got the N/S shut and back of the door painted as well ready to go back on permanantly . And this is the standard nose panel i,ve nearly finished modding , no guesses which one influenced me  Washers jets have gone as well . Just need to block all the O/S down and re-prime it then it,s alot of final flatting and fettling ready to get it painted which i,ve decided to do myself , i was gonna get one of our painters to do it but thought well i,ve gone this far , i might as well paint it myself and at least i can say i did it all , i,ve not sprayed a whole car for about 20 years but i used to really enjoy spraying so bugger it i,ll give it a go ! lol

sand blasting rims?
I,ve just had a set done , they bead blasted them and powder coated them apparently you can make a right mess of them with sand blasting as it can remove too much of the alloy , bead blasting is alot kinder on alloy ! These were in a bit of a state , they originally had stainless steel lip trims on and it,s these that caused alot of the corrosion so i got the grinder on them and removed them . With the trims on Without , you can see how much corrosion was under them :crying: And finished , i like them without the trims , not that they can be replaced anyway . This place advertises on ebay and charges £35+vat a rim .HTH http://www.litefabsandcoatings.co.uk

Fitting 40 profile on 18,s on the rear
I know but if you think of the difference between a new tyre with 8mm and a worn one with 2mm , there,s a 12mm difference in height just on wear alone that,s why i was thinking a 10mm difference in standard height can,t make that much of a difference with the speedo :confused:

Fitting a LED third brake light
I,ve seen these Graham , in fact i,ve using them for my angel eyes lol , the only problem is i,ve seen quite a few others with these type fitted that have blown led,s but for how much they are then it,s not an expensive job to replace them , it,s just risking removing the brittle trim to get access that,s why i wanted a quality one with SMD,s , they seem to last far longer .

Fitting 40 profile on 18,s on the rear
Can anyone see a problem in doing this , i know they should be 35 profile but i,ve got a perfect pair of Potenzas that are like new and it seems a shame not to use them . On the left is a 255/35/18 and on the right is 245/40/18 , what,s 10mm between friends :blushing: Not much in it

Fitting a LED third brake light
I,m going to be fitting a new black perspex tailgate trim with the brake light in , now i prefer like the look of a led brake light compared to the crappy four bulb Nissan one which when lit looks patchy cos of the bulb arrangment. I got a damaged led one off a Merc and removed the rest of the broken red lens Tried it against the remains of my old trim to see if it could be fitted and it looks like it,ll fit with alot of trimming The tailgate trim has two mounting bolts where the light is so i wanted to keep these intact so i removed everything around them and the red lens that,s inside the trim , a bit of fettling with a belt sander and in it went Looks far better than those poxy bulbs IMO but i am on the lookout for a slightly longer one as the led,s don,t go right to the ends with this one This was a practice run , i just need to do it on a new one costing £100 and is brittle !! lol

Finally rebuilt my lamp panels
It was the last bit of welding i needed to do , i fitted this a few years back but had to remove a fair bit of the lamp panels to do so But i want to go back to the standard style so using some cut off a scrapper i had to make good what i,d hacked off previously :blushing: So after a bit of trimming and fettling i got the new ones welded in I,m fitting the crystal lights from America and a few,s mentioned that they don,t fit quite right They curve more than a standard light so if they line up at each end the middle sticks out too far !! the only way to make it look right was to build out the rear panel a bit in these areas . This is before . and after Looks a bit better , you cant tell now it,s in primer
