If you're putting 5.1 in mate do a proper flush of the whole system, if its not had 5.1 in it before. Im pretty sure 5.1 wont mix with another other grades of brake fluid and can cause problems... although i could be completely wrong.....

Hicas + Power Steering + Response
lol, beat you too it ;)
-
Hicas + Power Steering + Response
check your power steering fluid first, that could be the cause of the hicas/ps problems, alternatively could be a dodgey speed sensor or a badly converted speedo (if its an import) i think... :) dunno about your acceleration probs though.. sorry

Decisions Decisions..
really? that speaks volumes I guess... I drove a 911 a few years back and was impressed, I guess I had better check them out again and compare the drive to the zed ...

DREADFUL fuel consumption
recently had both o2 sensors replaced by ryan... (both within the last 3 months) and the fuel tank does hiss when I open it... 72 litres?!?!?! that makes it even worse!!! argh....

Oh poo, Im having a bit of a nightmare.... I'm loving my Zed lots at the minute, its behaving pretty well (besides sucking too much juice...!) :D and following boost upgrade later this month will be (by my standards) as fast as fook... Im torn now between two ideas... pumping a few more grand into the old girl... new wheels, leather interior, and a few other bits and bobs... or... spend nothing (besides servicing) keep her for a few months, flog her or break her... then get an early 90's Porsche 911.... (about 14-15k's worth) what do you reckon? I think the porkers from that time still look pretty up-to-date and as with all cars If i get a goodun should be relatively trouble free. (no turbos to worry about, will be getting an NA!) Parts, running and insurance is probably going to cost similar to the zed anyway, labour at porsche will cost a bomb though... the main plus that I can see is the depreciation, compared to the zed a porsche will keep its value really well...

DREADFUL fuel consumption
exactly thats kind of what I was expecting, not getting anywhere close to that though... I'm not running boost jets and im fairly certain my ecu is stock... (now theres an idea, maybe if the ecu is chipped and the boost jets removed i could be running rich?!?!?!) SHIT just worked it out, (tank on a zed is 60 litres right?) Im getting 7-8MPG when I boot it! something MUST be wrong!!! :hurl:

soggy MAF/filter
was bloody wet here yesterday when I was driving and Im pretty certain I managed to get my MAF a bit soggy, had rough running/hesitation over 3k revs, jerky acceleration when it did decide to go over 3k that kind of stuff... seems fine today in the dry so Im assuming it was the water... question is what can be done to stop it other than not driving in the wet!! :D Its a real pain when you're stuck behind a 4x4 on the m-way kicking up gallons of spray and you know its all getting sucked stright into your filter! :( anybody come up with some fancy "weather shield" ideas?

DREADFUL fuel consumption
help My economy is even worse than most.. If I drive super sensible I can eek about 200-250 miles from a tank but thats going REALLY slow... this is acceptable but I worry about If I boot it for a bit I can literally watch the petrol guage do down!! 100 miles to a full tank of optimax when driving quick  is this normal? Im wondering if im running a bit rich or maybe have a leak somewhere... Going to order a smithy fuel line kit because I get the usual petrol stink on startup but it cant be leaking that much can it? AIV's have holes drilled in them to stop the gurgle, these affect fueling dont they? cheers dave
