  1. Thanks fella, sorry to be hovering like a vulture when you're having to ditch your pride and joy... but always best to buy a car from a proper enthusiast! I'll check out the rides section, wont be until mid June until Im in a position to part with any dough (plus I need to sort out parking situation and pacify the better half about the whole idea too!) Cheers Dave
  2. Hi Si, Im currently very tempted to rejoin the "fold" and If I decide to go for it I can guarantee a good home for your pride and joy! Can you PM me with details/specs/price etc? and a stack of photos would be nice too! Thanks
  3. Thats the one! glad to see its still "alive" Someone had fitted leather, new wheels and some spangly wipers! either that or the plate has gone to a remarkably similar car! Thanks for tracking her down! really want one again now! not sure if the missus will let me have three cars, but I can always try :) off to the classified section I go!
  4. Afternoon all, I've sorted of stumbled back here after 3 or 4 years after being asked for assitance with someone elses zed. Is the owner of my old car active here? was a 1990 LWB, J-spec witha '99 spec front end and sprayed in bayside blue. It had a collection of blingy bits jammed under the bonnet and some minor performance tweaking. I'd love to know if the old girl is still on the road! Reg was A2 XFL (let me know if you're not happy about reg numbers being on the post and I will delete) Having since gone through an M3, 406 coupe, 406 diesel and now an Audi S8 and TVR Tuscan I have a bit of a hankering to get a zed again now! Whats a mint late model TT 300zx going for these days? Cheers Dave
  5. ahhhhhhhh now I remember, "behind the bit of plywood" ;) (Im sure I remember using that website loads too!) Thank you very much! Dave
  6. Hi All, Not sure If I will be remembered, I used to be a regular here a few years ago and cheeky as it is I need a bit of advice. I've been lumped with helping a mate-of-a-mate with his 300zx which as far as I could tell from the brief phone conversation has gone into safe boost mode. Now its been years since I went near a zed with my spanners, but I was half handy "back in the day" Could someone please refresh my memory as to where the ECU lives and the error codes that flash? (does it "do its flashing" when you turn the ignition on?) Apparently he might have overfilled it with oil, which Im sure isnt healthy, will just have to wait and see.. Thank you in advance, and sorry for being a cheeky sod! Dave
  7. oi enough beemer bashing you bunch of gits! ;) hats off though, you did well to trounce a new e46 M3, they are bloody quick cars. Im already thinking of ditching the M3 this autumn and getting a honda s2000 instead!

  9. Im driving ANOTHER courtesy car from the garage where I got my M3, this time its a '97 M3 evo, which would appear to be fooked!! :D Got it home and it was running like a bag of nails, checked the oil and it wasnt even showing on the dipstick, dunno how it didnt sieze!! chucked a couple of litres of mobil1 in there and now its a mobile smoke machine! burning oil like crazy!!! fooked head gasket?

Ive stopped for 6-12 months straight then started again cos of woman/work problems.... :( (still smoking now) The best bit is getting you sense of taste and smell back!! its amazing how much smokers stink! ;) and expect to pile on a few pounds in weight!

  23. I did 170mph in my pretty much stock zed, and that was verified by my GPS thingie (Im assuming they are accurate).. took a while to get up there and even longer to slow down again! :) Im sure it would have gone faster but I pooed myself and had to pull over to empty my pants... all on my very own private test track...
  24. PMSL I dont think any self respecting person is going to admit being anywhere near basingstoke Ice Rink on a saturday night! ;)
