  1. i think im going to cry now.... fixed botyh faults now code 55 yay (all good) ... nope...:censored: she may have fired up but shes running sooooo lumpy its frustrating, my instant though was oh shit i've lost a cylinder... nope all 6 are firing, (unplugged each in turn.) theirs no smoke but its obviously misfiring, tried letting her run for a min or 2 in case id flooded it when tring to start earlier but nope. anyone have any ideas,
  2. just done an ecu check, got 21 and 13, so ptu and engine temp sensor, (well temp sensors why it runns rich:blushing:) why is the ptu not working tried 2 ptus the one that was on the car and the one from my red one both good ptus? and suggestions?
  3. right thought id do some maintenance today, striped all the intake hoses back, replaced the cracked ones and refitted, also replaced the ptu with a known good one, and same with the maf, then cleaned the connectors on the rad temp sensor, and the tps. put it all back together and now she turns over but wont start!!! really confused, i then changed the ptu and maf back to the originals still no start... she turns over, but not starting, and their is fuel pressure. help!!!!1
  4. i know this is a common thread so i apologize, my new zed runs rich and im trying to work out why, she has a good idle and no black smoke, however she smells of fuel and the exhausts sooty. i know obvious ones like boost/ vacuum leak but the id say the gauge reads about right. she ran low on fuel the other day but she was running rich before that, not sure what else to try, she's going to zedworld for a cambelt/ service at the end of the month, just wondering if anyones got any suggestions until then?
  5. found the water leak... the rad cap doesn't stay in place so was letting steam out when hot, no idea how to fix it though tried a couple of rad caps no stay on... and fixed the brakes they were shot. the groves no longer were and the pads on existent lol.... although she still runs rich, and the exhaust wont stay sealed up... and i cant find my indicator.... :cursing::censored::hang:

  8. right the previous owner said it was lowered he presumed cut springs, however when i was changing the brakes over with the better ones from my red one i found these, they have kyb? and a load of japanese writing on them, as well as the sticker but cant read it properly, it ends in SR and starts with NE???? anyone know anything about them? any good? full name?
  9. no carpets were dry, even the targa seals did their job, one note on that when i first put the water in a reved it slightly the level moved, after a few more and a bit more water it stopped doing it? water seems to be all water and anti freeze , thefirst incline was the rad really wasn't very hot compared to the rest of the car...? put maybe a litre of water in if that.
  10. got a few little annyoing thing any ideas on how to fix them, one is the new exhuast wasn't fitted correctly so it has a zorst leak, ( but i know how to fix this - buy some new down pipes and fit my single one... :tongue_smilie: ) the other is the water level appears to be going down, yet their are no leaks and definitely no smoke? any ideas? car holds temperature and runs well other is she runs rich ( not so much now i've fitted my remmaped ecu, but still not quite right? other shes a bit tappy? and their is an annoying squeak from the front brakes ? only when not using them? time for new ones????? but by far the most annoying is i cant find my missing smoked indicator...!!!! had half the garage out and still no signs of it.

  12. i did look in the faq's but cant find anything, i've been going over my new zed with a fine tooth comb looking for what i can swap/ need to fix or replace. and have found that it still runs the std oil cooler (jap auto) but my red one has a mocal oil cooler and the std one is the auto box cooler, is their any write ups on how to fit one of these id like to swap it over to the new zed i was thinking i might just remove it from my red one and ask zedworld to fit it for me if they do the cam belt and service? its fairly std is running it as is doing any real harm for normal road use? only temporarily. still cant find my missing smoked indicator lol...!!!
  13. im not disclosing where, or any names, but my mates car :innocent: has never had an emission test done, they accidently put the exhuast probe in the car next to it :oops:
  14. they are complete cowboys at kwik fit, take it all the way, that's terrible about the little boy, i took an s13 into them for an mot, said id pick it up the next day as i dropped it off late, got a call from a mate about 10pm ish said he'd just seen my car speeding down the A27, when i went to collect it the car was pouring out with smoke and the turbo was winning, so god know what they did, *******s failed its mot then claimed it was like that when i dropped it off.... they bloody got away with it too as couldn't prove they had take the car out...

  16. yeah sorry meant '90, the one im going to see this week is a '91 on the dvla website is say "vehicles register after..... " so in theory its possible just want to see if anyone had done it, but if jeff had then that's great news
  17. was just thinking, my zed was an import and im looking at new regs, (not for now for when/ if its fixed) its a G reg now and is a '91, but technically its first registered in 2003, so could i have a current style reg on it?
  18. thanks, i read something similar to the twinturbo stuff on what they did and i couldn't see the point of them over a boost controller imo it seemed like a bit of a bodge, was just checking i hadn't missed something, i'd not heard of them being used, had always gone for manual or ebc, although the faq on fitting a profec B makes no sense what so ever to me? i has thinking i could just get a second solenoid lol, not have to re do half the vacuum lines.
  19. thanks for the answers, i've got an old profec sitting around from when i owned an S13, it should still work just need to work out how it fits a Twin turbo lol, iirc their is a how to in the FAQ section, does anyone know what would be a good boost gauge? got a few cheap ones laying about but i want a good one, was thinking of one of the kool looking drift iridium ones Z-centre sell.
  20. quick question, once i get my zed sorted ill be looking to try to get a bit more bhp out of it i was thinking of using a jwt chip and boost jest, but my question is could i not use an accurate boost controller like a profec B, instead of boost jets? ill be fitting cooler plugs before i do anything, and a good boost gauge.

  22. added note on insurance when my zed was stolen back in jan got 2800 for it, (less remained of my insurance) they have a value in their books of about 1700 but they have to take current market value into account, so look on auto trader and piston-heads etc and they give you a rough value, mine was a black jap TT auto* police are useless, they probably wont even look for it, they will just mark it as stolen and if it appears on an anpr camera they will try to stop it.
  23. use the covers/bags if you have them, failing that bubble wrap 'em, they should take the weight of a pushchair, as had a spare wheel sitting on mine before, without knowing if you have a lwb or swb and if we're talking normal pushchair or one of these huge all terrain ones cant help any more lol
  24. i think his zed was black, (just looked at other threads) yeah garage is totally liable, the fact he's being so defensive makes it sound like an inside job, my poor zed was stolen in jan last year, they stick out like a sore thump particularly in London, so if they are stupid enough to drive it it may turn up on a camera. as long as it doesn't end up like mine probably did broken for parts or sold abroad... good luck getting it back, mate, hope they catch the fcukers
