  1. some Zeds's had precat fitted to them, they are basically mini cat type things located between the turbo elbow and downpipes. (i think) personally i havn't seen one on a zed yet, but thoses pipes are for cars without the precats. so if your system looks like this... you should be alright. but if you have somthing similar to this... VVV ... they wont fit.
  2. sounds like an amazing project, funny i was just thinking to my self if a Z could get above the 200 mark, i did actually start looking into it and i found although the weight and power were a major factor the body, and gearbox were just as important, but saying that the standard Z had a coefficient of i think 0.30? (correct me if im wrong.) most skylines its about 0.40 and there are a fair few 200+mph skyline out there, obviously i don't know anything about your Z but im not sure a standard Z box could do 200, i started to look into gearbox conversions, and then i found it was all out of my budget...:crying: looking forward to hearing more of this project... good luck:thumbup1:
  3. no i don't think that's what he meant... i assume he meant to use it over the engine bay and look for where its getting deformed by the vacuum, it guess it could work if you boosted the car with the smoke over it but if t were me id fit an extended air intake so the engine doesn't suck any of that crap into it. personally id use the conventional method and use a small atomised water jet, tried and tested as long as you keep it away from elecy bits.
  4. i have one of those drift Rc, a modified tamiya TT-01 D, i have to admit its great fun, and is actually really hard to set up well, all adjustable suspension, camber and toe but i have to say cant hold a candle to actually drifting, i miss my old S13, was sooo much fun, the Zed's not that bad either...
  5. I've seen the top gear Z lol was at wings and wheels 2009, but apparently im ...sparky maskel... ?
  6. haha :rofl::rofl: very true...
  7. Silkolene pro s 10w50 is a really good oil, i use my zed on tracks etc, so i need a good oil, Mobil 1 is water, and i ran castrol in my old S13 and it never really worked that well i just want to know if 10-50 is ok for a zed lol
  8. its funny you should say that because it is...
  9. right has anyone run a Z on 10w-50 oil before? my whole cars been stripped back, new gaskets turbos, feeds and various other mods, ( its not finished yet as have run out of funds to get the last few bits, ) have been offered some Silkolene pro s 10w50 at £36 for 5litres oil on a group buy with my other club and wondering how the Z would cope with it.
  10. i had my old black Zed stolen back in January, so my advise would be never go to Bolton..., and if someone wants it bad enough they will get it no matter what you do., my z had a cat 1 alarm immobiliser, id remover the starter fuse from under the bonnet and removed a wheel from the car, and they still got it, forgetting how good any locks alarms are , they lifted it on to a tow truck during the day, never saw it again... it was there at 6am gone by 9pm... *******s... [/size] but my advise would be when you get an alarm get the best you can afford, and get tilt sensors lol.
  11. hi mate had a Z since im 21 had my z since i was 20 though, i was insured with admiral too, dont get a N/a as they wont insure them... have to be 21 for an import i got a TT cat 1 alarm, keep on a drive, was 1500 fully comp (baring in mind i have had a few incidents in the past...had a car wrote off, and a zed stolen , ) but as for reliability they can be very reliable if you get a good well maintained one, and you look after it. as for monthly costs, up till a few eeks ago my TT auto hadn't had a penny spent on it, was costing my including insurance maybe £220 a month
  12. wow theres another red Z in haywards heath, dam thought somone had seen mine...:(
  13. hi it was the first thing i did on my jap auto too, blanked the radiator out all together (so i can fit an alloy one) plumbed the auto box fluid through the std oil cooler (after cleaning it out) then fitted a mocal cooler for the oil Z centre kit is what i used the calsonic cooler is the oem oil cooler, and in the jap one the only auto cooler is in the radiator if the oil cooler at the front is already the auto cooler, then maybe there is a oil cooler in one of the wings, but id dout it, as to fit 2 at the front is the normal thing. the lines might just have been looped round and you may not have an oil cooler at all.
  14. thanks for the help, i had no idea what i had to do, its only a EGR eliminator kit, so only about £50 inc delivery so should be about £10 as far as i can tell, like i said not done it before so no idea
  15. yeah tried that with a really thin oil, (wd40 type stuff) didn't go down at all!!! in any of the cylinders or valves i found the problem anyway... an injector was to blame, looked like it was running and for all purposes it was but the seals had gone round it, so wasn't fuelling the cylinder properly, i cant believe i missed it.... took the whole bloody Z apart too...
  16. hi, was wondering if anyone can tell me how it works? have just ordered a couple of things from Z1, think duty is about £10, but how does it work? ie how do i pay it? etc..? sorry ive never bought anything like this before...
  17. i have to say i had one on my old S13 and it was amazing, the best ecu ever, (ran perfect at 320BHP), but unfortunately they did do something wrong on the Z's one... nice, love the glove box install!!!
  18. i've heard of the new supra before, but they plan to make it a hybrid... thats no joke... :crying:
  19. been doing some research... the grey ones are std, just discoloured, and the purple are OEM replacements, so they are all 370cc injectors...
  20. personally id avoid parcels2go and DHL, i've had nothing but problems with both, parcels2go to go still owe my a few hundred pounds for a "lost" set of alloys, thieving :cowboy:'s and DHL have broken 2 body-kits and a bonnet and their custom service is shi*e however did always get a refund, (after a few weeks of calling them)
  21. my mate had a similar problem on his Mitsubishi was that it didn't have enough fluid in it, so it went into failsafe, and my old Z got stuck in first once, but reset the ecu and she was fine again however if its failed id suggest a manual conversion, as the overhaul on my new auto Z cost a stupid amount. (previous owner had it done not me, id have gone manual)
  22. o.k. once they are out they are grey not green. but the fualt with my car was caused by the purple injector, (it fell out when the rail came out, but all the others were nasty to get out, hech damage to grey one, im replacing the lot but want to know what to replace them with?
  23. after the thread started on wrong injectors, checked mine and found this? 2 purple 4 greenish? im confused, i think the purple are SR injectors, but what are the others, ?
  24. there you go another Zed with messed up injectors, this is mine has 2 purple injectors??? and the other 4 are greenish?? i assume the 2 purple are sr injectors. but WTF?
  25. might be a stupid question but my injectors are greenish not brown? are these wrong too?
