as title really, since my decats are not here yet i got bored and attacked my '89 spec spoiler, well it came off, took alot of paint with it lol, glad the cars getting painted/ wrapped soon, i need to get a perspex strip, do they cover the brake light hole? got a few ideas with what to replace it with, as i personally don't like it smooth. got a mid level spoiler in my garage for a zed but dont know how i would attach it? any ideas their is no way to bolt it on as couldn't get to the other side anyway. its either this or a huge carbon drift spoiler, so trying this first lol.

im confused does anyone know a Richard magson? from Buckinghamshire. purely because i got a missed delivery yesterday, got all excited it was either my interior or my decats, then it turned out to be a small box with 2 dirty 300zx filters (std) ones in it??? its got my name and number on the box but i don't think i know anyone in that area? just really confused me as someone gone through the effort of next day delivering these, i assume they have gone to me by mistake.

saw it at the big roundabout in manor royal yesterday about 1:20 ish, didn't get a good look at it as i went past in my zed on the way to work, gave it a beep and a nod but don't know if you noticed lol.

i love the idea of this project. assume your going to up the power of the Fj or SR? personally id be fitting the biggest engine i could, RB26, LS9? good luck.:thumbup:

i know lol ran it with a bung at all times, we took it out to test the noise and it was 135db... it was literally a straight pipe with a 4" back box, was ordered by a police man not to drive on the road without the bung lol. was replaced with a apex system before the MOT as it was annoying everyone including me. was surprisingly quite on idle though was only as the T3 kicked in it got loud. :offtopic: sorry. no more S13 talk.

i know mines over, but one of those exhaust bungs brings it down just enough, i always though it was 129 for castle combe, maybe that's just japfest... i know they didn't let my old s13 out because it was 135db!!! lol dont ask how you make a 1.8 that loud as im not sure tbh... :clap:

welcome to the club :thumbup: personally i binned the a/c on all of my zeds, saps power, weighs alot, but that's all down to personal preference, (and if you have a targa or not) as for spoiler in short messy to remove, just about to replace mine with a mid level spoiler. i like yellow zeds, but get some pictures up so we can lol

just had a thought, if its castle combe whats the db limit? might have to make/find a bung or a silencer lol.

sorry to hear it, what c***s , what kinda slam pannel was it? noticed this yesterday was going to bid...

800 whole car wrap in the OEM gold colour (or near enough to it) best quote for paint was 3200. my mate had is car done in matt black wrap, not sure it would suit a zed (think theirs one on here actually) but still looks new 2 years on, only problem is its not easy to repair if damaged, a whole panel has to be re-wrapped cant just touch up, but then again most touch ups look cr@p IMO, don't know how people get paint jobs so cheap... :( know someone who had his wrapped white, was one of the best white cars i'd seen so crisp. but he wrote it off so cant comment on the life of that.

wouldn't personally go carbon fibre... bits a bit tacky if its not real imo, but wrapping is a much cheaper and still good choice, im getting mine wrapped instead of paint as it was 3200 for paint 800 for wrap and the wrap is more to look even. seen a few examples too not of a zed but looks as good as paint imo.

oi.... :tt2: it doesn't deserve to be compared to that one... all right ill play along.. IMO 99 spec are the best zeds so JDM all the way...

i think this is a point less thread, its like saying which super model would you rather go out with, you wouldn't turn either down, and given the choice you'd have both :thumbup: a zeds a zed and they are all amazing (except that ones that look like they came out the bottom of a cereal box like that one lol) and for the record you can drift an auto Zed you just have to throw them into the comer a bit harder then a manual, and just catch it with the power IMO that's how i do it anyway.

i've been toying with the idea of playing with some of this EL stuff (electroluminescent) and im thinking what i could do with it, i want to make a backing for my radio blanking plate (stainless with fairlady laser cut into it) and im thinking of lighting the "300zx" in rear light cluster up. now im thinking what else i could do, i was thinking if i could replace the rear number plate bulbs with a el strip to make it look nice and uniform, and one of the others is to buy this paint it back like OEM and light the Z up? and opinions? ideas on this? my cars getting paint either gold or purple so a dont want any chrome on it. all would be light up blue apart from number plate that has to be white. don't want to end up like a chav'd-up-halfords-reject-mobile

ah my old one is soldered in ( its still attached to the speedo) where as the breakers one is a separate unit wired into the loom, i was planning just to run in KM for a while didn't know it would be off by so much though.

didn't think i knocked the needle, might have done, but yeah the converter s were different and as im refitting my old one when its been LED'd i wasn't going to spend ages redoing the converters, just confused at why it reads 10kph at a standstill.

just removed my speedo to send to groover for a led conversion :thumbup: so i fitted the one from my dead zed, but the speedo reads completely wrong now, i noticed they have different converters fitted (both are jap spec) it now reads in kph i thijnk either that or i was just doing 100 down the motorway and spo was the police car in front...lol... but starts at 10kph, so standstill = 10kph???? wtf? then reads far too high???
