Has anyone used t3 turbos before?
they do they have a 5 bolts on the exhaust housing instead of 4 but the manifold to turbo flange is the same, i know Z1 do 5 bolt turbo elbows for the Z, but most upgrade turbo's have different elbows, T3 depending on brand are very different, even T25 use the 5 bolt. (i've got most of my old S13's engine in my garage including a few of the old turbos, i've been thinking of fitting a pair of T28H from a pulsar gtir only have 1 tubby at the mo and it needs rebuilding but appears to fit if i had the 5 bolt elbows Z1 sell) here they are they are fairly expensive and i dont know of anywhere in the uk that sells them... anyone? http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_19&products_id=75 if you look at the turbos Z1 sell for reference the bigger turbos use the same 5 bolt as the other Nissans... http://www.z1motorsports.com/index.php?cPath=6_16&sort=6a&page=1

Has anyone used t3 turbos before?
tbh i got mine for 250 s/h hardly any miles on it, i agree they are not worth the asking price, but they are really good turbos, and as for buying ebay turbos not worth it at all, they are normally bad quality or not built right, particularly at that price... if you want a cheaper option a pair of S14 turbos the normal T28 you can get them cheap s/h just get them rebuilt, i bought an ebay turbo before it didn't fit the car it was meant to, and when i finally got it to fit (after having to re drill the flange) the thing seized within a couple of months...

low petrol warning light?
hah my petrol light sensor comes on as you run out of fuel, literally it comes on and you have about 2 miles at best worth or fuel.

Cool or sad?
dont get me wrong its cool but tbh id love to see the owners face when one of the cars flies of the track and smashes on of the bits of scenery,:innocent: i think its really cool, i gave all my old scalextric to my little brother a few years back and he reduced 2 of the cars to bits whin an hour haha..

Has anyone used t3 turbos before?
forget t3 you want a t28 super hybrid. like the ones Norris design sell, i got one second hand for my old S13 and it was the best turbo I've ever seen, loads of boost and nearly zero lag, on top of that would need no modifications to manifolds as its the same flange and you can get 5 bolt elbows for the zed from the us. http://www.norrisdesigns.com/proddetail.asp?prod=S13-012503

Lock up your Z
haha, that great... one of my mates rigged one of those atomisers that run off the spare tyre's air to his alarm, had the jets pointing out the front wheel arches, was really affective, well really funny till he need the spare tyre... but i think one of these would make a good deterant... Lock up your Z
my old black zed was stolen back in January, was stolen by a low loader, i left it outside a school, and it was stolen during a weekday, no one thought to question it? never saw my poor Z again ... it was parked between 2 cars, had a cat 1 alarm (with tilt sensors) and it only had 3 wheels on it... (was having a tyre replaced so was left on a jack...) police seemed to think they used a truck with a crane arm, but how the hell they did it without settting the alarm off or touching the cars eitherside, or without anyone asking any questions everyone on that street know it was my Z.... sorry rant over it just broght back bad memoires... :crying::crying::crying::crying:

swb =lwb
can of worms thread... :tongue_smilie: personally i like my LWB, but that's more because with the rear seats down i actually can fit stuff in the back, like my bike for when it inevitably breaks down, lets not start a civil war on this, don't fight with other Z lovers hate the supra drivers instead...

Hammond Top Gear 300ZX
haha love these vids, its funny it was hammonds 300zx that made me go and buy one too, i saw it up at dunsfold (they brought it back lol) poor car so many marks on it too, loved the decals though dont know how he got a manual TT for less then 1500, paid more for my auto...

insurance companies are really stupid...
lol don't know, should have been lower apart from the 3 claims I've had, was paying 1350 on my old Zed before it got hit by a bus and then stolen a week after i fixed it...
-
insurance companies are really stupid...
im with admiral too, but tried to get the quote on 2 different comparison sites, i have no ncb as last Z was stolen in January, its not the end of the world ill just keep my TT but just thought it was ridiculous to charge double to insure a slower car.
-
insurance companies are really stupid...
WTF...!!??! i just tried to get an insurance quote for a non-turbo Zed i was thinking of buying, and the insurance quote was double what i pay for my twin turbo??? i own a 1990 jap spec TT auto,im 21 and i pay 1500 for its insurance, after someone stole my last Zed... but though i know ill get a non turbo fairly cheap to buy, cheaper to run as a daily drive, thought it would be cheaper to insure... but they want just under 4K to insure it...!!! and that was the cheapest... how the hell am i more likely to crash / cause an accident in a manual n/a with 230bhp, then in an auto TT with declared 350bhp...... nothing else has changed, they both have cat 1 alarms, they both are imports, both LWB, and i always though auto were more to insure.... sorry rant over but i had to vent my confusion and anger somewhere...

thinking of selling:-(
my old zed did something similar, it was actually a bad gasket on the cam cover might be worth checking, only did it with the engine running and spat droplets onto the rear of the engine bay i should know about zeds being annoying mines got a phantom illness that's stopped it running since may lol, but at the end of the day, they are great looking cars, they are really fun to drive, and if you got given it even more reason to keep it is there anything else wrong with it? pics maybe?

fix or scrap, and engine swop in sussex?
i need some advice... i have a jap 1990 lwb TT, now i know its not worth much as its only and auto import, but its mine and i don't want to scrap it. im trying to decide what to do, its currently immobile in my garage as the engine has died, no mot or tax, all it really needs is an engine swop to be road legal, its completely rust free, do i get a new engine for it and fitted? think zedworld charge about 1500 for it, or do i scrap it and start again? thinking of getting a manual n/a swb if i do and does anyone know anywhere other then zedworld that can do the work ie source and fit a new engine? preferable near sussex. if it comes to it ill have to trailer it all the way to Zedworld. i can source an engine if it comes to it as well.

EGR removal....
i got mine out with the engine in, however i did have my plenum and intake manifold removed, but was fairly easy.

Name whats wrong with your car at the mo

boot build materials
for a boot build you could use any fabric glue i got some from a local textile shop for a fraction of that price, and i agree carpet is really hard to get right, id go with leather too, easier to stretch and fit and looks alot less tacky,

miles per gallon
its not the point of a Z MPG, i only got good mpg on my zed because i had to, low on fuel money lol:blushing: stuck it in overdrive at ~80 (late at night) it got me to Bolton and then lasted a few trips to work, think it was just under 350 miles, however by the sounds of it my zeds fuel gauges don't read right, my reserve tank light comes on it will only go 5miles at most. i know because I've had to get it towed to a fuel station twice... i have to say it was the most boring drive ever. on a normal trip it would do 275-300 to a tank, I've owned 2 zeds both TT auto and they have both done this kinds of miles per tank, i actually don't know how you lot are getting only 200? i thought i had a heavy foot?
