  1. that makes alot of sense, hadn't thought about the air flow, thanks jeff ill give that a try tommorow  and thanks everyone else for the help.
  2. left it for an hour tried again and its still not working so, ill look for an air leak tommorow failing that ill look for the hammer...:sneaky2:
  3. just for the record disconnecting the maf made do difference what so ever. normally the car would rev higher but did nothing.
  4. boost leak is more then possible with my zed its had soooo many recently, the idle doesn't seem to be very if at all different from before. and is this the det sesor wire???
  5. i've refitted the original maf, (known good until today) and im going to leave the battery disconnected overnight will try again in the morning. such a shame as the intercooler looks so meen :devil2: only reving to 2000rpm unless you accelerate incredably slowly kinda lets the whole look down though ...
  6. well the ecu code is 34 det issue, but what i did was fmic, alloy rad, carbon canister delete, new oil and filter, and new plugs. i did clean the maf if carb cleaner, but have since tried my spare maf
  7. checked that already its code 34, which i belive is the det sensor so wtf?
  8. i could really use some advise, just been fitting a few of my new parts, went to go for a test drive and she won't go over 1500 rpm, if it does it cuts power, (not engine) however if its in park or neutral it will rev freely and sounds perfect??? is this some sort of safety mode? and ideas what to do?
  9. yeah a guy who had a proper drift z32 used 3 spacers (thoses driftworks ones) each side iirc, but said their was space for 2 more each side, have a look shame he sold it but will give an idea of how much 3 will do.
  10. i filled mine up beginning of the month, cost £100 worth of v-power, i had to check under the car as i thought it was coming back out lol, cant help wonder where its all gone though, only done 160 miles and not alot left ...:whistling:
  11. right well they are out of the sard plug and cant get any more so that's one problem solved, already bypassed water, and have found my z1 egr delete kit so might do that. well i like HKS ones better lol :tt2:, its got the ngk's now but i want a cooler range. its these ones they might come pre-gaped they did ask for the car details on the phone today.
  12. somehow i have no points, even after a 20min conversation with a local traffic cop as to if the unmarked Daewoo Matiz (and that's no joke 2 of the largest police officers i've ever seen got out of it, i couldn't stop laughing) could have kept up if id decided not to stop. luckily they saw the funny side of it.
  13. im a bit confused, just ordered some service parts for my zed, hks plugs (heat range 8) hks oil filter sard sump plug (hope this isn't the one with clearance issues) im going to be gutting and cleaning as much as possible as well as the full service. looking at new alloy rad, fmic, and £130 worth of nissan hoses :crying: even at cost price!!! purely because i've had enough of the little running issues the zeds had recently. the zeds running high flow filter, custom decat exhaust, and is zedworld chipped @ 12psi. (along with a few other little mods) but what should the spark plug gap be? ill be running an oil flush though as well as oil and fuel additives during the service, anything else i should do whilst im here? (will be pulling plenum too as some of the breather pipes are shot)
  14. TBH there was a reason Nissan limited the car to 155, and i know i had to see if mine was limited but i didn't go much higher, still had more to give (on a private road of course.) and mines the same set up apart from a custom exhaust and a HKS mushroom filter
  15. wont get to have a look at it tommorw as i've got to go to some nissan coprate thing at brands hatch ( bit of a con as i dont get to go on the track )
  16. cheers, only started today, lol yeah apparently the noise was barley noticeable, but its a truly std car, but it annoyed the owner enough to have Nissan gut it. might be worth more in parts if its engine out job. messing on the system have mad myself a shopping list need funds first lol. found crate motors, and more interestingly a 99spec gearbox. (got to be done:thumbup:)
  17. right i started my new job with Nissan today nothing fancy im just running their parts dept, but on looking around in the storage car park i found a white TT auto zed just sitting their, apparently it was kept after the owner couldn't pay for the repairs and actually belongs to the garage now. they have done most of the work before it got stored, found the only fault (apart from being put back together is the main oil galley is block (not flowing right) on one bank, descried as a fluttering noise whilst running, any idea on fixing it, id hate to leave it their the old owner was a body shop guy its mint (apart from a years worth of dirt. )
  18. what???? have you both got genuine EBC yellow stuff pads? i've got them on my zed they are ok from cold, excellent when warm and i've not felt any fade unless i've really been riding them and even then its not been too bad.... sounds more like red stuff/ green stuff pads to fade like that, originally ran them on an s13 (red stuff) and they did they faded quickly and badly.
  19. seems to be a bit better now. what i found... well i changed the tps for a spare one, found one of the black pipes had a tiny crack in it (the 90 degree one to the side of the passenger throttle body, connecting to the intercooler feed) all this helped a little but strangely i was checking connections like you said Jeff removed the yellow ivv (?) connector at the back of the plenum in doing so the idle dropped straight to 850?? connected it back up it spiked to 1400ish then fell to 900 and has stayed there its still a little high, but now i work for Nissan ill try to get some new bit (tps, ivv, and the black OEM pipes all replaced)
  20. thanks Jeff will give it a go, doesn't sound like their is anything wrong with my box then, thanks for the info, suddenly occurred to me i have no idea how an auto box works... :stupid: as soon as i can afford it want it changed to manual anyway.
  21. it drives perfect apart from that gear changes are all good, as for the timing it had its cambelt changed by zedworld a few months ago, and ran fine after, i really doubt Jeff could have got the timing wrong, particularly as it went back for a remap and mot a month after and found nothing wrong. (thanks to everyone at zedworld BTW) ill check the connectors again as the wiring on my car is shoddy to say the least, if not ill try adjusting the idle screw like i said its not so much a problem its just a little annoying.
  22. thanks for the answers well i've tried adjusting the tps and resting base idle, its at the lowest possible, any higher and its 2K in park. the whole cars being strange and has been since i had all the air leak problems, all the air leaks are fixed now, (and i meen all) here are the symptoms 1) on cold start up ( and ocationally on warm) it revs itself on turning the key then drops to the point it nearly stalls ( has actually stalled on occasion) very embarrassing as im trying to pull away from a petrol station. 2) it acts strange under low throttle, best described as hesitating but not how you'd expect, doesn't cough or splutter its almost like the clutch slipping the revs chase slightly then its off and theirs no problems. only last a second at most but it didn't used to do it. 3) its spooky it almost feels like its driving itself on occasion like the throttle stuck even though it isn't. (had that actually happen the other day) the boost gauge (aftermarket) reads a nice -22psi at idle, and during its funny spells doesn't flux. i know their is a slight blow in the elbow to down pipe of the exhaust could that be doing it? making it run rich? its only slight just audible. other then that the car runs perfect in fact i've had a couple of people actually come and say how perfect it sounds (good feeling shame it looks like a shed) im confused its not really a problem as much as its annoying. im starting to regret naming it the devil Z, (anyone whos seen any old Japanese racing films will pick up on that)
  23. quick couple of questions for you guys, im not too good with the ins and outs of auto's, but when its in park my idle is quite high about 1200, but when in drive but stationary its about 8-900ish. is that normal? and my other question is can the clutch go on an auto might be a stupid question but how would you tell? on a manual you'd feel it but my zeds been acting a bit strange recently so just wondering.
  24. bloody hell that's cheap Jim, does he want to do mine too lol, i wouldn't go down the filler root under any circumstances, that's what someone has done on mine, same panel funnily enough and it just keeps cracking, looks terrible TBH. before i can get it sprayed going to have to remove all the filler and get a body shop to pull it out, similar dent on mine garage quoted around 300 (but that's to remove the filler and pull without paint on mine) could give me an exact quote as not sure what state its in under the filler
  25. wow if id seen the thread id have checked them sooner no harm done had to pull the plenum again today anyway so have gone over all of them and sealed them with a bit of lock-tight. i don't remember the zed feeling any different before it did it though lol.
